I've heard nothing but good things about I Am The Messanger tooo, so I loaned it from the library and couldn't get past page 13. Let me know if it gets better. I might need to read a couple of trashy romance novels, then come back to it. ; )

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments I just finished Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson and it was really good. Better than I expected, rated it 4 stars.

Lyle Kimo Valdez (eskablong) | 40 comments Finished with Leviathan and currently reading Death's Shadow while I'm looking for a copy of Behemoth. :D

Revenge of the Witch I heard from a friend that it's good, but I haven't read it yet.

I'm about 1/3 of the way through and I'm liking it so far. I think it's awesome that he can write so differently. A lot of authors fall into the same pattern and just switch up the characters and setting, but this is so completely different from The Book Thief. It's good, though!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I rewarded myself for getting a whole day ahead with NanoWriMo by starting a new book.

So reading Liar. Was at the library with no idea of what to get and I remembered all the controversy about this books cover. Bad reason to get a book but so far I'm enjoying it.

message 4158: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Amanda I listened to I Am the Messenger on audio and fell a little in love with the Aussie narrator - perhaps you can try the audiobook?

Traci I totally agree with you about the book being totally different than the Book Thief. They are both great books - what a great writer he is!

Catherine (cattymccat) | 95 comments I got Blood Song (Bloodsinger, #1) by Cat Adams in the mail today. Is it any good?

I have a huge 'thing' for guys with accents, so maybe I will see if I can get it on audio at my library.

message 4161: by Heidi (new)

Heidi OH you would love him then Amanda! I also recommend Year of Secret Assignments on audio for the accents alone!

message 4162: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments Just finished Bruiser by Neal Shusterman and I'm totally going to throw a huge recommendation out there. It was an awesome book, I gave it 5 stars. If you like Neal Schusterman's work, I recommend reading it. It just came out in August.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments FYI Bloody Jack is SO FREAKING GOOD in audiobook. Almost done. Seriously I would buy these rather than just library them, they're that good.

message 4164: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Yay Cassi! Bloody Jack on audio rocks!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I love it when she sings. So sad I'll finish the book tomorrow.

The book synopsis to me was really weak. The book blew me away compared to what was written on the back cover.

message 4181: by Lyle Kimo (new)

Lyle Kimo Valdez (eskablong) | 40 comments Just finished reading Graceling. Didn't like it as much as I thought I would, but it was still a great read. Maybe not just for me. :D

Gonna read something light next, Among the Hidden (Shadow Children, #1) by Margaret Peterson Haddix maybe.

message 4182: by Tracy T. (new)

Tracy T. I just finished Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White and I thought it was really good. I like how there was a focus on paranormal beings other than vampires/werewolves/faerie.

I saw it in a used-books shop along with
Found (The Missing, #1) by Margaret Peterson Haddix . My friend recommended that to me so I bought it. :D

Arphaxad | 335 comments Oh for a good used-books shop.. :)

message 4186: by Lyle Kimo (new)

Lyle Kimo Valdez (eskablong) | 40 comments Hehe. I always go by that shop at least once a week to see if they have anything good. It's where I got my copy of Graceling. ^_^

message 4187: by Amanda (last edited Nov 11, 2010 07:40AM) (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments I try to stop at least once a week also. I have one close by, so I usually stop on my way to work. I picked up The Knife of Never Letting Go last week, that made me quite happy : )

message 4189: by Jamie (new)

Jamie (bookworm20) | 67 comments I ordered a series that I just heard about called, "Prowlers," by Christopher Golden. They are kind of hard to find elsewhere so I was able to get used copies from Amazon. In case, anyone was looking for a good paranormal book/series to try. :)

I won't get them until next week though. :( That kinda blows.

Has anyone else read them?

message 4190: by Jamie (new)

Jamie (bookworm20) | 67 comments And I completely put that last comment in the wrong discussion page. SORRY!

message 4198: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Amanda wrote: "I've never read her books, but I just added a few to read."

IMO you have to be ok with the following to read Meg Cabot: 1. Pop culture references, 2. Fashion references, 3. Geeky girls placed in dream situations (ie Princess Diaries), 4. snarky humor, and 5. Geeky boys as main love interests. If you are ok with all this you will be fine.

message 4199: by Jamie (new)

Jamie (bookworm20) | 67 comments Amanda wrote: "I've never read her books, but I just added a few to read."

The Mediator Series is good, I would recommend those. She has some other series that I haven't read yet and some pretty good stand-alone books. :) AND everything that Heidi just said.
Happy reading!

Laura | 10 comments Hush, Hush- Becca Fitzpatrick. I'm liking it, but the jury is still out. I've read a lot of books like this, not sure how original it is yet.
