Scott | 257 comments Just finished Florida Roadkill. That was a crazy ride. I can't wait until the next one becomes available from the library.

Now onto Duma Key.

message 24459: by Yassemin (new)

Yassemin (yas666) | 42 comments Loved Duma Key!! One of SK's better new ones..

Currently reading: The Butcher's Boy which isn't too bad so far...good premise but kinda comes across as written by an inexperienced writer...

Also Unnatural Exposure. Hope its better than Cause of death which I had to end up skimming completely crap.

Matt Sinclair (cflames55117) Finished the 4th book of the Dark Tower, Wizard and Glass. Gonna read a couple stand-alone novels before tackling the 5th.

I felt the same way after reading Wizard and Glass. It was quite a long read.

However, once I started reading Wolves of the Calla, I couldn't put the series down and read straight through to the end. I think the last three were my favorite in the series.

message 24466: by Jack (new)

Jack (echoicglory) | 32 comments I've just finished the last book I read and it was really depressing. So, I'm taking my chance with a different genre this time -- Hopefully it would not murder me with the first ten pages...

The Accidental Bestseller by Wendy Wax

Maybe I should have just gone on and finish the Percy Jackson series? I'm putting that off for as long as I can, but it kept calling me back... Hahah...

the forgotten garden by kate morton. not a big fan of switching narratives, but the story is intriguing enough to keep me turning the pages.

message 24485: by Jane (new)

Jane | 27 comments I am currently reading The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie and it is ok. Kind of bummed, because usually I am immediately sucked into any kind of mystery and rip through pages at breakneck speed... not totally loving Flavia as a narrator.

2 great books I want to read. Just heard an interview with the author of Unbroken, really amazing what we are capable of withstanding.

message 24489: by Maria (new)

Maria (minks05) | 481 comments i started, and finished, katie fforde's Life Skills last night. it was typical of her books, a woman in her 30s who makes a big life change and ends up having even bigger changes happen as a result. engaging and well written, which is probably why i stayed up until 1am to finish it last night. not one of my smartest moves.

i started Child 44 by tom rob smith at lunch today. i'm about a chapter in, and it feels like i'm going to enjoy it.

I wasn't as excited about Water for Elephants as I wanted to be. It just sort of fell flat. How did you like it?

I am currently reading The Heart of the Matter by Emily Giffin.

message 24493: by Kehinde (new)

That one is so much fun, Derek! Enjoy!

message 24497: by Linda (new)

Linda | 887 comments Almost finished with The Master Butchers Singing Club (P.S.) by Louise Erdrich . This book has such rich characters and her use of language is almost poetic. Each individual is so unique but together they form a landscape that keeps the reader engaged and wanting more. This is my first Louise Erdich book, but most assuredly not my last.

Dana * (queenofegypt) I am about halfway through Purple Jesus. I am pondering it a great deal as I read, whether I am liking it or not. it reminds me of films like Magnolia and Crash.

has anybody else got some info on this book?
