Group Read for May!
Michelle wrote: "Wow I just looked and I love all the historicals you sent to me. I havent read any of them!! Woot, my TBR list is about to grow! Thank you so much D.G.!"You're welcome!
Here's the list of 1st in series I sent Michelle. I'm not nominating any of them for the May read. :)They are all by different authors - Lisa Kleypas in particular has several other good series but I figured she'd want variety. :)
I'm also including here the # of books in the series. :)
HISTORICAL
The Raven Prince (3 books +1 novella)
The Duke And I (8 books + several novellas)
And Then He Kissed Her (4 books)
More Than a Mistress (2 published, one coming out this year)
Secrets of a Summer Night (4 books + 1 novella)
Thunder and Roses (7 books)
Across a Moonlit Sea (2 books)
PNR
Slave to Sensation (9 published + several novellas, #10 coming out this year)
Pleasure Unbound (5 books)
Skin Game (3 published, one coming out this year)
ROMANTIC SUSPENSE
Extreme Exposure (5 published)
UF
Moon Called (6 published)
Well last night I went through my TBR list and got rid of some books... Looks like I filled them back up again. D. G. Thank you so much for putting together this list :) Some I already planned on reading or have read but a few were new. Thanks Girl!!
You're welcome Leea. Glad you found something in there you liked.I've read almost all the books in all these series, except the Girl Bachelors - I loved the first book but for some strange reason I never continued...I'm planning to remedy that this year though. :)
Wow~ This thread got a great response~ better than my attempts for sure~ Great recommendations guys.
The poll is set up on the home page. I'll go look now and see where it's at. The plan was to leave the poll up until next Friday. That gives us two weeks to get the book. Unless there doesn't seem to be any more movement, voting.
Okay! We had a 4 way tie!So I've updated the poll to those four books and this last week we'll try to narrow it down to one. The poll will end on Friday the 15th.
I didn't know we needed to either, until I just went and looked. If we get down to a two way tie I can talk with Stacia and Shell and we can just pick one, but a 4 way tie, well that just seems like too many, haha.
Michelle wrote: "sorry where is the home page?"You don't have to go to the homepage to find the polls...you can do it from here. If you scroll up to this page, you'll see a list of links under "Romance, Historical or Otherwise" heading. The last one says 'polls' and if you click there, you can find the poll.
(I would have posted this sooner, but I'm at worked and being run ragged!)We have a winner!!!
Our big Group read for May will be... duh du du daaaah! Dark Seduction by Brenda Joyce!
Check out the Poll results on our poll page.
Great job Wendy!! Can't wait to read the books and talk ALL about it. So, do we start the book May 1 or discuss by May 1st - I often over think things. LOL!!

Yay! I've been having the 1st 3 books on my Kindle for a such long time & just never got around to reading them!
BTW... you can get the 3 book bundle for Kindle for only $8.77. The Masters of Time books 1-3 [Kindle Edition] :)
The discussion will start May 1 and you can start reading whenever between now and the end of May to participate in the monthly discussion. After May, I'm assuming the discussion will probably still remain in the group reads folder (unless Wendy wants to do something different) for anyone who chooses to read it later in the year and still wants to comment, it just won't be priority or bookmarked.

I was planning to change this folder to a generic ask and answer thread for group reads, and on May 1st start a folder specific for May with the book title, unless anyone has a better idea.
Marcella asked me if we were going to read at our own pace or if we were going to read together by limiting our how many pages a night so that we can discuss as we go. I wanted to bring that to the table here.
That's Christine! I just downloaded!
Wendy F wrote: "I was planning to change this folder to a generic ask and answer thread for group reads, and on May 1st start a folder specific for May with the book title, unless anyone has a better idea..."However you want to do it is fine. I just assumed that whatever the current group read is would end up with a star next to it (bookmarked), putting it at the top of the folder so it's easy to find, then unstarred and moved down with the other topics when the month was over. If you think making a new folder would be easier, then go for it.
I didnt look to see if there was already a thread. If there is I may just move that into the group reads folder temporarily, just so it's connected (and cause that's what I said in the group email).
Gonna throw this up on the main page so people know it's coming up.*edit* Added it, but did not put a discussion leader. Wendy can decide if she wants to do it, add someone else, or not have one at all.
Awesome! Thanks, Stacia. I've been so busy this weekend. My dad had a mild heart attack last Tuesday, so I've been spending alot of time with him this week. I've been hopping on his iPad every now and them, but typing on that thing is anNOYing!
It seems as though we're all going to read at our leisure and not reading on a schedule. So it seems that I wouldn't make a discussion leader and we can just post as we read or when we finish to discuss.
We could post updates in the thread with what page we are on and what we're thinking as we read?
Thanks Ladies!! Looking forward to it. I'm sure it will all come together! Maybe recommending at least a minimum number of pages or chapters each week to stay up to date with the chat??
Marcella thought the same thing, that way we were reading and discussing as a group. I'd be okay with that too. Anyone else?
It is always hard to see our parents frail! But he's still pretty young! Just give him time! Thanks for looking out for us too Wendy! It's appreciated.
Real life comes first, always. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this right now. 59 is very young.
I'm sorry Wendy that you are going through this. I hope your father get's better really soon. I'm thinking about you and sending you strength.
Thanks everyone. I'm glad to say that he's already doing better, still weak at times, but home and even is getting out of the house (so long as someone else is driving). I took him to Best Buy yesterday and he treated us both to new laptops, haha. He's got two daughters and a granddaughter, and he spoils us all.
I took him to Best Buy yesterday and he treated us both to new laptops, haha. he spoils us allUh, ya! I'll say! You are very fortunate to have such a doting father!
So has anyone started reading yet?? ;0) I'm trying to finish #8 of the Anita Blake series that I am enjoying immensely thank you very much!
I probably won't start until May. I'm still reading Game of Thrones, and I'm not sure what will be after that.
You are going to Finish GoT and still try and fit in another book before our May book read?? Still haven't figured out how you all read so many books so fast!! I'm not a slow reader honest! My DH made me watch Land of the Lost with Will Farrel last night. Ugh! An hour and a half of my life wasted. I'd rather have been reading but didn't want to hurt his feelings!
