First off, I hate that I lost my copy of Lonesome Dove IN MY CAR (along with a BRAND NEW MAC face powder) and didn't get to read it for two freaking months. I relocated it yesterday (sitting with my powder- hello, darling) and I LOVE IT!! I'm so happy I found it.
Second, I hate remodeling. I hate baseboards and moulding and paint and fixtures and all that shit. I LOVE my house! It is god-damned adorable and I love my paint colors and I love my refinished hardwood floors and I love my kitchen and I love my new bed linens and it's cozy and fabulous and I can't believe I get to live there.
I hate that so many people have been helping out at my house that now I am at everyone's freaking mercy because they've been so helpful and now I feel like I owe everyone years and years worth of favors. I LOVE that I have so many people in my life that will come over and do mind-numbing shit like paint a bedroom or sift through a box of shit (see next paragraph) just because they like me.
I hate that I had been living in the house for ONE DAY and my parents showed up with every single box of anything I'd ever been storing at their house. We're talking boxes from college, boxes from high school, and yes, a super awesome box from eighth grade that includes an Esprit bag and some random science shit, as well as some notes. I LOVE that I get to spend the next few days going through these boxes and reading notes that were passed from 1993-1997 and then I get to read letters that my now deceased great-grandma sent to me while I was at college. What a bonus!
I also hate that the inner thigh part of my coziest pajamas that were about 10 years old blew out... apparently my chub rub is a force to be reckoned with. FUCK.

Yet another reason to hate Maryland.

@Smetch... Fuck Maryland. I had the creepiest ride of my life on the metro between College Park and Ballston- seriously thought I was going to be kidnapped. I'm pretty sure the guy that was talking to me was the same guy that was killing all the interns in the late 90s/early 00s.

I'm excited for you about your sweet little house!!

I'm overdue, it's true!! I'm contemplating a trip in the fall, but am scheduled to be in Hawaii for Christmas, so funds might be tight. I'll see what I can do!

I'm Atheist so I am giving nothing up for Lent. And I just want to add that I hate the way my mother acts like the world revolves around her. I should drive an hour and a half in the snow and ice to see her, but she cannot drive to see me when the sun is out shining. I hate the way she just blows my kids off because she is mad at me. And I hate the way I am as stubborn as she is. But mostly, I just hate my mom and wish I would find out I was adopted.

Actually, I feel, I have a rather happy existence. I just hate a lot of things. If that makes any sense. lol. I just didn't have a very good upbringing and it continues on and I am going to be 38 this year. I just fucking hate parents that try to control every little aspect of their kids lives and then ignore you when you don't do what they want. It is very childish and I hate it.

You had me at College Park. Creepy!
I'm Lutheran. We didn't give up things for Lent. My ex was Catholic, so I went to a Catholic church for 5 or so years when I was with him. After I broke up with him, I stopped going to church.
