Demeter: A Painted House by John Grisham
This story is about a family's life during cotton harvest season. The protagonist is the seven year old son and his life, experiences, and thoughts - all related to the work in the cotton fields, living with the hill people and the Mexicans (both hired help) and how he interacts with his community (neighbors and town folks).

I am interested in getting balance into my life - relationship, work, finances. This book has given me several ways I might do that. Some that appealed most to me were: trying a beginning yoga course, doing a visualization board, working on affirmations, and creating a meditation/prayer space in my home.

The first scene is set on a ship and the arrival of this ship effects the action of the rest of the play.
c. Builder and building
World Without End by Ken Follett
Much of the action centers around the builder, Merthyn, who is a central character of the book. It's a sequel to Pillars of the Earth and it continues to focus on the construction of cathedrals and also the building of a bridge. The details are fascinating!
