Linda Klinedinst (linda_klinedinst) Emily

Thanks for replying back to my Author's Question...I am going have to put these books and their Authors down in my Spiral Notebook of Authors to read.

Having read all four books I would say it is worth it to finish book one so you know who everyone is. It is a nice filler series in between Fever and BDB books.

I preordered mine from Barnes and Noble but it has yet to ship :(

message 5557: by Heidi (new)

Heidi The pre-order curse strikes again!

message 5558: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I just started The Spell Book of Listen Taylor by Jaclyn Moriarty (also my theme read book) and am listening to Mississippi Jack Being an Account of the Further Waterborne Adventures of Jacky Faber, Midshipman, Fine Lady, and Lily of the West (Bloody Jack, #5) by L.A. Meyer (Yay PFL!) and The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson on audio.

Oh, there's more. The sexual tension definitely get better as the series continues.

I hate you all. So hard not to just buy the thing to know what happens. ugh. Self control... self control... self control... my new mantra until I can get my hands on the book.

(What I really mean is, good for you Jaimie, I hope you enjoy it... then make a special trip to Vail so I can read it)

P.S. My first day of classes back to school was yesterday. Who releases a book at the beginning of a semester?? I mean really? (and yes, we had school on MLK day... I couldn't believe it)

message 5561: by Traci (new)

Traci I don't think I've ever had off of school for MLK day before...

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Really Traci? We always have. We were always off for MLK day but in school for President's Day throughout my entire undergrad. Good news is it's technically a work holiday for me, so I get to comp it for a different day this month. I'm taking next Tuesday off. Then I won't have class of work for the day.

message 5563: by Heidi (new)

Heidi My hubby works at a college and they had yesterday off. I can't wait until next month because I really luck out. Since I live in IL, Land of Lincoln, not only do I get President's Day off I also get Lincoln's birthday off. Can't wait!

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments hmmm, maybe I should live in IL for the month of February.

message 5565: by Gwennie (last edited Jan 18, 2011 01:13PM) (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) My husband works for Eastern Michigan University here in MI and they didn't have school either.

I, however, was here at work.

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Okay guys, stop it...lol I haven't read the Fever series and just like the Highlander one you are going to force me to put it on the TBR pile and its already to big!! :) You guys are are really bad for my bank account..LOL LOL :)

message 5568: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Do it Stormi! Do it!

message 5569: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) They suckered me into it. I'm sure you're next Stormi!

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Give in Stormi. that's what libraries are for, to save the bank acct.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Heidi I wrote: "Brittany wrote: "hmmm, maybe I should live in IL for the month of February."

It is the shortest month of the year. I could handle it for 4 weeks I think.

message 5573: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) I might just see if my library has the first one, but I don't hold my breath much on it cause its a small town library so it doesn't have all the good stuff or it takes longer to get the good stuff..LOL

I wish my library had audio and ebooks you could get online, but I didn't see anything but I am going to ask them about it the next time I go..which might be this weekend. :)

You should get President's Day off - right??

message 5575: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Stormi if you library uses Overdrive (audio/ebooks) -- they do have the Fever series on there (at least they do on mine). Can't you use Interlibrary Loan???

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) That's my way of saying that I'm not really "all here" until Shadowfever is done. I'll get back to it when my husband is cooking dinner.

It's technically a work holiday, but I have class, so no, not really. We have to work every holiday around here (but we are also government, so we get all the silly holiday's like Columbus and Veteran's Day) so we always comp then out for later use (it's just the nature of this business). I'm planning a trip to Utah Pres. Day. weekend but instead of getting to use the extra day for my trip I have to be back because of classes. (I know... I really wanted to stay that extra day too)

I think I need to choose to either be a student or to be an employee. Doing both always seems to mess with my social life.

Lloyd | 415 comments For those who are interested, Barnes & Nobel is offering the first volume of Septimus Heap for free today. I had to scroll down to find it (they also have a listing for the full price ebook, so just watch out).

http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?...

I've always been interested in the series - and what better way to try? (Well, other than the library that is) :P

message 5580: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 415 comments My wife told me that Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly "was really good!" Not sure if I'll personally read it (doesn't look like my kinda thing), but it's nice that she's branching out in some YA stuff since her disappointment in the ending of Mockingjay.

message 5581: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Heidi,

This weekend when I go to the library I am going to ask them about Overdrive..thats something I don't know anything about so maybe they do and I just had no clue. :) I hope they do, but being a small town library (a town that is pretty much bankrupt) I am not sure. *crosses fingers* :)

On page 132 of Desires of the Dead and it still has a bit of the creepy factor that The Body Finder had. :) Kind of curious as to were its going so, back to reading. :)

Hahahaha! I liked that series Lloyd, but some of the spelling and gramatics took some getting used to. It's definitely a mid-grade series rather than YA, but still enjoyable. Many many many laugh out loud moments.

message 5584: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I put the other two books I was reading away. I was not very fond of Feather (Feather, #1) by Abra Ebner , gave me a headache within the first few pages, might go back later to read it. I also wasn't very fond of the other book I was reading, I can't even think of the name. So, I decided to try out Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning , here's hoping.

message 5585: by Traci (new)

Traci I liked The Devouring, Bluemoon. It's weird, but good.

I just finished Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead and will be moving on to Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2) by Richelle Mead tomorrow. I hope this one is edited better. I found waaaay too many typos in VA. but I got them both from Half Price Books for about $5 so I can't be too upset.

message 5586: by Linda (new)

Linda Klinedinst (linda_klinedinst) I have Eragon Book to read and I want to get the rest in this series to read too.

I havent read the fever series yet so I really cant say. Im reading Highlander right now, then I will start the fever series. I do LOVE BDB though! Can't wait for the next book! The first book is the slowest though so keep reading!

Julie, I'm not completely sure what NEED is all about yet. I was intrigued at the get-go about the main characters phobias. Now I'm reading through her attempt to fit in at the new school in Maine. I need to give this one some more time. Will let you know!!

P.S. I adored Rudy in THE BOOK THIEF!

message 5592: by Cortney (new)

Cortney | 21 comments I have been reading The Lady's Slipper for a week or two. I won an arc and couldn't wait to get started!
The beginning was a bit slow going for me because it took me a little while to feel invested in the characters BUT now I can't put it down! I'm thinking I can finish the last third today, thanks to the slow start of the book I got some housework done. Now it wont be so noticeable if I completely ignore it today and finish my book! it's setting up to be a good day!

They are different - BDB is steamy romance (with a big helping of cheese) and Fever is more fantasy/mystery?(not really a romance imo even though that is usually where it is shelved at the bookstore).

I am about halfway through Shadowfever and I already am more confused about all the questions going into it. KMM is a plot-twisting master!

message 5594: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Well I went to my library today to look for Darkfever but it wasn't in, so maybe on my next library run. I did ask them about ebooks, etc and just as I thought my poor little library isn't up-to-date with some of them big ones..they don't have the overdrive thing, but here is a silverling..lol. She said it was something that they were working on, so to check back from time to time and ask. They have a button for ebooks, but it says page not found so the lady said it was cause they were still working on it..so *crosses fingers* it might be something I can do with my library in the near future. :)

message 5595: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Yeah I have been thinking about looking into them I know about the one that Peep mentioned but I didn't know about the D.C. one so I will go check it out too.

Thanks!

Stormi sorry to hear about your library's financial problems :( I joined the Philidelphia Free Library for $15.00 - it has worked great so far. Give it a try - the application is online and really quick :)

I did this too. It took me forever to buy it because the cover of Dark Lover just kept turning me away.

I love this series. I'm reading it again slowly for a second time. It's very cheesy, but in that oh so good kinda way.
