Onto The Dragonfly Pool by Eva Ibbotson .

Michelle Westwood | 1 comments I just began reading Insurgent by Veronica Roth. I am liking it so far. I did enjoy the first one of the series. I have the 4th book of the Mortal Instruments series on my "to-read" list, but I am thinking I might be disappointed in it compared to the first three of the series.

:) YAY! So glad you enjoyed it! I hope you like Of Poseidon as well. It's not to the caliber of BRR, but I still enjoyed it for what it was.

Vered (vered_ehsani) Just finished Cornerstone by Misty Provencher - thoroughly enjoyed it. As in: didn't want to stop reading even when my eyes begged me 'sleep, sleep'. Yup. That good.

I like it so far, thanks for recommending both!

How are you liking that? It's on my list but buried very deep.

------------------

The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating by Elisabeth Tova Bailey Never Fall Down by Patricia McCormick The Unwanteds (Unwanteds, #1) by Lisa McMann

The first two are good --although I doubt Wild Snail will be to everyone's liking. Never Fall Down was something else. Retelling of a survivor's story set in Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge purges. Arn is 11 yo when it begins. Ends when he's 15.

The Unwanteds was disappointing.

I'm enjoying it so far. It puts some very dark twists on familiar fairy tales, but there is a nice sprinkle of humor to keep things from becoming too heavy. I'm probably about two-thirds of the way through right now and it's sitting at a solid four star rating for me.

message 13216: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawnb2) | 29 comments Finished Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu I liked it but not as much as some of the other dystopian books I've read recently.

Started Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman

Lasse | 66 comments I have started Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins

message 13218: by Jadej (new)

Jadej | 5 comments Just finished reading Insurgent book 2 for Divergent. Great read, loved the main characters "Tris" and her boyfriend "Four", to really enjoy this book you have to read Divergent first, because Insurgent starts exactly where Divergent ends.

Thanks. I think I'll push that up higher on my list. Sounds like something I'd be more in tune with at the moment than my current reads.

Experimenting with Dust, which is a silly zombie book that I'm not sure I'll be able to finish. And The Loners, which I know I won't be able to stick with. (People that liked I AM NUMBER FOUR should probably check this book out)

The Fallen series and I have a love/hate relationship. I could not put the books down even though I felt they were a train wreck. I am trying to decide if I want to read the 4th. (I know I will, just afraid of not finding my answers)Like I said love/hate.

Ooh I love Sabriel (Abhorsen, #1) by Garth Nix ! I think the 2nd and 3rd books in the series are even better. (Although Sabriel stands on its own two feet so you don't have to go on if you don't want to, which is nice.) You're making me want to re-read those.

Juliann,

Yes, if you go in knowing there is a 4th one. Overall, it is an interesting series and like I said before I needed to know and I was sucked in thinking it was the last book and at the point I was just like I NEED ANSWERS. Now, I WILL read it at some point, but it is not on my top 10 TBR.

I feel the exact same way!! Sometimes I'm like this is so stupid, but then I can't put it down. Love/hate is the perfect way to explain it!

Thanks for the recommendation. I will check into Awaken. I am only on page 10 of Matched so it could take me awhile. (then most likely I will want the 2nd book).

Really? I'm not sure about the book. It just didn't clicked for me and I couldn't get really attached to the characters. For me just an average book :/

message 13250: by [deleted user] (new)

I am reading Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen . It is my first Austen and I am very intimidated. Watched the movie (with Kate Winslet, Alan Rickman and Hugh Grant!) first so I would know what was going on
