Wanted: Reading Buddies

ROLLIE: Pakiremind mo ..."
Sure. Hehehe

@Monique: That's fine! Just tell me nalang po if ever you're ready. :)

I've read 1984 already. I am not up to another Murakami for the moment. I would like to read with you "A Farewell to Arms" but I am not yet a fan of Ernest Hemingway. (I read his Old Man and The Sea and it did not rub me the right way I guess). I have a copy of "The Devil in the White City" but no motivation to read it yet (so it is in the bottom of my tbr pile).

I had the same problems with Hemingway as well. I have a couple of friends who are extreme fans of his, but I've tried to read A Farewell to Arms thrice and I couldn't get past the first chapter. That's probably why I need to have reading buddies so I can be motivated to finish it.
Really looking forward to being reading buddies with you! I hope you don't mind my slow pace because I'm currently juggling my lit class with my recreational reading.

I've also read "A Farewell to Arms", I'm willing to be your reading buddy, just as long as it takes place sometime in May.

APRIL 15: BRAVE NEW WORLD (Bea, K.D. and Angus)
MAY TBD: A FAREWELL TO ARMS (Bea, Regine and K.D.)
BEA: I don't mind slow reading. I can have more than 5 currently-reading books. I always believe that there are books that you can read even while in a crowded noisy place while there are books that you have to be in complete silence and full concentration for you to understand them.

I will also try to join A Farewell to Arms if I can get my copy. 80% of my books are in Baguio City. I should consider towing them here, haha.

@K.D.: I will probably be able to read a bit fast because I have that week off; however, I am not sure if I will be able to access the web for the April 16-18 since my family and I are going somewhere, I think. But I will bring my laptop just in case the place we will be staying in has access to the web.
@Angus: I think it really is. That's why I can never read it all by myself. I'd be itching to talk about it after every chapter, and if I read it by myself I wouldn't have anyone to talk to ahaha. And cool, I hope you can join us! I love reading with a lot of people.

I think I know what to give you on April 10! Excited to meet you and everyone, too! ;)

Ehh...na pressure tuloy ako. But thanks. Excited na din ako! :)

after sana i read "Atonement". Give me a week..haha

ANGUS: Are you still up for Saramago? I counted the chapters yesterday and they are 24.
Considering that it will start on Tuesday, April 5.
Options:
2 chapters a day - finish by Friday, Apr 16
3 chapters a day - finish by Tuesday, Apr 12.
Let me know which one you prefer.

Dramang umaatikabo! Kelan?

Are you amenable to 8 chapters a day? Short chapters lang naman siya :)

Gone With the Wind
All the King's Men
The Grapes of Wrath (Thanks, Jason!)
Maybe May? Or June? I'll keep my fingers crossed. :D

Brave New World is on the 15th. Let's finish that one first and then we can plan The Grapes of Wrath. Thanks! :)

Brave New World ..."
All righty. Tempted to buy the Olive edition of Brave New World. The copy I have (the one I told you about last night) is quite nondescript.

Count me in, kababayan! David Mitchell is one of my literary heroes. When do you want to start?

Brav..."
Singit muna po ako hehe... I have the Olive edition of Brave New World, and it's really worth your money because it also have Brave New World Revisited in it. :)

@Lynai: I just came across a copy of the first and eighth books in the Mitford series at Booksale, do you have those already? :) Also, let me know if you still want to read Room, ha. I read the comments thread in K.D.'s review, grabe ang reactions, haha! :)
