Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) If you haven't read through at least book 3, you might want to stop here. It's too hard not to spoiler the first three books because if you see the pics you'll have some of what's going on spoiled for you.

Saw one of the most recent trailer pictures in another group, so I went looking for the CoFA trailer (release is in 3 weeks).

Hot little pic, eh?

The book trailer is so bad. Extreme cheesiness. Considering this series has sold almost as much as Hunger Games and Twilight, it's a shame they didn't budget for a better book trailer.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) For the Simon fans...

message 4: by Leea (new)

Leea Wow that was cheesy... Thanks for sharing... I'm still on City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3) by Cassandra Clare So who is going to play Jace?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) The movie hasn't been cast yet, but Alex Pettyfer was offered the role. I'm almost positive he's not taking the part though.

The above pics were just from the book trailer shoot for City of Fallen Angels, and none of those actors are associated with the production of the City of Bones movie.

message 6: by Leea (new)

Leea oh, i misunderstood. Thanks!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I love to look up book trailers for series I'm into, but rarely do I find one worth getting excited about.

The ones for Night Huntress and Fever were pretty bad. Tairen Soul's were some of the worst I'd ever seen.

My all time favorite book trailers are the ones for White Cat and The League series, which I've already linked once or twice in this group, so I won't be repetitive and link them again.

message 8: by Leea (new)

Leea I don't really look at the authors website until after i've read and liked a series... I should do it more. Like the Night Huntress site has all those wacky shirts about Bones and Chap 32. They are always good for a laugh.

message 9: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Mar 14, 2011 04:21PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Moning has a great website. I want a (spoiler for Shadowfever) (view spoiler). I also like the K'vruck you tshirts.

I also like the mugs with JZB inside of a heart.

message 10: by Leea (new)

Leea My friend has an Outlander shirt... forget what is says, but it's in Gaelic. She wears it when we do Pilates and it just makes me thing of Jamie - ahhh!! I wanted some Outlander jewelry for awhile but got over it :)

message 11: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Mar 14, 2011 04:29PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I like the novelty items but moreso for wearing around the house or to bed.

If you ever catch me going to a Twilight movie with a fan t-shirt on, just shoot me. I'm not a big twifan anyway, but even if I was, I wouldn't wear the shirts to a movie...

Those women make me embarrassed for them.

message 12: by Leea (new)

Leea OMG my mom got me this twilight shirt as a joke... so i'm part of this moms group and we did a spray tan party (my first ever) and i brought that shirt for after because i don't care if it get's the tanner on it... Everyone made fun of me LMAO!!

I feel for those women to... I don't judge because i might be one of them if the BH or Outlander movie ever comes out... You never know!!

message 13: by Leea (new)

Leea Spoiler for City of Glass...

(view spoiler)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) That was a sweet scene. :)

message 15: by Leea (new)

Leea Man i only have like 50 pgs to go.

message 16: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I've never looked up book trailers. In all honesty, I didn't even know there were book trailers until I started seeing them on TV.

This is a dumb question, lol, but you just google the book?

(That first trailer pick of Jace and Clary is HOT! Who ever that Jace model is is damn sexy.)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) It works best to look them up on you tube, under the title plus the words book trailer.

message 18: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Thanks!

There isn't one for Lover Unleashed, pooh. They did have one for Plague and Land of Painted Caves.

message 19: by Leea (new)

Leea Finished City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3) by Cassandra Clare ... Now I really want to read Clockwork Angel. Off to read some smut :)

Most of Sherrilyn Kenyon's trailers are pretty decent. The trailer for Acheron (Dark-Hunter, #15) by Sherrilyn Kenyon was amazing. So was the one for Infinity (Chronicles of Nick, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon .

Most trailers are just glorified PowerPoint presentations. And the one for MI is, cheesy.

Read the series in about two day over a year ago. May have to do a re-read before CoFA comes out.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Maybe that's why I liked The League so much. It was another Kenyon series. Kenyon must get lucky with whoever does her trailers.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) For those that can't get enough of Jace, he does make cameos in the curseworkers series by Holly Black. I actually find the curseworking world a fun one because the magic is different. The family almost has a mafia vibe, and the characters must wear gloves because they can curse/hurt people with a single touch.

White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black Red Glove (Curse Workers, #2) by Holly Black

I have not read the second book yet, but will be getting to it this week. Supposedly both him and Clary make an actual appearance in the book Red Glove. Holly Black and Cassandra Clare are friends in real life, so they like to feature each other's characters in their books. They also have a similar writing style, which makes reading the two of them sort of interchangeable.

The first cameo from Jace in White Cat is not so much a cameo, but moreso a mention. It's supposed to be an alternate universe Jace, as if he existed in their curseworking world.

This scene starts when Cassel is talking to his brother Barron and asking him to confirm some lost memories, as a way of testing him to see if he's being truthful.

He asked Barron about this memory:

"Okay, how about when you smoked all that weed that you thought was laced with something? You fell into the tub, but you refused to get out because you were convinced the back of your head would fall off. The only thing that would calm you down was reading out loud, so I read the only book in the bathroom-one of Mom's romances, called "The Windflower", cover-to-cover."

After Barron acts like he remembers, Cassel says afterward :

"That story happened to a guy Jace in my dorm. Sadly, no one had the "The Windflower on hand. Me and Sam and another guy in our hall took turns reading "Paradise Lost" through the locked door. I think it actually made him more paranoid. though."
"That's not true," he (Barron) says.
"Well, he *seemed* more paranoid to me," I say. "And he still gets a little weird at the mention of angels."

Jace was smoking weed, fell in a tub, and was paranoid of angels. I found this amusing, considering he's part angel.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Yes please to making out against a wall. Nice little video clip.

code is wayland

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Another Jace cameo in this book I just found :

Red Glove (Curse Workers, #2) by Holly Black

"That stoner dude, Jace, says he hooked up with someone over the summer," Kevin whispers. "But I hear all the pictures he's showing around are really pictures of his half sister. Fifty bucks says there's no girlfriend."

message 25: by Leea (new)

Leea LOL that's funny... How do you like it so fat?

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I like the books. They're not the same old paranormal. The people are not other creatures (vamps, fae, wolves, etc.), but simply humans with gifts, which is refreshing.

Cassel, the main character is a transformation worker who can turn people into other things. His brother wiped out his memories, and Cassel is just now starting to remember some of his terrible past, and how he hurt people for his mafia type family.

The girl he loves was cursed by his mom to love him, so he keeps her at arm's length because he believes she doesn't love him for real.

message 27: by Leea (new)

Leea Hmmm thanks!! I have the first 4 on my bookshelf... I'm trying to get through my library books then focus on books i've bought.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) ?

Do you mean the other discussion we were having about the ebooks?

By all means, read what you have. I load up on ebooks and take forever to get to any of them. It's not like they're going anywhere.

message 29: by Leea (new)

Leea Yeah I thought you were talking about something else... lol!! Wine and GR does not mix...

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Sure it does. It makes for interesting conversations.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh lord...getting inside Jace's head is something I'd like to do more often. This whole page had me remembering why I adore him.

Jace's POV on the kiss at the Seelie Court

This little excerpt had me swooning a little bit. Spoilers for book 2.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) As promised to Marcella, Jace's letter to Clary. I copied it from another group and feel way too lazy to go back and add in proper punctuation and grammar.

*****SPOILERS if you haven't read CITY O F GLASS*****

Clary,

Despite everything, I can't bear the thought of this ring being lost forever, any more then I can bear the thought of leaving you forever. And though i have no choice about the one, at least I can choose about the other. Im leaving you our family ring because you have as much right to it as i do
I'm writing this watching the sun come up. You're asleep, dreams moving behind your restless eyelids. I wish i knew what you were thinking. I wish I could slip into your head and see the world the way you do. I wish I could see myself the way you do. But maybe I dont want to see that. Maybe It would make me feel even more than I already do that I'm perpetuating some kind of Great Lie on you, and I couldnt stand that.
I belong to you. You could do anything you wanted with me and i would let you. You could ask anything of me and I'd break myself trying to make you happy. My heart tells me this is the best and greatest feeling i have ever had. But my mind knows the difference between wanting what you cant have and wanting what you shouldnt want. and I shouldnt want you.
All night I've watched you sleeping, watched the moonlight come and go, casting it's shadows across your face in black and white. I've never seen anything more beautiful. I think of the life we could have had if things were different, a life where this night is not a singular event, separate from everything else that's real, but every night. But things aren't different, and I cant look at you without feeling like ive tricked you into loving me.
The truth no one is willing to say out loud is that no one has a shot against Valentine but me. I can get close to him like no one else can. I can pretend I want to join him and hell believe me, up until that last moment where I end it all, one way or another. I have something of Sebastians; I can track him to where my fathers hiding, and thats what im going to do. So I lied to you last night. I said I just wanted one night with you. But i want every night with you. And thats why I have to slip out of your window now, like a coward. Because if I had to tell you this to your face, I couldnt make myself go.

I dont blame you if you hate me, I wish you would. As long as I can still dream, I will dream of you

-Jace

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Bump for Ladyhawk. Topic is pretty spoiler free, except for the post right before this one, which I'm about to mark.

message 34: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Add Clockwork Angel and City of Fallen Angels to the list of books I need to read.

message 35: by Leea (new)

Leea Same here... I really want to read Clockwork Angel because Steampunk books are just so much fun :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Unedited scene from the upcoming book City of Lost Souls.

http://mortalinstruments.com/COLS-DSC...

Dare I say that this sounds like the beginning of (view spoiler) It doesn't say (view spoiler) I know they were interrupted though.

message 38: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Damn, I started reading that before I realized it said City of Fallen Angels, lol. I had to stop because I realized i was getting some serious spoilers. I really need to read Clockwork Angel and City of Fallen Angels. Maybe I'll do that for my challenge this month.

message 39: by Leea (new)

Leea I read it anyway... lol! I still need to also read Clockwork Angel and CoFA. haha!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Because I so read it wrong, I have to come back and edit the original post.

It wasn't the unedited scene from book 4, it's an unedited scene from book 5, which is not out yet. I don't care that I read it though because it's not really much of a spoiler to be honest.
