many years ago i read "3 horsemen of the apocalipsy" i am not sure about the title or author .The story is set in during the war in France
I finished Dracula which was fantastic but grossly misrepresented by our current culture, which surprised me a bit. Although I should be used to it by now. I had the same revelation following Frankenstein. So I'm back to Cover Her Face, and am just a minute farther in than I was before.
Just finished Son of a Witch...loved it! My favorite part about finishing a book is selecting the next book!! Can't wait to go stare at my tbr bookshelf...
i started The Transformation of Bartholomew Fortuno yesterday. so far it's ok, but not too fantastic. we'll see if it gets better.
I just finished Water for Elephants, which was wonderful, and I've just begun The Moviegoer, by Walker Percy. I enjoyed alternating between reading contemporary fiction and classic novels.
I am still reading "Three Junes"it is taking too long ,i have so many other books that i just purchased that it is getting difficult to finish reading this one
Just began "Cosima" by Grazia Delidda. She is an Italian author who lived in Sardenia and was the first female Italian writer to win the Nobel Prize. Is very, very descriptive in nature, with minimal dialogue.
I finished Bloodstream by Tess Gerritsen and thought that the beginning was fantastic. After that, it started getting really disappointing. Now I'm going to start The Catcher in the Rye since I went through high school without being required to read it.
I tend to multitask my reading, since I usually have a different book at each locale. The currently juggles are:Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace... One School at a Time - At home
The Beach Street Knitting Society and Yarn Club - At the Office
In Cold Blood - At the BF's house
I'm quite ADD, so it was terrific when I discovered I could read multiple books at one time and didn't have to choose...whatever one is where I am, that's what I'm reading! :o)
Definitely! I just started it two days ago, and already stayed up way too late reading one night from not wanting to put it down.
I am currently reading Heinrich Boll's 'The Train Was on Time'. Good book. Easy read - although the subject matter -WWII is not. First book from this nobel prize winner. Recommended.
Okay,so this is probably not the place to ask this...But I'm not sure what forum is...At one point I had the books listed by author in the "MyBooks" section. Now its' just a random listing. I'd like to get back the by author listing. How do you do that?
I'm currently reading Whitethorn Woods by Maeve BinchyIt's not as good as some of her other books but a nice bedtime read.
Just finished Between Shades of Gray and gave it a nice 5 stars! Now I am reading Island of the Blue Dolphins. I have list of books to read in order but I forgot to grab one on my way out to work this morning so I am reading the smallest book on my shelf at work. Plus, I really did want to read this book anyway so score for me!
Tess wrote: "I love all Tess Gerritsen - not just because of her name"I've just read Stolen by Tess Gerritsen and thoroughly enjoyed it :)
I'm finishing up A Storm of Swords which is the 3rd book in the Song of Fire and Ice series. It's amazing, but also heartbreaking. I just started Room. I think I need a happy book next.
Lauren, do give Water for Elephants another go. I thought it was a fantastic book and has one of the best endings I've ever read.
I finished The Catcher in the Rye and don't really get what the big deal is...I ended up giving it two stars. Now I'm going to start The Ruins by Scott Smith.
I'm currently reading Leugenaars you might know this book by the original title (Den der lyver) or the English one (The Liar). It is set in a small Danish countryside village. I don't know how it is to live there but I think it gives a good view into the village live there.I'm also reading Wuthering Heights and Fury, although less frequent, first finish the other book.

Betsy, you are correct, this is probably not the best place to ask :) There is actually a thread for questions about the group that this would have worked well in...
Either way, I think you should be able to sort by author under "my books" by licking the word AUTHOR - it's a hyperlink - but I am not sure if it will remain sorted that way. You may have to filter it each time you go into "my books".

I finished Loving Frank by Nancy Horan. I had recently read The Women by T.C. Boyle so I knew what was going to happen at the end. Loving Frank covers Frank Lloyd Wright's love affair with Mamah Borthwick (#2) while The Women goes into the 4 romantic interests in his life (interestingly starting from his last and going backwards to his first wife). I thought Loving Frank was much more sympathetic to Mamah since it was told through her point of view while The Women was told through a third party (one of the architect's assistants). It also made you think more about feminism and how greatly times have changed since the early 1900's. While Frank Lloyd Wright was a genius with his art, he's not an exemplary ladies man. Both were good reads. Now I'm moving on to A Town Like Alice by Nevil Shute.

Is that the one about the big road? normally love her books too but this might be the lesser one for me too.

Thanks.I figured this out shortly after I wrote the post. But still thanks for your time and direction.
Due to school being cancelled for three days,I've been chugging through the 5 books I bought at 50% off . Right now I'm 2/5ths through the White Queen and am getting involved in the plot. I'd forgotten how much I liked that genre. But then its' not my mother's Reader's Digest anymore. Great snow read! :D
I decided to put down The Ruins because I wasn't in the mood for it. I decided to read Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood instead and am really liking it so far.
Well, currently I'm still reading Lord of the Flies and it's not that it's bad or anything (I actually really like it) I've just had a lot of other things going on lately and haven't had a whole lotta time. I'm almost done, though. Maybe tonight. :)
Alisha wrote: "I finished The Catcher in the Rye and don't really get what the big deal is...I ended up giving it two stars. Now I'm going to start The Ruins by Scott Smith."I agree with you. I read this not long ago and didn't really care for it.
Just finished up The Waste Lands. The quest for the Dark Tower is getting better! Gonna start up Wizard and Glass later tonight.
That's right - it's the one about the road bypass being built through the Whitethorn Woods and taking the sacred well with it.
i finished The Transformation of Bartholomew Fortuno last night. it wasn't my favorite book, i'll say that. parts of it were good, but it just seemed unnecessarily long and strung out. the writing itself was good, but i just wasn't a huge fan of the storyline.i picked up Sarah's Key at target today, so i'll try to start that a bit later.
Anna wrote: "That's right - it's the one about the road bypass being built through the Whitethorn Woods and taking the sacred well with it."ok, I remember that it was still good but the lesser one of hers. Enjoy anyway, it still has her typical style in it. :-)
Maria wrote: "i finished The Transformation of Bartholomew Fortuno last night. it wasn't my favorite book, i'll say that. parts of it were good, but it just seemed unnecessarily long and strung ou...I really liked "Sarah's Key" Maria, hope you enjoy it.
I have finished Lover Awakened
The Third book in this excellent series is the best yet. Zsadist was amazing. 5 StarsSpider's Bite
I would definitely recommend this book as a sexy, sassy read, especially if you're looking for the type of book where the female lead is strong, autonomous, smart and sexy. 3 StarsDarkfever
Darkfever is the first novel in the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. This book is full of mystery, revenge and tension. If you're looking for a fantastic supernatural tale that doesn't degenerate into an orgy, this might just be the one for you dont judge this book by it cover. 4 starsBitten & Smitten
They story is utterly captivating and fun. The heroine is very easy-going and she made me wonder numerous of times, if it is actually possible to keep such a cold head under such "disturbing" circumstances. I enjoyed reading this book immensely, and would definitely recommend it to paranormal romance/mystery fans. 4 stars
Tempting the Beast
I like erotic fiction as much as the next person, and this series had real potential but it transcended a lot of the boundaries I'd previously read. This was the first Lora Leigh book I've read, and I was looking forward to trying something different, but now I won't be in any real hurry to rush out and read the rest of this series, unfortunately, unless they're a marked improvement from book one!. 3 stars for the plot I am now reading The Iron Daughter
and A Hunger Like No Other
and still reading
The Hollow
I just finished reading "THREE JUNES BY JULIA GLASS"good reading but it drag on.Now i am ready to pick my next book.
I started reading Steve Berry's The Emperor's Tomb, which looks different since it's set in a completely different continent this time around xD
I'm still reading War and Peace, which I'm thoroughly enjoying but I'm reading it in slower segments to give myself time to read something else, too.Last week I finished Tender Is the Night. I found I really enjoyed it by the end, although I wasn't sure about that in the beginning.
In the next day or two, I'll also finish A Mixture of Frailties, the last of The Salterton Trilogy. I've enjoyed the entire trilogy of books. Davies portrays interesting characters. This trilogy has a lot of his humour and wit in it.
I'm about 1/3 of the way into The Nature of Monsters and altho I like it, I think I could do without alot of the body fluid references. I'm hoping for a happy ending with this one, its heartbreaking what this girl is having to go thru.
