I'm still trying to finish Going Bovine, though my plan to get it done before school started has failed. I'm still plugging away. I've also started The Awakening to keep in my backpack and read during breaks at school. Yesterday I finished Eyes Like Stars on audio and started listening to Fire.
Also, I put a hold on The Hunger Games at my library (all copies are out, and there's a wait-list) because all of your comments made me realize I have to read this series. I thought it would take a while for the book to come back and I could finish what I have while I wait - but I was e-mailed yesterday the book was ready for pick up! Lots of reading to do. :)
Just finished
and it was pretty good, I sort of figured out the ending a bit to easily and there was a few times I got aggravated with the characters but over all I liked it. This was my first Cassie Clare novel, so I don't know about her other series, but in this one it left a nice little cliffhanger ending...aaaaaaaaaah!!! I like them but I hate them at the same time...lolNow I am not sure what I am going to read...so many choices..ugh. :)
Just finished two different books.
was dark and delightful. It was a little slow for me to be totally blown away by it, but it was deeply intriguing too.
: I know a lot of people really loved this book. I'm not one of them. It was okay, but I had a real dislike for the protagonist.
Now reading fragile & a reliable wife... I brought 5 books 2day that I hope 2 be done in the next 2-3weeks...
Just finished
and I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I think City of Bones was much better. There were many similarities in the format of both stories, though. I had my first day of classes today and I have a strong feeling my reading for fun will be put to an almost stand-still :( stupid college.
Going to try to start
tomorrow... we'll see how long it takes me to get through it.
Cassi wrote: "Started I am the Messenger on audio (per someone heres suggestion)."I loved this Cassi! I listened to it, but went and got the book from the library too...so I didn't miss anything....it has a great message!!
I've just finished the series, The Demonata by Darren Shan. Anyone here finished reading it? And I'm now about to finish the first book of the 39 clues, The Maze of Bones...

I am always chuckling at you guys who are so in love with Mockingjay and your reactions when you received them and everything, then today I got a ARC in the mail....LOL The Drake Chronicles is one of my favorite series: Hearts at Stake, Blood Fued..love them by Alyxandra Harvey...well today I got the ARC for Out for Blood which is book THREE!! I just about screamed...LOL So now I can't make fun of anymore of you Mockingjay people..HEHEHEHEHE
I am readin City of Bones By Cassandra Clare. Since I have picked up the book I cannot seem to put it down. It is great.
I am reading Kushiel's Avatar . A little more racy then what I usually read since it is an adult book, but I ran out of young adult books to read. I'm in the peace corps and have a horrible time trying to get my hands on a good YA book. Sigh. Oh well.
You'll have to report in on how much it ties in with the Fever series, if you've read that too.I hear that there are some ties between the two, and this book is in my TBR list.

I'm reading Artemis Fowl: Atlantis Complex.

Very middle of the road?

I will let you know. That is the reason I got it from the library, someone told me it ties in with the Fever series and I just finished that.
Beth wrote: "Made it through one Artemis Fowl and never went back."That book kinda reminded me of Stormbreaker by Anothony Horowitz. They are both geared towards young teens, like 12-14 ae range maybe.
Mary wrote: "I am readin City of Bones By Cassandra Clare. Since I have picked up the book I cannot seem to put it down. It is great."Mary, I have read them all three times, my granddaughter has read them four times and both of my sons and my brother have read and loved them. They cross all ages and both genders!
Mary wrote: "I am readin City of Bones By Cassandra Clare. Since I have picked up the book I cannot seem to put it down. It is great."I felt the same way when I started reading them last week...and I am now currently working on the third one :D
Just finished Evermore, by Alison Noel, and can't believe I actually gagged my way through that book. Two thumbs DOWN. Luckily now I'm rereading HP 2, and am falling in love with dear old Harry all over again. :)
OliviaJo wrote: "Just finished Evermore, by Alison Noel, and can't believe I actually gagged my way through that book. Two thumbs DOWN. Luckily now I'm rereading HP 2, and am falling in love with dear old Harry all..."It got much worse in the second book, that's when I dropped it :P
Well, OliviaJo and Amy, you're better than me. I dropped the series after the third book yet find myself with the fourth book on my shelf from the library. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment because I'm hoping it'll get better but know that it won't...
I just started The Hunger Games last night. She is on the train heading for the Capitol and already I am hooked.Just finished Linger.
I just finished Clockwork Angel and did my review. Five stars but not as good as the Mortal Instruments books. Am reading Descendant: Chrohicles of the Ipswich Witch but not all that crazy about it. Interesting concept but kind of tedious reading.
Xerxes Break/Belorussia (Ephona) wrote: "I'm reading the Uglies Series and am currently on Specials. Also, I'm going to be having a summer reading fest so any books you want to recommend would be great! Just in a different topic!"I heard the Uglies was really good. When I went to the bookstore they had the 2nd and 3rd book but not the first?? Weird. So you are liking it so far?
Emily (Super Reader Girl Reviews) wrote: "Jenniwindtalker, I really liked the Uglies series. I think the first one may have been my favorite and you should definitely start with that one. Does your library have an online request system w..."Yeah but I think I am going to see if someone I know has it already. We tend to buy the books and then share them or exchange them :)
I just finished reading "The Book Thief" by Marcus Zuzak, and it's wonderful. A beautifully written story about the importance of words. This novel takes serious topics, such as the Holocaust, persecution and suicide, and weaves them in a way that is approachable and welcomed in YA Fiction. Definitely pick it up if you haven't already!

Just finished Mockingjay last week - Liked it for the most part. Not my favorite of the series but still a worthy read.I finished Clock Work Angel today and I LOVED it!
I actually liked it better than Cassandra Clare's first three. Now I think I may have to re-read those to make sure I did not unjustly review them with 3 stars.
I just finished it too but didn't like it as well as the MI books. But if you only gave them three stars we would not agree! LOL I would have given them ten each if I could. I did give them all five and Clockwork Angel five too. The MI books are my favorite YA books that I have read.
I'm currently reading The Hunger Games and just started the Uglies Series as well. Both are really hard to put down, and I look forward to reading more.
I finished Hunger Games and will be starting Catching Fire tonight. I really liked the narration of the story by the main character, drew me right in emotionally and held my attention to the very end, making me 'hungry' for more on these characters and unique society. Will not disappoint and for many reasons appeals to young adults and adults.
OliviaJo wrote: "Just finished Evermore, by Alison Noel, and can't believe I actually gagged my way through that book. Two thumbs DOWN. Luckily now I'm rereading HP 2, and am falling in love with dear old Harry all..."I read them all. Yes, I did. I only read them becasue I was hopeing that Ever would finally 'man' up and stop being a bubbling whiney baby. Book #5, Nightstar, comes out nov 23rd. I think it is the last so I will read it just to finish the story. I read it as a filler and I have an issue wiht not finishing a series so I suckered myself into finishing them. They were o.k. for me. I also agree I didn't really think they got better as the series went along. Also, I got Radiance by Alyson Noel from the library today, it is a story about Ever's sister, Riley and their dog buttercup. It is also going to be a series, a spin-off from Evermore. It was worse than Evermore. Very pre-teen.
