Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments It is so hard to rake Kleypas's heroes. **sigh**

That and $$$ issues is a big part of what's negative about the profession.

Most definitely! One day, I'd like to reread all her books.

Oh, Simon Hunt, what more is there to say? I totally agree with you, Danielle, I love his determination and self-confidence (on the outside). He reminds me a lot of Harry Rutledge, who is actually my number one. :)

Lemon | 5 comments I love Simon Hunt too. And Harry Rutledge is to die for. The thing is, he is so starched up but he actually really cracks me up. I love his quirks and little "curiosities." Simon and Harry are definitely in my top 5 LK heroes list.

It is really hard to rate LK's heroes for they all have something worthy about them. So I'll chicken out and not rate them. I'll just say that St. Vincent and Leo Hathaway are the very bottom of the list. *ducking the tomatoes*

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments @Lulu. No tomatoes thrown. To each their own! :)

@Aengell, I do see similarities b/w Simon and Harry. Harry is kind of a dark side Simon.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Yes, Simon and Harry are two of my favs. Even though I love Historical Romances, my absolute fav is Jack Travis. **sigh** I'm sure he's going to get a restraining order out on me, I've read his book so many times. LOL!

LOL. You know, I had no interest in reading her contemporaries. I spent a little time in Texas and the whole Texas macho thing just really doesn't appeal to me in real life, but I think I'll have to try
Smooth Talking Stranger. Lisa Kleypas is so talented, she manages to make even those storylines that are not appealing to me really good.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Yes. She has a gift!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments I think you should read Blue-Eyed Devil as well, Lulu. While others love Jack Travis, I am a Hardy Cates girl! :)

*I live in Texas and the cowboys just aren't like the books. Sadly.*

message 62: by Holly (new)

Holly Shields I have to agree that all the men in the Wallflowers series were yummy, but Jack Travis was yummalicious!!! Ohhhhh Jack!!! Smooth Talking Stranger is my #1.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Yummalicious? LOL! Love it, Holly.

Sounds good, am adding that one to the TBR pile.

*sigh* Danielle, they never are as good in real life. ;)

Same here. The story with Cam, Sebastian and Harry are the best one for me *Dreamy sighhhhh*

message 66: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Yes, Mirou, I love those two series.

Maria Wood | 3 comments If I had to recommend the best contemporary Lisa Kleypas novel, I couldn't go past Blue Eyed Devil. If you only ever read one of her books this has to be it. Love love love it.

Totally agree. Love, love, love Hardy!

E. (dilawrosas) | 507 comments Well, the book would be Devil in Winter (Wallflowers, #3) by Lisa Kleypas . And a few others.

message 70: by JennyG (new)

JennyG | 5 comments Both the book and the hero would be Simon from Secrets of a Summer Night.
