Shelia (strawberrypanic-ouran-furuba) FINALLY finished Switched (Trylle Trilogy, #1) by Amanda Hocking . I'm honestly just glad that it's over, it took me almost two weeks to read.

How did you feel about it? Personally I wanted to smack the main character around a bit.

message 9753: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Finished Feed (Newsflesh, #1) by Mira Grant , starting Queen of the Dead (The Ghost and the Goth, #2) by Stacey Kade

Against your advice, I finished Tantalize (Tantalize, #1) by Cynthia Leitich Smith because I had checked out the second book Eternal (Tantalize, #2) by Cynthia Leitich Smith and thought "What the Hell." I am so super annoyed with myself... Eternal has all different characters in it. You can't even find out what happens with Kieran (I remember his name now) and Quince until the third book. RIDICULOUS! lol

message 9755: by Wendy Darling (new)

Wendy Darling (wendydarling) | 193 comments Oh, so she pulls a "Wicked Lovely," hah. Are you going to read the third then?? What did you think of Tantalize?

message 9756: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) I'm reading Queen of the Dead (The Ghost and the Goth, #2) by Stacey Kade because I have to return it to the library but am still in the beginning of Feed (Newsflesh, #1) by Mira Grant

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Started Princess Academy by Shannon Hale and quite pleased so far (featured author of the month challenge).

I'll miss you all when I'm at camp. Taking my Kindle and a little nervous that's the worst idea ever. But I can't bear to be apart from it.

message 9758: by Julie (new)

Julie I just finished If I Stay (If I Stay, #1) by Gayle Forman and I really liked it! I didn't really expect to get upset by anything in the book since I'm not really the emotional type (except when they play the Humane Society commercials) but the part where her grandpa told her that he wants her to stay killed me.

We'll miss you! Hope you get to use your Kindle :)

message 9760: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Julie are you going to read Where She Went (If I Stay, #2) by Gayle Forman ? I really liked it.

message 9761: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jenniem05) | 34 comments I just finished A Discovery of Witches.. which I thought was amazing!! And I am on the last book of The Immortals series The Realms of the Gods.. I have so many books on my to-read list!! Any suggestions??? I LOVE this book group by the way! All of the books that have been recommended to me so far have been excellent!

message 9762: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Hey Jennifer! I loved A Discovery of Witches too, I can't wait till the next one comes out! :)

message 9763: by Julie (new)

Julie Heidi (don't listen to me) wrote: "Julie are you going to read Where She Went (If I Stay, #2) by Gayle Forman? I really liked it."

I do want to read that one, it will probably be awhile before I get to it since I have so many others I need to read first.

message 9764: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Sorry ladies A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness was not for me. At all. Glad you all liked it though.

message 9765: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jenniem05) | 34 comments Stormi wrote: "Hey Jennifer! I loved A Discovery of Witches too, I can't wait till the next one comes out! :)"

Me either.. I loved the historical references throughout the book.. it made the story so much more interesting!

message 9766: by Wendy Darling (new)

Wendy Darling (wendydarling) | 193 comments Hey Cassi, don't forget that Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma is released next week, too! I know you were thinking about that one, and I'm really curious what you'll think of it. Although, um, I guess that's highly inappropriate Girl Scout Camp reading material, too.

So glad you liked If I Stay, Julie--I was surprised by how well-written and emotional that was, too.

I have Discovery of Witches on my Kindle and I like the writing, but the size scares me a little bit. I keep hearing that it should have been edited down for length.

message 9767: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) I'm currently reading Rachel's Holiday (Walsh Family #2) by Marian Keyes

message 9768: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) I'm only at page 70, but I really like her writing, she makes everything a bit more realistic :) And it's an easy ready even though the subject is kinda serious..

I dont know about the editing.. It kept me interested through the entire story. I was upset that it was over!! It definitely leaves you wanting more!

Amanda Murphy | 96 comments I just finished The Ghost and the Goth (The Ghost and the Goth, #1) by Stacey Kade it was seriously cute. I was pleasantly surprised.

message 9772: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I know, haha. It's a funny book because you don't expect it to be as good as it is. I just finished Queen of the Dead (The Ghost and the Goth, #2) by Stacey Kade today.

message 9773: by Jeanine (last edited Jun 26, 2011 04:21PM) (new)

Jeanine (truejourney) | 120 comments Wendy Darling wrote: "Oh, so she pulls a "Wicked Lovely," hah. Are you going to read the third then?? What did you think of Tantalize?"

I thought that Tantalize was painstakingly slow... The only reason I even read through it was to see if Kieran and Quince end up together. The end was better than the whole book put together, which in a way was the whole reason for me to start Eternal. Then, when I realized that Eternal introduced all new characters, none of them from Tantalize, I was a little annoyed. But Eternal is a way better book than Tantalize, so I guess I'll be reading Blessed. I am curious as to how Smtih will throw all the characters from her first two books together.

Kayla (kaylawrites89) | 352 comments I'm almost finished with The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1) by Rick Riordan , it's so different from the movie, but I really like it so far.

Also started The Iron Thorn (Iron Codex, #1) by Caitlin Kittredge , not far into it, so, we'll see how it goes. :)

At first I wasn't sure what to make of it but right around the time I figured out what "God's face" was I fell in love. The story was so powerful. I decided to go with Witches of the East End next.

message 9791: by Victoria (new)

Victoria (closer2coma86) | 83 comments I just finished The Iron Daughter (Iron Fey, #2) by Julie Kagawa and The Year My Sister Got Lucky by Aimee Friedman . The former was super amazing (oh, Ash...) and the latter was cute.

I think I'm going to start a review copy of She Smells the Dead (Spirit Guide, #1) by E.J. Stevens . The author was nice enough to send me it along with a copy of the second book. Has anyone read these?

message 9792: by Wendy Darling (new)

Wendy Darling (wendydarling) | 193 comments I read the first one, Victoria, I need to read the second...both for review, too. :)

I liked the Trylle trilogy too (it's a fast, lighthearted read). I didn't really care for ROOM, though, but I'm definitely in the minority on that one!

I loved The Truth about Forever by Sarah Dessen and I think I may start Hearts at Stake (The Drake Chronicles, #1) by Alyxandra Harvey next.

did you like the immortals series then? i'm guessing you did, yea! The Naming (The Books of Pellinor, #1) by Alison Croggon is really similar to pierce's immortal series, though i liked the immortals better so far.
