Finished Jellicoe Road last night, and while it was really strange and hard to get into in the beginning, I'm very glad I stuck with it. It was a good read :)

I picked up Clockwork Angel this morning but I haven't had a chance to really start it yet.. I'm very excited about it though.

Neal Shusterman's Unwindis on my favorite books list. I highly recommend it!!!!!
Before I Fall is another book I loved.
I purchased Clockwork Angel today, I am hopeing to get to it soon.

Just finished which I absolutely loved! This is such a great spin on fey lore that it makes me giddy to read it. Plus the love story is fabulous. I swoon for Ash!

If you're going to read a Jennifer Echols novel I suggest Going Too Far. It's one of my favorite books. Keep in mind I don't anaylze stories or try to garner anything from them. I read purely to be entertained. It takes a lot to take me out of a story or turn me off to a character (I'm pretty forgiving).

Anyone read Stormbreaker by Anothony Horowitz. I just got it from the library and I'm going to crack it open later tonight.
I am also trying to get to Clockwork Angel by CAssandra Clare and Birthmarked by Caragh O'Brien this week. I have a feeling it's gonna take me almost a week to get through Clockwork Angel, so it's on the back burner right now.

Heather the Hunger Games series is another that was terrific. I wasn't sure if I would like it because I like many of the series you mentioned but I enjoyed it immensely.

House of Night series is pretty good. The first couple of books are good, and book #7 is really good, I think #5 and #6 were the two that got a little boring, but I am waiting for the next to come out.


Try The Seer series, the first book is Don't Die, Dragonfly by Linda Joy Singleton, or Blue is for Nightmares series, Blue Is For Nightmares is good too.
If you don't mind swearing in your books, try Strange Angels series by Lili St. Crow. It is my favorite series.

Unwind by Neal Shusterman is sort of along the same lines as The Hunger games, a sci-fi-ish book. It is one of my fav's also.
Shade is another good book, but it's the first in the series and just relased.
Or try 13 to Life, also the first in a new series.

Heather - I read the first several books of the HON series but I refuse to read anymore. It has dragged on for too long and there are too many other great books out there. Based on the series you mentioned, you should really like City of Bones and Shiver.

Kourtni - My hubby needs to get a move on! I am going to start it after I finish Twenty Boy Summer, whether he is finished or not. ;)

Both City of Bones and Shiver are better than House of Night. HoN is something that many of us only read now because we're already invested in the series, and not because it's on our favorites list. I consider it more of a guilty pleasure than anything.

The other series, and I only read back to page 65 so I apologize Heather if you have read it, but
Life As We Knew It is an excellent series. The first one is a girl in PA, 2nd about a boy in NY, and the third which I am reading about now is where they both end up meeting. The 39 Clue series is pretty good; as is Rick Riordans book:The Red Pyramid|7090447]
Also, if you want some quick reads the Jessica Darling Series by Megan McCafferty is pretty good.

I'm starting Nobody's Princess, mainly cause I want something different from all the dystopian I'm reading.

It wasn't necessarily BAD, I just wasn't feeling it today. I am going to try again in a few days. I think I am in a book funk. Everything I pick up seems to suck. I even tried to read Clockwork Angel and shut the book after chapter one. Mockingjay really did me in and I think I'm going ot have to read the 'effin book again just to get over it.

Amanda- That happens to me sometimes, too! When I read certain books it takes forever to get them out of my head and then there's no way that I can try to get absorbed in a new world. It sucks, but what can you do?

I liked Nobody's Princess Cassi, although it's a bit on the MG side of YA just as a warning. I thought it would be a bit more grown up, but it isn't.

Amanda, I have been like that since reading Sarah's Key. The books have been ok but I can't get into them the way I usually do. Mockingjay is bring me out of that slump though. I hope you find something soon to get you going again.

I just got Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. I was at the library picking up the new Danielle Steel and the librarian held it up and said it was for me and I'm not embarrassed to tell you, I screamed! Everyone stared at me of course but I've been waiting forever to read the final in the trilogy!!!

I'm okay with middlegrade. Earlier this year I read a really fun middle grade novel. Sometimes I feel like I just don't know the genre very well at all.

And MG might work for me coming off of dystopians (and before reading Blameless by Gail Carriger - my bookstore didn't have it for the release day so I had to order it!!)
