Lori (tyme2read) I just started Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay I am about 50 pages in and I am enjoying it. tough topic but well written. I am half way through Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater and with the boys I am reading Magic Tree House #37 Dragon of the Red Dawn by Mary Pope Osborne

I am stilll fighting my way through The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (Flavia de Luce, #1) by Alan Bradley I am just not able to get into this one. BUT I amhalf way through so I WILL finish it,lol

message 2702: by Marlene (new)

Marlene (fuzzycerts) I'm taking a break from The Complete Novels of Jane Austen and re-reading The Hunger Games. I'm about halfway through and I still feel kind of meh about it. I'm still excited for Mockingjay though lol

message 2703: by Dija (new)

Dija Just started Fire Study (Study, #3) by Maria V. Snyder

Emma (emmauk007) Marlene wrote: "I'm taking a break from The Complete Novels of Jane Austen and re-reading The Hunger Games. I'm about halfway through and I still feel kind of meh about it. I'm still ..."

Hi Marlene, I think I am one of the few that didnt absolutely love The Hunger Games. I thought it was ok but like alot of books these days I dont think it deserved all the hype. It kind of reminded me of the film with Arnie, and there are books that have delved into that kind of thing before. I wouldnt say I hated it,it was quite entertaining but I just thought it was ok.

message 2705: by Jessica (new)

Jessica I finished Linger a few days ago and have to agree with some of the other comments that it took awhile to get into, but I enjoyed it in the end. I started Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception this morning because the wait for The Hunger Games is so long at the library and so far, so good.

message 2706: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Kourtni - Dead Until Dark was just ok for me as well. I skipped Fire Study all together, and I am also set to start the 5th BDB book soon (I already checked it out from the library).

message 2707: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 415 comments I'm really enjoying reading The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey (Mysterious Benedict Society, #2) by Trenton Lee Stewart . Just a fun read. By chance I was looking over the shoulder of the women in front of me on the bus and saw that she happened to be reading the first book! (Pretty random chance)

♡Meme♡Reads love♡ | 68 comments I'm reading Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater but I had to stop for awhile
it is kinda going slow

message 2709: by Susan (new)

Susan Meme wrote: "I'm reading Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater but I had to stop for awhile

It gets better. And then Linger is great. But that's my opinion :)

I am contemplating puting fire study aside until I can get through some of the books I am more enthusiastic to read. I'm really kind of disappointed about that. :/ I was hoping to love it as much as the first two.

message 2711: by Traci (new)

Traci Just started Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer and even though I'm only about 40 pages in, I'm really liking it so far. Oskar's pretty hilarious but I can tell this is going to be quite a sad read.

message 2712: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 97 comments I just finished Fire Study (Study, #3) by Maria V. Snyder and although the author's writing style bothered me from time to time, I still really enjoyed it. I thought it was a good end to the series. I will miss reading about Valek and Yelena though.

Now Im moving on to read City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare . I hope I enjoy it as much as most of you have!

message 2713: by Ashalyn (new)

Ashalyn | 4 comments I usually read 2-3 books at a time because of how I read them (usually one on audio while I work and one on my ebook reader. Currently I am finishing up the Vampire Kisses and Night World Series, also just started the Pendragon series.

message 2714: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments I'm currently reading Graceling, and although I'm only on page 25, I'm really enjoying it so far! I'm hoping the rest will be as good as the beginning! Although I DESPISE the third person narration, as everybody who knows me is aware...I feel like I'm right there with Katsa!

message 2715: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I'm reading Hunger (Horsemen of the Apocalypse, #1) by Jackie Morse Kessler and listening to Beat the Reaper by Josh Bazell and am enjoying both.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Okay, I had to add Hunger to my upcoming TBR list. That book sounds interesting.

Rebecca did you see that there have been 3 more books added to the series?
So that means. ... yes! More than 2 years of waiting now for The Mortal Instruments series to be complete. Ugh. :(

message 2718: by Traci (new)

Traci Amy.. I saw that the other day and I actually got really excited! not only are there three more Mortal Instruments coming, but also the three Infernal Devices! I love having books to look forward to :)

message 2719: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 97 comments Amy, I didn't know there are 3 more books. I did hear that the 4th one comes out sometime next year and the first book in her other series is coming out at the end of this month.

Im about 150 pages into The City of Bones and Im really liking it. My friend said they only get better with each book.

message 2720: by Desperado (new)

Desperado (lethallovely) The YA novel I'm reading right now is Soul Enchilada by David Macinnis Gill .

I was a little hesitant about reading it because I wasn't sure how well a white man would be able to portray a multiracial woman but so far, I'm amazed.

Becca | 1608 comments Campbell wrote: "I just joined this group so... I know none of you people. ;)

Hey Campbell! No one has answered you so far so I thought I'd say something. I adore the Eragon series. It is one of my favorites. I didn't think the story was slow at all and I thought it was incredibly well done for the author only being 18 when he wrote it. The second and third books were even better than the first. I've re-read the series several times and I'm anxiously awaiting a release date for the fourth book.

message 2722: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments By the way, I finished Sloppy Firsts and Everwild while on vacation and I loved them! Jessica Darling is one of my favorite teenage angst characters ever.

I'm getting the chills just thinking about Everwild. If you haven't read this series, check it out. It's awesome!

message 2723: by Miri (new)

Miri (miriamarosen) | 10 comments Just finished 13 to life 13 to Life (13 to Life, #1) by Shannon Delany this morning good book, takes most of the novel to get meaty substance but you've pretty much figured it out anyway with in the first chapter. Big cliff hanger at the ending so if like me you hate that don't ready this until next year Jan when the second book comes out!

message 2724: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Becca glad you liked Sloppy Firsts, the second book is my favorite book in the series.

message 2725: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments I can hardly wait!

message 2726: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (mamallama) | 21 comments I am reading The Red Pyramid and really enjoying it!

message 2727: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackie1301) | 75 comments @Jaimie -- I loved Linger a lot! Had a lot of crying moments throughout the book *smiles*

Rosabelle Purnama | 23 comments I'm currently reading Eragon by Christopher Paolini and also at the same time re-reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

message 2729: by Ginger (new)

Ginger Davis | 1 comments I'm reading Immortal...and I'm new. Any reviews on this book

message 2730: by Lori (last edited Aug 09, 2010 09:01AM) (new)

Lori (tyme2read) I finished Linger and Sarah's Key Linger seemed a bit slow for me. But I am still looking forward to the next book. Sarah's Key was wonderful, inspiring. It may be a fictional book but it does have factual places and events that were eye opening for me.

I am about to start Cracked Up to Be by Courtney Summers

message 2731: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I am reading Startled by His Furry Shorts (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson, #7) by Louise Rennison , and listening to Curse of the Blue Tattoo (Bloody Jack, #2) by L.A. Meyer and Leap Day by Wendy Mass on audiobook.

message 2732: by Laura Beth (new)

Laura Beth (tampabookworm) | 229 comments Loved Eragon and the entire series! I am now reading Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2) and anxiously waiting Cry Wolf to come in to the library!

message 2733: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I liked Hunger and Magic Strikes and am now going to start Crazy by Han Nolan . Still haven't finished the audiobook of Beat the Reaper.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Reading Inception right now and I'm in love with it so far!

And listening to an Abundance of Katherines

message 2735: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 97 comments I just finished City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare and now Im moving on to City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2) by Cassandra Clare . So far, I think this series has a chance of becoming one of my favorites!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Yay, another convert. :)

♡Meme♡Reads love♡ | 68 comments I just read the preview of City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare on my Google library its nice cause they let you read about 6- 10 chapters. Really good story can't wait to get my copy

message 2738: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments I'm afraid that City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare , The Hunger Games (Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins and Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater are going to be bad, so I'm pushing them away for the time being.

I'm currently reading Envy (Luxe, #3) by Anna Godbersen , and then Ink Exchange (Wicked Lovely, #2) by Melissa Marr , although I only skimmed through Wicked Lovely (Wicked Lovely, #1) by Melissa Marr , so I hope this prequel-ish book doesn't include much background information.

message 2739: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, Alyssa, you should read them! They are good. Really. :)

Good to know that you found Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay enjoyable. It's on my to-read list.

message 2741: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Alyssa, definately gie Hunger Games and the Mortal Instruments a shot. My husband (who doesn't read much and is a slow reader) just read Hunger games and Catching fire in 2 weeks. It's going to be a fight to see who gets to read Mockingjay first, lol.

Mardie, if you are anything like me you will need a kleenex or 2 nearby.

message 2742: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Alyssa stick with Hunger Games. I could not get past the first 100 pages of Mortal Instruments. Shiver was good, but a slow mover, so I recommend Hunger Games if you read any of them :)

message 2743: by Dija (new)

Dija Just finished Faefever (Fever, #3) by Karen Marie Moning An absolutely stunning read. Not sure what I'll be reading next.
