Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) LOL, Lloyd,

Since I bought my ipod about a year ago I have noticed how easy it is to just get that book for it..lol. I was thinking about getting a book from Barnes and Noble, and I thought to myself..maybe I should just get the ebook version..and you know its not really because its more convient for me its because I don't have to wait 3-5 days for it to show up...LOL AAAAAAH I am so bad. :( :)

Yes, the instant gratification is bad. SO bad! (How do you think I got myself into the mess of reading nine books at the same time?)

Self control? We don't need no stinking self control!

message 5453: by Erika (new)

Erika (readingbutterfly) I'm taking a stab at the magicians by Grossman and still reading the Sea Monsters by Riordan.

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments So, Lloyd admits he's easy for books, at least they buy you dinner, we couldn't have it any other way!!..

The thread has been slow all day. I've been reading my book and no one has posted until now, I was feeling lonely.

Lloyd | 415 comments I'm readin' myself a little Monsters of Men (Chaos Walking, #3) by Patrick Ness right now. (iPod rests so deceptively on the desk in front of me. What? I'm just listening to music while I work. *wink*)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) You guys are ridiculously hilarious!

No, I don't do audiobooks. I'm using my Kindle app. :P

Bwaa haa haaaaaaaaaaa! (Just crunchin' those numbers boss!)

message 5459: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) It's been a while since I have posted here. I can't even remember the last book I posted here that I was reading.

BUT right now I am reading Misguided Angel (Blue Bloods, #5) by Melissa de la Cruz and on my kobo I am reading Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen I thought I would give a Sarah Dessen book a chance.

message 5460: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I can not get into audio books either, I tried.

Lloyd, as long as you're working and reading, it should be all good!!...What books are you reading anyways?

message 5461: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Lori how do you like your Kobo? I see they are $99 for 4 days.

message 5462: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Respect the audiobook people. Someone needs to speak up for them. All you non auditory learners are ganging up me (well not me...but my beloved audiobooks).

Heidi you know I'm always in your gang. We'll invite Jacky Faber to protect us...

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I would never gang up on an audio book lover. It just wouldn't be right.

message 5466: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) I think if I had more time for audiobooks I might like them more. Don't get me wrong I do like them, but unless I have them on CD I find it hard to listen to them in the car..I am sort of a TV hound when it comes to cleaning I always have it on. This summer though I am wanting to try and get more walking in and I think audiobooks might be just the thing to help me not get so bored when I am walking. :)

Oh I know that! I was just being silly as usual :)

message 5468: by Heidi (last edited Jan 14, 2011 07:19PM) (new)

Heidi Stormi I love walking and listening to audiobooks. I listen to 3 audiobooks at a time. In my car I usually listen to audiobooks on CD, but I have fm transmiters to listen to my ipod, playways, and my phone/mp3 player. At home while I am getting ready I listen to books on mp3 through the speakers on my phone/mp3 player and then lastly, in the shower I listen to audiobooks on CD or even audio tape on the little player I have in the bathroom. I am crazy I know, but it helped me get through 200 books last year.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Heidi what is is they call Jacky in French. I just tried to type it (when I said she was on our side) and even though I know some French because I've never seen it written I failed.

La femme belle (de la mer? I know mer = sea) sans merci?

Its bugging me!

message 5471: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Cassi I am lost! Sorry.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Darn it. Maybe I should have asked this in the Jacky thread. Hmmmm will see if I can find it somewhere.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments La Belle Fille sans Merci

(I have no idea why I was trying to add "the sea" blame my years of being a Lostie & Shannon from Lost)

message 5474: by Heidi (new)

Heidi "la belle dame sans merci" is a poem by John Keates - that's all I can find! What part of the book was it in? Maybe that would help me.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Book 3. Trying to think what to say without being spoilerific.

Rebecca | 97 comments I just finished The Highlander's Touch by Karen Marie Moning and it was good, but my least favorite so far. Now Im reading Kiss of the Highlander (Highlander, #4) by Karen Marie Moning .

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments In the Highlander series you actually get to learn more about what things are like in Faery?? I've heard some interesting theories from those who have read the Highlander series. They seem to know a lot more of the Seelie specifically and the queen.

Nice. Book 4 is where the series starts to get good. Plus you get a nice healthy dose of MacKeltar brothers back to back.

Does Duncan get a book? There was a short part in book 3 where he tried to pick up a red head, but was turned down. I thought it was a little out of place in the book, so Im wondering if it is leading into his own book?

Rebecca | 97 comments Brittany wrote: "In the Highlander series you actually get to learn more about what things are like in Faery?? I've heard some interesting theories from those who have read the Highlander series. They seem to know..."

Yes, I heard that too. That's why I decided to read them before the fever series. Plus I heard that the cliffhanger in the fever series was horrible and I wanted to wait to start reading them until they were all out!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Afaik, Both MacKeltars (Drustan and Dageus, books 4 and 5) as well as Adam Black (book 6) will make appearances in Shadowfever. Much of the books take place at castle MacKeltar, which is where iirc Barrons and Christian went to get help that one night.

Someone is free to correct me if I'm wrong on ANY detail since I'm going off other people's posts and info.

Now as for Duncan...Book 4 is Drustan, Book 5 is Dageus, Book 6 is Adam, book 7 is Cian, the 8th is a Novella featuring someone named Aeden...

I've only read up through 6 and am about to start 7. Was Duncan even a cameo in the other books? Why don't I remember who that is?

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Okay all this talk about the Highlander series has me curious, so could someone give me the name of the first book please. Thanks! :)

message 5485: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Heidi,
I am really enjoying my kobo. So far I have put books on it that I think look interesting but I know if I buy the actual book it will just keep being moved to the bottom of the pile. I have read 13 reasons why and have started Along for the ride. I am using the kobo for books I know I will only read once. I like that you can make the font bigger or smaller. I like that it keeps track of where you left off so it can open up to that page when wanting to read again.

Just make sure that the $99 one is what you want. IF it is the same as before Christmas the $99 one is the old model. Perfectly fine if you do not need(or want) the wifi capabilities. If you DO want it to be wifi comapatable make sure the $99 one is before you buy it. Before Christmas when we bought it for my Mother in law it was final sale. Perfect for her because she doesn't have wireless internet but the one I got for Christmas IS wifi. Better for me since I am usually reading it in the car while my husband is driving the on the 401. (I get nervous on mulity lane roads with a lot of transport trucks, lol.) But with it being wifi, i can get a new book if I want at any place that has free wifi for it's customers(Starbucks)

Hope this helps you Heidi

message 5486: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Thanks for the info Lori :) p.s. I checked - the $99 is the wifi model. It is a 4 day only sale (normally $139).

message 5487: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) Heidi, that is awesome! I say grab it while you can.

I would have sent you a PM insstead of posting all that here on the thread but I though someone else might be reading this too and it could be helpful to them too.

Let me know if you get one.

message 5488: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Lori that is why I posted it here too - who doesn't love a bargin? I was wondering about the controller you use at the bottom - is it hard to use?

message 5489: by Lori (new)

Lori (tyme2read) The one for turning pages, not at all. And there is a site that is called Calibre that is mentioned in the kobo manual. It is very easy to use and allows you to buy ebooks anywhere.

Some libraries even have PDF files that you can borrow too. I have downloaded audiobooks from my library online and I know they now have PDF files but I haven't tried the, yet.

Duncan and Galan Douglas were brothers in book 3 and friends with Circenn. I guess some of the things the author put in there made me think they would get there own books. For example she mentioned that Galan needed to find a wife and then the part where Duncan tried to seduce the redhead and she turned him down because he had been with so many other women. It just didnt seem important to Circenn and Lisa's story, so I figured the author was throwing it in there because she was going to write about them.
