Jen :) they're all good and the one you're reading right know is a mayor cliffhanger! ;) !

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Finished Curse of the Blue Tattoo Being an Account of the Misadventures of Jacky Faber, Midshipman and Fine Lady (Bloody Jack, #2) by L.A. Meyer on audio this weekend and it was delightful. Love that narrator!

Started Lover Mine (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #8) by J.R. Ward and so far I'm not digging it as much as the previous books. I guess you could say there are a few things going on that just aren't my thing...

That would be me..LOL but its on my wishlist! :)

message 6158: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I was not a big fan of Lover Mine either Kourtni - book 7 was just so awesome, that that one was kind of a let down afterwards IMO. I also thought John deserved a nice sweet vamp girl - not Xhex.

message 6159: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) So interesting because I loved how John made me see a different side of Xhex. I liked it alot, not as much as some of the others, but still a solid 4+ stars for me.

Heidi Wendy F wrote: "So interesting because I loved how John made me see a different side of Xhex. I liked it alot, not as much as some of the others, but still a solid 4+ stars for me."

I did not like Xhex. Sorry! I also hated the whole ghost story. Lash was the best part of the whole book IMO.

message 6161: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Once I picture a character a certain way through a few books its hard to change my mind. I can't get rid of the image of Xhex as a big burly woman with a steroid problem. Oh, and I can't get down with the Quinn and Blay situation if it were to become a situation.

message 6162: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I didn't like Xhex UNTIL John's book. Then I learned to like her more because we saw a different side of her.

I did hate the whole ghost story.

Lash was good, but I'm all about anything that has to do with Qhuinn and Blay. I've never read a m/m book, but I love those two. Qhuinn especially.

Hahaha! That is quite a description. Didn't you think he deserved someone sweet and feminine? Spoiler********************************

Don't even get me started on that whole gay triangle thing!

message 6164: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) HAHAHAHA! I guess I'm alone here. I love them. I ache for them both.

message 6165: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Yes, I think he deserved at least a more feminine woman/vamp.

*********Spoiler*******
It's a triangle?!? No! I guess I need to finish the book up. I most likely wont be reading the next one. :/ Okay...I might. I have a serious BDB addiction.

message 6166: by Heidi (last edited Feb 07, 2011 01:01PM) (new)

Heidi Sorry Wendy, you are a softy and are outnumbered here! I am not even caring about book 9 - it doesn't even sound good to me! Sorry if I spoiled the surprise on the love triangle thing Kourtni - I thought you were farther along.

message 6167: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Nothing too serious happens, hahaha. Ward says she'll finish the Blay Qhuinn storyline in a Novella so that the fans who don't want to read about it won't miss other important storylines. Which stinks for the fans like me who an enthralled with them and want a full length novel, but works for others who aren't liking it.

I can't wait for book 9! It's gonna have alot of V in it, and I'm very intrigued by Payne (I think its the Buffy lover in me).

Oh jeez, i am a softy!

message 6168: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments *****spoiler*****

I am at the part where Blay pulled out Quinns cousin's business card. Duh. Should have seen that coming. I don't pay close enough attention to the Quinn/Blay parts because I don't like them!

message 6169: by Heidi (new)

Heidi The first step is to admit you have a problem Wendy!

message 6170: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I suppose I should eventually go back to the BDB series. I can't even remember where I left off probably book 4 or 5. So you're not really spoiling anything for me since when I see "spoiler" I tend to want to read it anyways.

I'm really enjoying Warped by Maurissa Guibord , the main character just makes me laugh, I love her at the moment. After I'm done reading this, I'll be reading The Frenzy by Francesca Lia Block since it's another library book due back in two weeks.

message 6171: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) How's this for a problem...

Ever since finishing Shadowfever I have no drive to start something new. I just want to keep rereading the Barrons moments over and over.

message 6172: by Kourtni (new)

Very understandable. Mmmmmm Barrons. *Sigh* I will miss him.

message 6173: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I know, I think that's why I can't put it down. I don't want it to be over.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments So all I have to say here is that ITS NOT FAIR PEOPLE HAVE DEMONGLASS!!!!!

Yep, that's it. Oh and Rachel Hawkins just tweeted that some guy who is ALL WRONG is in the running to play Peeta. As you can imagine this has dampened my day.

(PS I know Rachel Hawkins knows nothing of the Hunger Games movie but she's the first one who shared link that I saw so I give her credit)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) *hug Cassi*

For some reason I thought it was releasing tomorrow so I said I was starting it today (since my preorders always download long before midnight), then went back and checked the release date and it's not coming out til March 1st. I got that one wrong.

Boo.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments John ends up with Xhex??? really? Why? (Don't answer that) but ugh! I guess I'll wait til I actually read the book for judgement but... ugh. Can't he be with someone a bit more feminine? (If you've had this discussion I skipped down once I saw all the spoilers)

I just finished Butch's book and in a complete shocker my library actually got V's book in my hands before I finished Butch's. I'll catch up to you ladies eventually.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) She does femme up a bit with time.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments I hope so... I really hope so.

I hear you Wendy. I did the same thing. I think I spent a few night re-reading Barrons scenes before finally forcing myself to move on because library books are only good for so long. That was my motivation (that and I forced myself to remove the book from my bedside table)

message 6180: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Sorry Brittany! Didn't mean to be a spoiler - AGAIN!

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments it's okay...that's what I get for disappearing for a few days. While I admit I'm not thrilled about being spoiled it is BDB, so regardless I think you pretty much know what you're getting yourself into. That's all I saw because I skipped down after that. No matter how hard I try it seems I cannot escape the BDB spoilers. I guess I should read faster. Still, John and Xhex??? I am really not happy about this revelation. Can't he at least pick a female (human, vampire or otherwise) that I actually like?

message 6182: by Jamie (new)

Jamie (bookworm20) | 67 comments Just got done reading Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand . It was not as good as I thought it was going to be. Maybe because I had high expectations for it as a result of all of the great reviews. :( Now I am starting All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins .

message 6183: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Ohh Jaimie let me know about All I Ever Wanted. I have it in my tbr pile.

Megan (megg_reads) | 34 comments I just bought Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver yesterday and am starting it tonight. It is a little slower than I thought as well. But then again Im only on the first chapter!

message 6186: by Traci (new)

Traci uh oh. I just bought Unearthly today... crossing my fingers because I'll be starting that one tomorrow!

on a side note, I just finished Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6) by Richelle Mead and I'm so sad that this series is over. I never expected to like it as much as I did. I'm going to miss it.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I actually liked Unearthly. After being hugely disappointed with Fallen and only liking Hush, Hush a little bit better (who am I kidding, the only great thing about Hush, Hush was Patch), I thought this one had a better plotline and more likeable characters. Tucker is quite down to earth for a male character.

Sorry I spelled your name wrong Jamie - I thought you were the the other Jaimie (spelled that way) and changed her avatar or something, because she has been reading several Kristan Higgins books lately too. Strange coincidence, huh? Anyway, just wanted to say sorry for spelling your name wrong in a really long round about way!

Yay! I loved the ending. The whole book was intense!

message 6193: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Don't read below Catie! Teeny tiny maybe Spoiler!

Lloyd, I know exactly where you are and I was feeling everything you are too. I'm so glad i wasn't at work because I was an emotional disaster! (shut up)

message 6194: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 415 comments Don't worry, I won't spoil anything. (I'm all too aware that others might read it and I'd hate to ruin anything)

All I can say is...I'm going to have to keep sneaking in bits while I'm at work.

Work ethics? I don't need no stinkin' work ethic! :P

Ha! In college I hung out with another Jamie and to keep us straight they called me two i's and her one i. I still answer to it when I am around old friends. Oh and I haven't read that one yet.

message 6197: by Heidi (last edited Feb 08, 2011 11:34AM) (new)

Heidi Jaimie - I have gotten so used to responding to you that I now spell all Jaimie's with an "i". It is all your fault! jk :) (kind of) Isn't it strange that Jamie was reading a K. Higgins book though? If it had been any other book/author I would have noticed it wasn't you Jaimie with an extra "i"! p.s. I have never known so many Jaimie's until this last year or so. I have been interacting with at least 5 female Jamies (they all spell their name like that - sorry!) for my work. It drives me crazy when they call and all the office assistant tells me is that Jamie is on the phone. Huh?? Which one! Before this, I had never even met anyone with your name. Sorry to ramble (as usual :)

message 6198: by Emily (new)

Emily (bookqueen79) Ghost Town by Rachel Caine. I love the Morganville Vampires series. One of my favorite series.

message 6199: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 415 comments Damn. I just finished Monsters of Men (Chaos Walking, #3) by Patrick Ness . What a great series! And, like Forrest Gump, "that's all I have to say about that". :D

Must focus on work now. And to ponder that delicious question - what do I read next? :)

message 6200: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Yay Lloyd! Didn't it feel like such a downer to be done with it?
