Shiver is one of those books categoried into either you love it or you despise it. I loved it. I cried, it was so sad and happy, the ending is a huge cliff hanger, so make sure to read Linger which is the next in the series.
Have any of you read
? I really want to read it but it isn't available at my library. I was just wondering if it is worth buying!
I just started reading The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong. Bought this at the airport and started reading it on the plane back.. Loving it so far..
Just finished
and I thought it was really powerful. I love books that are true to life. Going to start
tomorrow..
Traci, Jellicoe Road is one of my favorite books! I don't know if anyone has warned you yet, but it's really confusing through the first 135 pages, then it all starts to make sense. Then when you've finished the book, you have to go back and reread the begining! Just make it through those first 135 pages!!! It a heartwarming yet tragic story and a mystery too. I bought it and read it ever few weeks.

by the same author and loved it! What a great story that was! I tried Jellicoe Road a few months ago but never finished it. I'm thinking now I might pick it up from the library.
Lazuline wrote: "Currently reading

At the moment I'm reading the third book of the Evermore series
. I'm still at the beginning and I'm already shure that it's not going to be one of the best books I read lately. Ever's behaviour isn't really nice, she seems to be a different person, which I think is confusing.
Janina, I started reading
the week it came out. I didn't get far into it and out it down to read another new release and have yet to pick it back up. Hopefully you'll be able to convince me to restart it again after ou have finsihed it.

I've heard good things and I'm excited to see how it comes together :)
Just got back from vacation and finished
which I really liked. (Thanks, Kourtni! We're still book twins!)
I let my hubby read Mockingjay first and he is taking forever! Grrrr!

IMO Ever hasn't matured one lick from the first book and nothing really seems to happen in Shadowland. I unfortunately wasted money on the books, but I won't be making that mistake. I don't think I'm even going to pick up the fourth book.
BTW-I'm over halfway through
and loving it! Can't wait to get to the end!!!
Bluemoon wrote: "Pam wrote: "Just starting "The Journal of Curious Letters", bk 1 of the 13th Reality series."How are you liking it? I have it on my TBR pile, but haven't gotten around to it yet."
Bluemoon, it's definitely geared more for the MG crowd than straight up YA. I'm enjoying it -- a breezy quick read-- but the story is developing rather slowly.
Shannen, My husband is few chapters behind me in Mockingjay but he reads it in the morning before I get up. He wanted something to take to work today so I sent him with City of Bones. He loes the TV show Supernatural so I thought he might like that sereies.
Lani, thank you for letting me know aboutShadowland. I think I might just take the 3 I have into the used bookstore and use the credit towards something else that I WILL like.Sorry, about only using everyones names, I don't know how to do the Qoute thing.
I started to hear so much about The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins, that I picked it up and read it in two days. It was tough to put down. I'm about to start the second, Catching Fire. Can't wait! FYI - the audio version of Hunger Games is horrible. The actor's voice is so irritating that it just wrecks the story.
Those who have read
, does it pick up the pace as you go along because right now I am finding a little boring ??
Stormi wrote: "Those who have read

Shannen wrote: "Now I'm reading Twenty Boy Summer. "I love that book! One of my all-time favorite titles. It's been almost a year since I read it, but I still find myself thinking about it sometimes. Do you like it so far?
Heidi wrote: "I started to hear so much about The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins, that I picked it up and read it in two days. It was tough to put down. I'm about to start the second, Catching Fire. Can't wait..."Totally agree about the Hunger Games audiobook narrator - terrible!
Janina, the Evermore series was o.k. for me. It was interesting emough to keep reading it, but it isn't one of my favorites. I think Ever just gets more and more superficial throughout the series. ugh. Rosabell, I really loved the Dark Powers triology, The Summoning, The Awakening and The Reckoning. I ended up buying them because I wanted to keep re-reading them.
Finished
and am still digesting it. I'm moving on to
, hopefully a nice light romance with well developed characters (as has been my experience with other Echols books)
Amanda wrote: "Janina, the Evermore series was o.k. for me. It was interesting emough to keep reading it, but it isn't one of my favorites. I think Ever just gets more and more superficial throughout the series...."Me, too! It's a series never get sick of!
Lani, I read Forget You last week and I just want to mention that is it may not be worth your time. I was really excited to read it and it's was a total dud for me. If you are looking for a similar book try Along for the Ride by Sara Dessen. It is a good book, quite similar to Forget You, but MUCH MUCH better. Here is my review on Forget you: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/71...
I'm going to be starting the This World We Live In... I can't wait till Mockingjay comes in! I had pre-ordered it with another pre-order from amazon, and now I'm waiting... should be here soon.
I didn't even finish Forget You, I just couldn't get into it and really didn't care for the lead female character at all.
I just finished Shiver a matter of hours ago and absolutely loved it. Ready to go get the second book Linger now.
Amanda and Stormi-Have either of you read any else of Jennifer Echols? I'm a fan of her stuff so I was just wondering how Forget You compares.I've read Along for the Ride and really liked it. I'm a big Dessen fan.
Lani,No I haven't and trying to read Forget You makes me not so sure that I want too...if I did what do you recommend?
Amanda wrote: "Janina, the Evermore series was o.k. for me. It was interesting emough to keep reading it, but it isn't one of my favorites. It's interesting.. I bought this at the airport last week while traveling and it was just a spontaneous buy.. and like the comment made at the back of the book, "you'll be desperate for a sequel".. I think I might go hunting for the sequel at the bookstores soon :)
Heidi wrote: "I started to hear so much about The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins, that I picked it up and read it in two days. It was tough to put down. I'm about to start the second, Catching Fire. I'm loving it too... only halfway through... it's very interesting and I want to buy the sequel..
Has anyone here read Clockwork Angel yet? If so do you think because I have never read The Mortal Instrument series that I might find this one a bit confusing or is it entirely a different world? I have already found a reference to The Mortal Instruments that is why I am wondering..I haven't really found it confusing but I am only 100 pages in..just curioius. :) I have heard a lot of people speak of it as a continuation.
Lani wrote: "Amanda and Stormi-Have either of you read any else of Jennifer Echols? I'm a fan of her stuff so I was just wondering how Forget You compares.I've read [book:Along for the Ride|5..."
I have not read any other Jennifer Echols books. I have 2 on my to-read shelf, I do want to give the author another try. It wasn't the writing style that turned me off. I felt the plot was pretty thin and some parts of the book seemed to be thrown in and didn't really have anything to do with the rest of the book. The book ended and I just felt like I wasted 4 hours reading about a story that never concluded. I think I physically said "UGH" after I read it. What books of hers do you recommend to read?
Stormi wrote: "Has anyone here read Clockwork Angel yet? If so do you think because I have never read The Mortal Instrument series that I might find this one a bit confusing or is it entirely a different world? I..."According to the author you do not have to read The Mortal Insturments first. Also, I felt The Mortal Insturments series was confusing at first. They pretty much throw you into the story and then explain things as they come up. The Clockwork Angel is supposed to be the same 'world' as you put it, but a different time. I think The Mortal Insturment series is set in like 2007 and the Infernal Devices series in set in the 1800's, so it is like a prequel. I loved The Mortal Insturments series! It's one of my favorites and I plan on purchasing The Clockwork Angel this week and reading it. Let me know what you think.
Currently reading Catching Fire (Suzanne Collins). This is second time reading this, wanted to refresh myself on this series before I read Mockingjay and I'm really glad I did. I either forgot quite a bit from these two the first time around, or I am getting more from them this time. Absolutely love these books, hoping to knock this one out tonight so I can get started on Mockingjay. Yay!
I just finished Neal Shusterman's UNWIND.
Before that, I read a children's title everyone can appreciate and enjoy
by Sharon Draper.
I am currently reading Mickingjay and I am very surprised at how dark it is.... A little over written in spaces but so far I really good book.... I am looking for more suggestions of what to read next, should be done Mockingjay by Thursday (if work permits
