Young Adult Fiction for Adults discussion
What are you reading now?
In case anyone was looking for it, Outlander is free for Kindle over at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Outlander-with-...
If you don't have a physical Kindle (you poor, poor, neglected person), then you can download Kindle software for your computer, phone, or web (though web is really new so kind of buggy).

Oh so now I am a poor poor neglected person!
I just finished Mockingjay, in The Hunger Games Series. It is amazing! I would recomend starting with the 1st book The Hunger Games though.
Awww, you know I didn't mean it. Just get a hardback book, they're practically the same thing you know.
I downloaded Outlander. Thank you, Peep!
BTW, I'm halfway through the third book in the My Blood Approves series by Amanda Hocking and she finally used "than" instead of "then"! That's progress! Woohoo!

Louise--I'm getting much more optimistic about Radiant Shadows! Seems like most people are pretty happy with it. I think I'll finally check it out of the library. My reading time is really limited because I'm in medical school. Since we just had an exam today, and I have some free time now, I'm going to the library tomorrow to stock up on some non-medical books! I'm excited!
WOW!!! I'm amazed. I work in a hospital and med students NEVER have time for ANYTHING else ha ha. You must be gifted :)
Still trying to get through
. Everyone said it was amazing and better than it's processor but I disagree. I really dislike Fire. Plus the romantic lead SUCKS.Next to read: either
or
. Probably the first because it's on loan...I also haven't had much time for reading lately! I've read nearly nothing since the middle of September - I think I've been reading the same book for over a week which I've NEVER done before!

This cracked me up. I ended up having to half skim the My Blood Approves series books because the grammar, and lack of editing just drove me crazy. I think the stories are good, they kept me wanting to read the next one. But why she couldn't proof read and edit her own work is beyond me.

So glad to see someone recommend my THE SEER series!! Thanks!I just finished reading CLOCKWORK ANGEL -- very good! I have a big list on my want-to-read list on Goodreads - so many amazing YA/MG books coming out.
I also have a short DEAD GIRL-SEER story on my website ( www.LindaJoySingleton.com ) which anyone can read for free -- a gift to my fans.

I wasn't as crazy about FIRE because of the heroine being unlikeable at first. It does get better. I much prefer GRACELING.
Peep wrote: "Ok, in case anyone was wondering I did not like The Pace. I thought people on here liked it??"Ha! I got that from your previous comment about the book. I'll skip it since we have similar tastes :)
It's official: I am going to sit down and read Clockwork Angel. I should have it done this weekend. Keyword being SHOULD. I am so bad at starting and finishing the same book, I usually jump around a lot.

Oh I love that series Tracy. I can hardly wait for the last one to come out.
Currently reading The Lightning Thief. I find it interesting and enjoyable although I don't really like the fact-paced style of writing. It looks like a script for a movie (and the movie is actually pretty different from the book, heh). I didn't expect it to be like that. I read somewhere that the author wrote this book because his son asked him to. I guess he didn't put too much effort in the writing, just wanting to entertain his son... But I'm curious to finish it and read the other sequels! :P
Cecilia,The Lightning Thief movie is extremely different from the book but I loved the book, I have two more in the series but just never have found time to read them.
Right now I am reading a ARC of
..have to start getting me some October fun books agoing..LOL Then I think I am going to try
Well, I understand why they made the script like that. Obviously, it's not meant to have a sequel. Things are of course better explained in the book, so I was skeptical when I saw the movie, but reading the book explains some questions I had. It's a fun quick read!
I'm mainly reading Dark Lover still, but I've been bringing The Lightning Thief to work with me (because people always ask me what I'm reading, and I'm not going to lie.. explaining Dark Lover would make my cheeks pink) and it's a really strange transition going from Beth and Wrath to Percy Jackson hahahah I'm not very far because I only get to read about 15 minutes a day but it's okay so far. Much "younger" than I thought it'd be.
The last one was the best of the series and yes, they are definitely middle grade. I hope the new series is a little more mature cause I actually really enjoyed Riordan's fast-paced but informational writing style.

I've been shelving it for quite a while, I figured it was time to start. It's definately an eye opener from Percy Jackson ; )
I'm reading Losing Faith by Denise Jaden. It is a bit of a heavy subject but it's an excellent book that I would definitely recommend.

I liked the Seer series. The last book, Magician's Muse comes out on the 6th of October.
If you like the Seer books, try reading Blue Is For Nightmares collection of books. They are similar and just as good.
