Jennifer (jhaltenburger) I read The Luxe The Luxe (Luxe, #1) by Anna Godbersen recently and now I'm reading Rumors Rumors (Luxe, #2) by Anna Godbersen . These were billed as YA-- which initially put me off reading them-- but I don't particularly see them as being YA especially.

message 25709: by Liz (new)

Liz (hissheep) Sorry you were disappointed by "Graveyard Tale" ... maybe I liked it because I listened on CD and the reader added something to the book?

I noticed that too - some books works better when you read them, and some better when you listen them.
I was listening "The Book Thief and my mp3 was broken when about 100 pages before end. I started finishing book by reading and noticed how it was much harder accumulate this book by reading. I liked this book anyway, but listening was better

Paula: I am only about a third of the way through this book, but find the writing style just carries me away to the place and time. It flows so smoothly between Mary's past and present that there is almost no break in the reader's mind. I love that.

Li, how are you liking the Keats? Mostly I hate poetry, but there's something about Keats and Walt Whitman that I enjoy.

I just started Dark Lover: The Life and Death of Rudolph Valentino- so far, so good. It was a Goodreads recommendation. I am loving that new feature on the site!

I was thinking to quit reading (what's happening really seldom - only couple times and one of that was with Catch-22) But anyway, I made it to the second part and just before that I started comprehend this book (it didn't work with catch 22, but I couldn't even got to 1/3 of Catch)

message 25750: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Started and finished a play by John Galsworthy today -- Loyalties :: a drama in three acts / which is about a successful Jewish British businessman who accuses an acquaintance-- not Jewish, not successful, but upper class and a member of the same clubs-- of theft. Of course, since dueling is passee, it must be resolved in a defamation court case. The title stems from a theme found in the other characters-- other members of the clubs the pro- and antagonists belong to, who have reason to believe the accused is guilty but are reluctant to take the side of the Jew against one of their own.
