I loved Wicked Lovely and am waitng for Ink Exchange to come in the mail. I alredy have Fragile Eternity.

Can you read Fragile Eternity befre Ink Exchange? Just I heard Ink Exchange was a companion more than a squeal.

I liked it. However, I'm so used to reading series after there are a number of them out so it is a bit disappointing to have to wait for the next one. ;)

City of Bones was GREAT!!! Actually the whole series is awesome. Oh and umm something happens in this book but don't fret. It will tick you off but you must read the rest of them. Trust me. ;)

I love Meg too. I need to get focused and read all her books.

message 2308: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Heidi, I got 3 new books today but not 13 to life. Maybe next payday. I had 4 books I need to get for bookclub reads so those had to come first. One left and hopefully I canget it at the same time.

I read Fragile Eternity before Ink Exchange and didn't feel like I missed anything. FE does pick up where IE ends, so there is one character that drastically changes from Wicked Lovely to Fragile Eternity due to a change in position that is explained in Ink Exchange, but what happened in Ink Exchange didn't seem like an integral part of Fragile Eternity to me.

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Finished The Reckoning (Darkest Powers, #3) by Kelley Armstrong last night. It was awesome. That is not the last book in the series right?? There are lots of questions that I want answered!!

Going to start Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1) by Kami Garcia today. I'm a little reluctant as I've heard mixed reviews, but I guess I'll find out!

message 2311: by [deleted user] (new)

The Reckoning is the last book with those characters but another book is coming out in the series. It will be with different characters but in the same world.

I really liked Beautiful Creatures and am curious to see if you like it. :)

message 2312: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Hmmm..interesting. The thing that happened at the end with the opening of the thing and the gaurd and the chick she helped left me wanting to know more! That part was uber creepy. If you have any idea what I'm talking about. LoL

I really hope I like Beautiful Creatures.(I think I will) Oh, and I'm getting anxious to hear what you think about the end of City of Bones!! So you have to let me know when you finish!! Please. :)

message 2313: by [deleted user] (last edited Jul 09, 2010 09:34AM) (new)

I really like Clary and Jace. So far it's 3 to 3 1/2 stars for me. I haven't been able to read as much as I normally do so it is taking me a long time to get through it. Will let you know what I think as soon as I'm done!

I enjoyed Isaitable because it was cute and funny but it kind of dragged on - not so sure Cabot is long for the paranormal romance. I do love to read her books though.

There seem to be alot of books that for me unfortunately do not live upto the hype, this book is one of them, it was enjoyable but it was just an ok for me. I have read lots of books like that this year, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Fallen, Hush Hush, were all books that didnt blow me away. But saying that everyones tastes are different, and there were those books that I had no expectation of that ended up being great reads.

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Which one, Beautiful Creatures or The Reckoning?

message 2317: by Traci (new)

Traci So I'm about 2/3 done with Stolen by Lucy Christopher and it's pretty good. Started it last night and I would love to finish it right now but I have to go to work. I'd never heard anything about it before and it's really weird but good. Kinda gives me the creeps a bit...

message 2318: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Emma I have skipped Fallen and Hush Hush because they got a lot of mixed reviews, and those type of books are normally ones I hate. I urge you to give the second book in the Girl with Dragon Tattoo series a try because it is way more action packed. I also think the audiobooks for the GWTDT make the book a better experience as the narrator is awesome. I have never even seen him in person, but I think I have a little crush on him :)

message 2319: by Traci (new)

Traci I think I'm one of the only people on this planet who has never read Pride and Prejudice. And I'm an English major. -_- That is all about to change! Starting it tomorrow. :]

ps. Stolen was very good. It was weird and sad but definitely good.

message 2320: by [deleted user] (new)

I haven't read it either, Traci! Let us know what you think!

Emma (emmauk007) Heidi wrote: "Emma I have skipped Fallen and Hush Hush because they got a lot of mixed reviews, and those type of books are normally ones I hate. I urge you to give the second book in the Girl with Dragon Tatto..."

Heidi, I have all the books and people tell me that the second book is alot better than the first. I found the 1st one full of unecessary dialogue and history which at the time I thought would be relevant at the end of the book, but it never was and it was a book that just irritated the hell out of me, but I persevered as I am the type of person that doesnt like to leave a book unfinished. It did get better, but in no way was the hype justified. I did like Lisbeth Salander, she was the only saving grace in this book.

I am currently reading Dragonfly in Amber book 2 of the Outlander Series

Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2) by Diana Gabaldon

and Midnight Risisng By Lara Adrian

Midnight Rising (Midnight Breed, #4) by Lara Adrian

message 2323: by Dija (new)

Rhonda Heidi wrote: "Emma I have skipped Fallen and Hush Hush because they got a lot of mixed reviews, and those type of books are normally ones I hate. I urge you to give the second book in the Girl with Dragon Tatto..."

Heidi,
I second your nomination for the Larsson books (although I am going to give Hush Hush a second try as well). I'm on the third in the series: The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest and you're right, they're action packed and totally engaging novels. I love Lisbeth Sanders' character!

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) they are not YA
Wolf at the Door (The Others, #1) by Christine Warren Kissing Sin (Riley Jenson Guardian, #2) by Keri Arthur A Kiss of Shadows (Meredith Gentry, #1) by Laurell K. Hamilton

message 2326: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Yeah Mardie! Thanks for the seconds :) Emma - Stieg does tend to go on and on about things that don't matter, so I know what you are saying. But, if you love Lisbeth, it is ALL Lisbeth ALL the time in Book 2.

I am sorry that you re-read it at all! That book is such a disappointment.

message 2328: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) I just finished Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson It was ok, I liked the twists at the end. I think it is just more of a romance then I am used to anymore.

I am about to start The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (Flavia de Luce, #1) by Alan Bradley and maybe Beastly by Alex Flinn

message 2329: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Lori I just finished the audiobook of Sweetness and I was disappointed. Hope you like it more than I did.

message 2330: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Started The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson last night.

message 2331: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda Just finished Lies by Grant yesterday, and I must admit, I'm totally hooked into this series. Will read it to the last drop (even if it takes 6 books). I HATE to admit that, but heck . . . it's true.

message 2338: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Heidi, I am only half way through the first chapter so too early for me to tell yet. I did start Beastly too though. I will probably finish it first.

message 2340: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Hahaha!

I just finished Succubus Blues Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid, #1) by Richelle Mead and gave up on Angel Star by Jennifer Murgia . So I'm starting Forgive My Fins (Fins, #1) by Tera Lynn Childs . I feel like I'm hitting a reading slump. (is that how you say it? That looks weird. Maybe slumb? No, that doesn't sound right either. Argh! Oh well.)

I was so mad at the main character that I couldn't even speak to my husband at bed time. Now I am reading Just One Wish Just One Wish by Janette Rallison by Janette Rallison. Really hoping I will like this one better.

Becca | 1608 comments Peep, I've definitely hit a reading slump lately. Maybe it's a reading funk. Yep, that sounds about right. Someone get me out of this funk!

message 2343: by Lani (new)

Lani (crahfty) | 253 comments Ladies-I attribute my reading funk/slump to the fact that the weather is offering me so much more opportunity to get out that books just aren't doing it for me right now. So, when all else fails, blame the weather.

I'm currently reading Graceling. I'm loving it so far, but it's taking me awhile to get through it because I just don't have enough time to read.

I'm actually really enjoying Forgive My Fins. It's a really cute, lite romance read. There are sea references all over the place. Maybe this was the boost I need? We'll see when I'm done with this one :P

What'd you think of Succubus Blues Peep? Haven't heard much about those books.

message 2348: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I didn't like it Kourtni. It was entertaining and all, but altogether I just didn't understand why some things happened and the decisions that Georgina made. The reviews say that it all comes together eventually but I don't want to read any of the other books so I'll never know :P

It's got good ratings on GR, so if you like similar books I think you'll like it. I think there's one more book coming out, so they'll be 6 or 7 in the series. Too much!

message 2349: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Hmmm, okay good to know, I don't know if I want to give it a try just yet then.

Finished City of Bones (Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare yesterday and I really liked it. I was really disappointed by one of the turns in the book but I'm hoping it's not true. :)

Gotta finish up Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward before moving on to another book since I promised all the BDB lovers on here that I would.

Peep - I didn't like Angel Star either but I read the whole thing. One of the few books that I didn't like.
