DG, love the new name! LOL!Rossy, to think I used to like you... *hugs back*
Actually getting a historical rec is not a bad thing for me. Don't tell anybody but I've read a couple that I thought were *looks around to make sure nobody else can hear* not terrible. Rossy is right though a TSTL heroine is always a book killer. But the best part about this challenge is getting something that you probably wouldn't have chosen for yourself. I've read horror, YA, mystery, PNR, SF, erotica, and even my comfort zone - contemporary romance as a result of this challenge. So here's to broadening horizons.
A big Thanks to Rossy for sending out the mass notice/invite to this coming Pick it Challenge for me.Another big Thanks to Photojim, Tania and the rest for being so helpful while I was out for most of the day.
The guidelines for picking recommendations will go up in message #3 on the 28th about the same time that I post the match ups. I have set the cut off for the sign ups at 9pm (CST) but it will take a while (depending on reliability of my internet connection) so, don't expect the match up list to go up till after 11pm (CST) - hopefully sooner. The way I am leaning for the guidelines gives 7-8 recommendations, some from the tbr, others new.
** So great to see so many new names this time around, this is going to be fun. **
So sorry Melissa, don't know what happened but it is fixed now. Since there are more than one (it happens), I added to your names (state abbreviation and/or profile address, sometimes I will add last initial if there is one). I will use the same clarification for any of the others that we have multiples of. I have tried hard to get everyone, but if there is anyone else not seeing their name, please don't be shy - call me on it and I will get it fixed ASAP. This challenge is so much fun and I wouldn't want to leave anyone out.
Yeah, imagine my surprise :)This will make it fun for me to make sure I get everyone, but I can't wait to tackle this.
Still have a week left if anyone else is interested
haha, Hey Melissa, I figured out were my glitch was. You both signed up one after another (message #72 & #73) so my eyes saw Melissa - didn't see 2 Melissa's.
No problem, maybe I should add my initial of my last name. Which is H. I have noticed a few new Melissa's!! :)
For now I have you with an AL - but if you would like to change it, let me know. You don't have to use your last name, you could do like some of the others and put a nickname or something to personalize it after their name. Even just adding ~, * or some html would be enough to personalize it. Fact, I might do that too.

lol, um Yeah - should be fun though :o)You know it is because of your help with that mass broadcast. Can't thank you enough!

who me...satan's mistress....hmmm, maybe i do feel a name change coming on - ive been DDCA for a while now...lol!
I know - a historical TSTL (plus being really unlucky) heroine who despite being a virgin is well versed in the art of sex and is all up for some ummm digit play but then is shocked and in pain when it actually comes to actual sex, whilst trying to solve a improbable mystery with poorly characterised bad guys. Throw some vampires in there just for the sake of being able to call it a vampire book and it would possibly be Jim's favourite book of all time *kidding! - although I would really want to read his review on that one*For anyone who wants a laugh and isn't afraid of spoilers or frank discussion about sex you have to check out Jim's review of Heart of the Dragon.
Tania, the fact that you remember that review is surprising. And yes, Dee, I actually do feel the love. I am the middle child with two sisters. We
LOL! I swear some of Jim reviews totally make my day. I cannot laugh enough at how he dissects the story.
Photojim wrote: "Tania, the fact that you remember that review is surprising. And yes, Dee, I actually do feel the love. I am the middle child with two sisters. We abuse I mean love each other the same way."
I think you may have too many sisters now :) - all that love hmmm !
How do you end up the topic of so many conversations, is it your dislike of historicals? or being one of the few (if not the only) man brave enough to dive in here, and admit to reading the books ???
Welcome, I think I have everyone so far, please double check the list on page 1 (message #2) to make sure you are there. There is a lot of names this month and I don't want to miss anyone.
Thank you for the thoughts Debbie. I've found a home here at the RRRC group. While it is true that I'm about the only guy in the romance group who is an avid romance reader, I think the bigger part is that I'm here every day. If you mouse over the avatar of the people you can see how many posts they've made in that group. I'm currently at 4322 comments in the RRRC group. Much like being a part of any family, 90% is just showing up when you are supposed to.The funny thing is that my wife is so not jealous of my online time with you all. She calls my hour or so a day online with my romance reading groups as Jim's harem time. I think it's pretty funny myself. I've been married to her for nearly 20 years and she knows that she is the most wonderful woman in the world.
My dislike of historicals? It is more of a running joke at this point. But I don't mind being made fun of. If it's good for a laugh for somebody, I'm good for it.
*phew* Thanks heavens you can take a joke Jim, 'cos we are paying you out in another thread as well! You just haven't revisited it yet ...or you are ignoring us??!! :)

Hey Alecia - I got ya on the list :)So glad to see so many people taking an interest in the Pick It Challenge this month.
Getting closer to the match up - don't forget to check back on the 29th for your the name of the person you get to pick for. You will have from March 29th to April 2nd to make your recommendations - and you get some too.
Just think - at a membership of more than 2,550, this still only represents a participation rate of less than 5%!!Imagine if it grew to 10%!
