I don't know what other Sci-fi I've read. I like Narnia. The librarian said Watership Down was Fantasy.

message 53: by [deleted user] (new)

I like Princess Paisley. thats a fairytale. whoops.

message 54: by [deleted user] (new)

I think I want to read Star Wars for some reason.
And reread the WHOLE Deltora Quest.

message 55: by [deleted user] (new)

Wait, IDEA!!!
Jules Verne is Sci-fi, right?
And it is a classic.
And it has no cussing (as far as I know, cussing didn't exist back then.)
Maybe we should read something like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

message 56: by [deleted user] (new)

That sounds good. I didn't like a Journey to the Centre of the Earth, though.

I wouldn't mind any of those either. Star Wars does sound pretty good too, I just don't know what book of what series is first!

I'll have to ask my friend (he's a Star Wars/Trek fan).

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Anyway! Anyone else want to nominate some books? Please don't be shy. Hop right into the conversations.

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

How about a book to nominate for May?

message 62: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments We'll wait until the first week of April for that.

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

ok.

That is one of my favorites. I also love Fablehaven, and the Warriors books.

I love Everlost and Unwind, both by Neal Shusterman, and also the Host by Stephenie Meyer.

Wow, a Journey to the Center of the Earth was one of my favorites. As was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

message 65: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Yeah, I don't really think that the Inheritance Cycle would be in this group. It might though, haven't decided. If there are enough nominations and votes then we could read them maybe. I wouldn't mind reading Journey to the Center of the Earth or 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea though. I don't know about the Stephanie Meyer book though to tell you the truth. Don't take any offense if I reject books (to everyone).

message 66: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Duff Won't take offense.

Yeah, it's by the same author as Twilight, but it's an amazing Scifi read. The Host

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

Twilight is AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 68: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Duff I happen to like Twilight, but the Host is completely different - people who hate Twilight are crazy for the Host.

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never heard of the Host.

message 70: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn My parents wouldn't let me read The Host because of "Inappropriate content." Don't ask me what it is, cuz I obviously don't know.

message 71: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments I kinda question Stephani Meyers's books.

message 72: by [deleted user] (new)

me too.

message 73: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Yeah, definitely. The reason everybody likes them so much is because they are very visual, (namely, lots and lots of dialogue) and we are a very visual generation.

message 74: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Yeah.

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

too visual.

message 76: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn I didn't like them.

message 77: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments I don't even want to try. No one be offended by my comments please.

message 78: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't want to try.

message 79: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn I hope no one will be. They are very cliche and just plain out melodramatic.

message 80: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments Anyway, any other books people like (sorry Twilight fans, don't be offended).

message 81: by [deleted user] (new)

The Tale of Desperaux

message 82: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn I like The Time Quartet, by Madeline L'Engle.

message 83: by [deleted user] (new)

you read a lot!

message 84: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments The Time Quartet? You've read all these books I've never heard of. How many are on your read list?

message 85: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn One hundred and ninety, but I haven't added them all yet.

message 86: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn :)

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

w. onderful
o. riginal
w. atches

message 88: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments WHAT! I only have 86. I have 193 books total though. My list would be way bigger if I had really little children's books like Green Eggs and Ham. I could put The Hardy Boys I guess.

message 89: by [deleted user] (new)

46

message 90: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments I have 101 books on my to-read list.

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

9 on mine. I need to add way more.

message 92: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments It's embarrassing to have more on the to-read list than the read list. I need to read more ;',',',',',',(

message 93: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Haha, it took me forever to figure out that it spells W.O.W.

message 94: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments What spells W.O.W.?

message 95: by [deleted user] (new)

:)

message 96: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Kathryn Yeah! Wonderful Original Watches!

message 97: by [deleted user] (new)

:)

message 98: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Duff A lot of people don't like Twilight, and I guess I can see that even though I'm a lover, but The Host is completely different from those. The writing is better and it's a science fiction story. Just because you don't like Twilight, anyone should give the Host a try.

As for the 'Innappropriate Content' I think it's bad for someone under the age of, ohh... eleven? But after that you're fine. I read them at twelve and my parents are overprotective, but I had the advantage of reading all four Twilight books as well as the Host before my mother did. :P

message 99: by Connor (new)

Connor Kinkade (connork) | 1324 comments All right. I'll put it on the to-read list. You can nominate it whenever and we can vote on it (in whatever month it's nominated).

message 100: by [deleted user] (new)

wow lots of comments.

there's actually a movie called "the host". i don't know why it is rated R because all i saw was a mutant fish attacking people. *yawn*
