Reading
right now. It took a while for me to get into the story since science fiction isn't usually my "thing," but now I can't get enough of this book!

I wish May would hurry up..."
Wow Donna, we're on the same track. I just finished both books and I agree with you about Ashes, Ashes, the ending was a let down. And really, I think if the author had dropped the gratuitous sexual references that her book when have made a solid read for middle-graders.
-------
Just finished The Giver, which has been on The List forever and Bitterblue. Trying Rotters while waiting for my first choices to become available at the library. It's not at all what I was expecting.
Dawn wrote: "Finished
I liked it better then
, mainly because it had a better ending.Starting
next."I read Empty and it's not bad, I have the other 2 at home but haven't gotten to them yet.
Cassi aka Snow White wrote: "Reading
(yes actually doing featured author this month!)"Yay! I was going to listen to that one on audio awhile back but did not. I still need to get
from the library - hopefully this weekend!
Currently working on Hate List, Looking for Alaska, The Road, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Amulet of Samarkand, Monster, and the Darkest Powers trilogy, as well as a few I've honestly forgotten. My plate is completely full.

me too, I love her even more after half way reading through this book ! She's so quirky
Jennifer wrote: "Gonna try the Harry Potter series. Friends finally convinced me. We'll see."Woot! You will love it. The audiobooks are fantastic btw.
Thanks Heidi. I don't do audio but so far I am really liking the first book. One of those " can't believe I waited so long" things :)
Jennifer wrote: "Thanks Heidi. I don't do audio but so far I am really liking the first book. One of those " can't believe I waited so long" things :)"If you "do audio" on the Harry Potter series, you will be "doing audio" from now on. The reader, Jim Dale, turns it into gateway audio.
I'm bumming. I was really looking forward to Under the Never Sky and I'm really getting turned off. I even read the sample -- which was great -- but the rest of the story isn't living up :(

I started it, but can't get into it! I had such high expectations too!
Nicola wrote: "Reading Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and finding it a bit "Meh" so far."It was not for me either.

It didn't knock my socks off either. It was a bit better than okay, but not what I was expecting.

My aversion to audio comes from working in a middle school. I have listened to so many audio books that I am numb. I really like reading a book for myself,I absorb it so much better. I think I'm a visual person, lol.

Oh... Hmmm.. I was thinking of reading that one next. Glad for the input!
Jessica (BlogEared Books) wrote: "I started it, but can't get into it! I had such high expectations too! "Was it just me or was the writing 'babyish'. Short sentences. Staccato style. And strange descriptions... like, 'he moved when the fire inhaled.'

Theo I listened to the first 3 Sookie books on audio as well as The Earth... on audio. I listen to 2-3 audiobooks at a time so I have had some challenging times switching from book to book with certain narrators!
