I've enjoyed this challenge better than any EVER and thank those who designed it profusely. I may have to only touch on the next one as, frankly, I'm exhausted from reading almost a book a day for a month. That's more than I ever attempted and I really did stretch this time. For the rest of my fellow challengers, I feel you are now my faceless friends and hope you enjoy the Historical Fictionistas next challenge as I have and ENJOY, like me, a good read...

Sorry, thanks.
Since I am kinda new to this group and the mini challenge was my first one here...I just had a light bulb moment when I saw the next real challenge...my mini-challenge amount of reading is like 20% of the members who participate in the real deal monthly challenge book reads. Yikes.
Babs wrote: "Since I am kinda new to this group and the mini challenge was my first one here...I just had a light bulb moment when I saw the next real challenge...my mini-challenge amount of reading is like 20%..."Welcome to the challenges Babs! Don't think of it as a competition among members, just challenge yourself and do what you can. It's all about enjoying reading and plugging books into the challenge format for fun. And like Luckngrace said, you can burn out easily if you try to do too much, just enjoy!
Ditto on Jen's post. We have some speedy readers, but the challenge is really about challenging yourself to go out of your comfort zone and pick books you may not normally choose or read books that have been sitting on your shelves for awhile. The competition is really friendly. You do what you can and no one is required to complete the entire challenge. I can tell you that many do not complete the entire challenge, myself included. :)
No, it was just call The Negro. I found it earlier on GR but it just wouldn't come up for this add book purpose. Every title had "black" in the title instead of negro. It had a plain black & white cover with no picture at all and was written in 1912. I got it free on Kindle and recommend others read the physical book because then they could see the maps that go with practically every page. Also, it seems most of WEB DuBois's books have negro in the title.
JenC. wrote: "Babs wrote: "Since I am kinda new to this group and the mini challenge was my first one here...I just had a light bulb moment when I saw the next real challenge...my mini-challenge amount of readin..."I can see what fun it is to plug books into the different categories...for sure and will take a look at my TBR and see what is there.
Am I correct that books we read in the challenges are not really for discussion unless maybe a few people are reading the same one at the same time and start a separate thread?
Babs wrote: "JenC. wrote: "Babs wrote: "Since I am kinda new to this group and the mini challenge was my first one here...I just had a light bulb moment when I saw the next real challenge...my mini-challenge am..."You can give your opinion when you post your book, or ask another member how they liked a book they posted, and sometimes a mini discussion results within the challenge, but our group has monthly group reads that you can discuss at length in a different section. I think the next one is Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution. You can even go back to old discussions of books and add your opinion. We read The Historian back in November and people still comment on it.

Congrats to the top ladies!! My hubs always thinks I am a bookie monster, but I keep assuring him that there are people that read far more than I. :-)Great job!
Wow Luckngrace!!! I am also happy for myself, finished nr twelve but jsut read the books how I ahd scheduled them and then checked if they matched or not. Thanks Heather!
I enjoyed this one more than any yet. I got a chance to read a lot of the old books with the beautiful covers and didn't have to look for thick books with high page counts. I'm finding the April/May challenge much harder. The books just aren't lining up begging to be read like the last one. But I look forward to seeing what all of you are reading, so SPRING into reading everyone.
