I'm a little worried though with how Michael seems to pressure Katherine to have sex. I'm wondering if that will be addressed in the book at all...

Wow! Is it that good? Is it one of those books that you just can't put down? I'll have to add it to my "to read" list!

Rebekah (rebekahsfavbooks) | 4 comments I hate to tell you this Miri but you will be waiting on one more Vampire Academy book. I just read on Richelle Mead's website that she is writing a 6th and final book. I just finished the 5th one and am eagerly awaiting #6, Last Sacrifice on December 7th!

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I just finished The Summer of Skinny Dipping (Summer, #1) by Amanda Howells . I'm reading Oh. My. Gods. (wish me luck) and then I'll start the Sky is Everywhere.

Anyone read any really good adult books lately?

message 2559: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Murphy | 96 comments I just finished [image error] which I enjoyed very much. It was one of those where the audiobook drove me batty even though I was enjoying the story. So I switched to the book. I'm pretty annoyed that Sapphique (Incarceron, #2) by Catherine Fisher was released overseas two years ago, but we have to wait until December.

I also read Mistwood by Leah Cypess . Really liked that, too. I'm going to start Vampirates: Demons of the Ocean today.

message 2560: by Christine (new)

Christine Blair | 3 comments Just finished Burned from the HON series and now I'm onto The short 2nd life of Bree Tanner.

Tanya Mac (yoyochkmeouthotmailcom) | 45 comments I just finished Linger. Forget sleeping last night. Couldnt put that sucker down!!

message 2562: by Traci (new)

Traci Just started White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black and I'm not really far enough to form an opinion just yet.. seems promising though.

So I was one of the very few that wasn't all that impressed by Shiver, but everyone keeps saying how wonderful Linger is. This makes me consider giving it another chance...

message 2563: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) I just got The One That I Want from the library so I will be putting my other books aside to read this.

Terry (Ter05 TwiMoms/ MundieMoms) (ter05) | 374 comments Tanya wrote: "I just finished Linger. Forget sleeping last night. Couldnt put that sucker down!!"
I am reading two other books but keep wanting to go back and read it again. I think I am going to have to do that soon as I can't get it out of my mind.

Rebekah (rebekahsfavbooks) | 4 comments I just finished reading "Forgive My Fins" by Tera Lynn Childs. It was wonderful, read it in a day!

Tanya Mac (yoyochkmeouthotmailcom) | 45 comments I'm on a roll, finished my 5th book this week....To Catch a Pirate! This one didn't last me my whole 8 hour shift today! It was pretty good too!

message 2567: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments So the library is closed today and I have five books waiting for me on hold with no way to get to them. When it opens tomorrow, I'll be reading Academy 7, which I know nothing about, Wolfskin which I'm totally stoked about, Sloppy Firsts which I've heard good things about, and Dark Lover which I'm currently blushing about. Oh! and The Scarlet Pimpernel for my bookclub. It's going to be an interesting week.

message 2568: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Let the blushing begin Becca! BDB is crazy and way over the top, but soooo addictive (and racy).

message 2569: by Robyn (new)

Robyn (robynlee6) | 2 comments Hi! I have been reading your posts and have followed many of your suggestions for good books. Can't wait for Mockingjay! Thanks! the best adult books this summer have been: I am Mary Sutter, The Help, Someone knows My Name, the Girl with the Dragon Tatoo and sequels, and John Hart's books. I also tried The Lost Conspiracy, a YA book, but I just couldn't get into it.

I think I'll be blushing like crazy Heidi cause I'm pretty sure I got the audio version...What am I doing to myself? lol!

message 2573: by Lani (last edited Jul 26, 2010 03:29AM) (new)

Lani (crahfty) | 253 comments I finished Forever and liked it. I enjoyed the candid and open look that Blume took when it came to sex. The characters, even though they were teens, were mature and responsible.

I'm now reading Linger. I broke down and bought it because I was still 5th on the waiting list at the library and didn't want to wait the possible 5 months it would take to get it. I'm not even through the first Isabel chapter, but I love Stiefvater's writing so I'm already enjoying it!

Thanks Robyn, I haven't read some of them, so I'll add them to my tbr shelf.

Alyssa (shyluck13) | 124 comments Need is what I just read, and it was pretty good. Next, I'm going to finish Haunted (which is kinda hard since I haven't read the first few books :P) and then am going to start Sense and Sensibility.

Ha! I got the audio version of that one too! It was good. The last three I have actually "read" though. One audio was enough in that series :)

message 2577: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments lol! I can imagine Heidi. One audio was more than enough for me when I read the Outlander series. It seemed like my husband walked in on every risque part.

I thought it was really good. It started out really slow...a story for each character. About 1/3 through the stories merged and I thought it was great! I was iffy on seeing the film at first, but now I def want to see it...Even though it does seem like it is going to be different. As I mentioned in my review....the book kinda reminds me of something that Nicholas Sparks would write. :)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments There were some pretty sad parts, huh? I think I was more or less blubbering at the end. LoL, I'm a big ol baby. And I loved Cole, by the way. :)

message 2584: by [deleted user] (new)

I love him too. I really love all the characters though.

message 2585: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Oh Becca, we tried to warn Heidi that despite her love for audiobooks BDB just may not be the series to listen to! I hope you have headphones on! I am also excited for you to be introduced to the quirky and hilarious Jessica Darling. I read The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen , it's not YA but it was really sweet, with just a slight dusting of magic. I am also in the middle of Catering to Nobody (A Goldy Bear Culinary Mystery, #1) by Diane Mott Davidson , recommended by Heidi and I am liking it. After it is done I will start Rules of Attraction (Perfect Chemistry, #2) by Simone Elkeles !

message 2586: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Jaimie I plan to listen to The Girl Who Chased the Moon on audio.

message 2587: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Headphones on. They are must with a three year old who understands way more than I give him credit for.

I just finished Wolfskin and omgoodness! it was excellent. Any historical based fantasy readers out there should pick this one up. Very well done and beautifully written.

message 2588: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments nice to hear on both counts!

message 2589: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments I finished Rules of Attraction (Perfect Chemistry, #2) by Simone Elkeles and now I'm not sure what I am going to read next. My library is not getting new YA books it seems so I am debating whether or not to go to the bookstore and blow some cash with the excuse that my bday is coming up. However my bf is getting me a kindle and so I really should just wait and buy ebooks! uuuggghh!

message 2590: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 97 comments Im currently reading Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder thanks to all of your recommendations! Im about 3/4 the way through it and Im loving it!! I've already recommended it to several of my friends.

Hi John. I've read the whole series and I can't wait until the new book in October. As a matter of fact, I'm itching to start The Red Pyramid. Have a couple other books I have to finish first though.

I just noticed this! Yay! You're going to love it and will never want to read a paper book again. :)

message 2593: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments yup - he is stoked because I have been hasseling him to build bookshelves since I have run out of space and there are just piles of books everywhere. He thinks it is brilliant and I am stoked cause the ebooks are cheaper and instant.

message 2594: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Library books are even cheaper girls.

Your going to love it! I just got one a few months ago. My husband got me it for the same reason. He didn't like my books everywhere. lol

message 2598: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (last edited Jul 28, 2010 03:58PM) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Yep! It's funny, hubby has a naked Kindle with no hacks, while mine is very custom! We love ours.

message 2599: by [deleted user] (new)

It's more about space for me. I don't devour books like Heidi so it's not that expensive for me. Besides, my hubby's hobbies are way more expensive than my reading habit.

message 2600: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Peep wrote: "Yep! It's funny, hubby has a naked Kindle with no hacks, while mine is very custom! We love ours." I have no idea what that means but sounds pretty tech. I want it for space and instant purchase he wants it because he loves gagets and not building furniture.
