Peep (Pop! Pop!) Thanks for the update Cassi!

I'm having a hard time staying concentrated with Wither (Chemical Garden, #1) by Lauren DeStefano . It's not bad at all, it's just my attention span is stinking it up.

message 7702: by Daria (new)

Daria (dariadeptula) I'm still reading Fingersmith by Sarah Waters , but I'm distracted by White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black which I have on audio.

I don't think it is a typical series. I think this book stands alone because the next book is many years later with different characters in the same family (at least from what I read).

Oh don't you worry Cassi I could go on and on with this name change thing! I am just totally lost as to why Peep became the champion of Edward today. That is Shannen's job.

It is rainy and I am bored. Am I not allowed to spruce up things around here every once in a while? And don't change your name... I didn't come up with any backups!

message 7713: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Bad timing, just noticed the convo going on in the other thread (though I didn't read it). Maybe I should post over there...

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Wait, there's a name changing party and no one invited me?

Hey Stacia! Guess what you're invited! Of course I just crashed the party but I'll invite you anyways!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Glitter is a pain to wash off. Sparkling is way overrated.

I worked in a church nursery for 3 years. Have you ever had rich parents call to complain because of glitter in their new SUV? For reals people.

Glitter never goes away. Permanent sparkle.

Hey Cassi, The Sevenwaters series isn't your typical series. Each book is about a different woman in the family and her interaction with the Fae, etc. None of the stories really continue each other except that each woman is part of the family legacy, so they are all kind of stand alone stories. The start and end the story in one novel for the most part. You don't need to read them one after the other. I felt compelled to read them quickly just because I loved the writing style of the author so much. And my personal favorite is the second book in the Sevenwaters series. If you read it, you'll probably know why.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments So its a loosey-goosey commitment! SCORE!!! I'm only a few pages from the end and very very happy. Much better than the first Bridei book. Not even the same league folks!

message 7722: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Ya, there's a reason this is her most popular series.

Valerie | 58 comments Started reading Incarceron earlier this evening, but just couldn't get into it for some reason... So I gave up, and started reading Finnikin of the Rock which I'm enjoying so far.

Incarceron is very hit or miss it seems. I personally like it but a lot of people didn't and I understand why they didn't.

Ohhh The Road. One of the most depressing books ever. Can't believe you are reading that for a class.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Started Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A.S. King last night but only read chapter 1 because I was warned it is hard to put down. Going to do some cleaning and return to it today.

Hahaha! Funny you should mention that because I read the WHOLE book yesterday (which I rarely do). Loved it. I am starting on The Agony of Alice by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor today. There are 21 books in the Alice series so if I like it I guess I will have a lot of books to read!

At first I didn't really like Incarceron because it was so different from what I normally read, but I got sucked in about halfway through it. Now I can't wait to read Saphique!

I think the thing about Incarceron is you have to fall in love with the world and that's a lot harder to do than falling in love with a character.

message 7739: by Caryn (new)

Caryn (carynreads) I just started Eon by Alison Goodman , and so far it's really good. I love the way the author used the Chinese dragons in the story.

message 7740: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I read Plague (Gone, #4) by Michael Grant and Everlost (Skinjacker, #1) by Neal Shusterman yesterday for my Readathon.

message 7741: by Daria (last edited Apr 10, 2011 09:30AM) (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments I'm having some book issues. Every single flippin time I read BDB, It takes me a week to get back into reading something else. Arrgh. I have The Piper's Son, River Marked and City of Fallen Angels sitting here yet I can't read them because I keep thinking about BDB. I'm going to try to get through city of Fallen Angels this week...We are moving in a few weeks and things are getting interesting around here...

Traci Carmel wrote: "Traci wrote: "finished City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare the other day "

Thoughts Traci?"

I liked it, but it wasn't as gripping as the first three. This one was mostly a build up for the next two I think. It was still good, but those who didn't enjoy the original MI probably won't like this one either :p

Traci Heidi (the original) wrote: Ohhh The Road. One of the most depressing books ever. Can't believe you are reading that for a class.

It's for a class called "Narratives of the Apocalypse" haha.. we also read The Plague by Albert Camus , In the Country of Last Things by Paul Auster , and will be reading World War Z An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks next.
