Oh dear, is it really creepy? I'm not a fan of horror-type stuff; maybe I should steer clear!

Oh, you're right. I think I confused this series with another one. From what I've read today, there is suppose to be another HON coming out in November?

Leanna Keist | 2 comments I just finished I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith and quite enjoyed it.

I'm SOO excited to finally start The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins today! :):):)

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments So I just have to say. I'm still doing my re-read of Dreamfever (Fever, #4) by Karen Marie Moning . I had all these theories about what I thought was happening (expecially about the cliffhanger... last hundred pages or so) but since I've been reading it again I feel like I have been totally off base and am starting to change my tune about a few things. It's like when you know the end you look at everything through different eyes. We'll see if I feel differently after finishing (I'm only 100 pages in) but I'm quit disappointed in my inability to pick up on certain things.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Hunger Games is the best of the series. loved the books.

Found some great deals I wish I had known about earlier.

BirdiesBookshelves Just finished Matched (Matched #1) by Ally Condie and LOVED it! Just started Evermore (The Immortals, #1) by Alyson Noel .

message 5261: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Emily you must listen to Bloody Jack on audio (when the kids aren't around). The rest of the book is pretty clean I think. Anyway - the narrator is Jacky. She rocks!

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Lloyd,

Thanks for the heads up about these websites. I just signed up with mobileread.com yesterday and this morning I had a email from a ebook author wanting me to interview her for my blog..that was cool! I am always looking for authors to interview!!

message 5264: by Traci (new)

Traci going to start After by Amy Efaw today

message 5265: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Since we have been talking a lot about ebooks/ereaders I was wondering. If you buy a Kindle does that mean you can only buy from amazon, that you can't get stuff from B&N and the same with the Nook you can only by from B&N and not amazon? I have been thinking about getting one and I am more of a B&N person but sometimes get stuff from Amazon which is why I like having them on my ipod I can get from both. :) So I was just curious, thanks.

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Does anyone remember where Peep posted that info about getting overdrive to work with a MAC. I've downloaded overdrive and have some audiobooks on them, but it's not letting me access library books from my Mac so I can transfer them over to my phone or ipod.

Anyone have any thoughts?

message 5267: by Gwennie (last edited Jan 08, 2011 10:31AM) (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) The Kindle holds different file types. I'm not sure about the Nook. I downloaded the free book link Peep posted for me, so I'm sure there are ways to get sites from other places as long as it is a file type supported. You just download them into your Kindle's 'document' folder through a USB.

I'm not sure what file types B&N books are... I have a feeling that they will be different because they are trying to get you to buy their books.

I'm sure Peep knows more. :)

message 5268: by Jill (new)

Jill | 68 comments Just finished Stolen: A letter to my captor. I thought it was fantastic. Although I remember reading posts from others who said they begrudgingly sympathized with or liked the male character. I never felt that at all. I felt proud of the strong female and despised the male.

message 5269: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ashleymabus) I decided to stop reading Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce. I'm going to go back to the The Demon Trapper's Daughter by Jana Oliver.

That's awesome that you didn't fall for it. When I read it I felt like the author was purposely trying to make the reader feel for Ty. I think her hopes would be that she would give the reader a light feeling of Stockholm Syndrome.

It worked on me. I was torn up after reading it. Knowing it was wrong, but caring for him and being just as torn as the main character.

message 5271: by Lis (new)

Lis (lovelyshadowgirl) | 12 comments I just recieved my copy of Darkest Mercy and I'm currently reading it:)

message 5272: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) I started the ARC Darkness Becomes Her (Gods & Monsters, #1) by Kelly Keaton its pretty interesting so far.

message 5273: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Stormi wrote: "Since we have been talking a lot about ebooks/ereaders I was wondering. If you buy a Kindle does that mean you can only buy from amazon, that you can't get stuff from B&N and the same with the Nook..."

You can NOT get stuff from B&N if you get a Kindle and vice versa with the Nook (you can't get stuff from Amazon). With the Nook you CAN get books from Overdrive (library books/audiobooks) -- you can not do this with the Kindle. With the Nook I believe you can also get books from Borders (don't quote me). I researched ereaders up the wazoo before Christmas so I feel like I have information overflow!

message 5274: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Heidi I,

Thanks for the information. I am more of a Barnes and Noble person so I will probably get myself a Nook when I get the money to get one. :)

message 5275: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Stormi if you are on a budget they sell refurbished Nooks on B & Website as well as Overstock and Buy.com. I got mine (before I returned it) from Overstock and they were great about returning it should something go wrong- it was no hassle all the way around. They also shipped it fast I got it in 2-3 days. The refurbished models also come with a 1 year warranty from B&N.

message 5276: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Elizabeth I just finished an adult fiction book (so I won't mention it here lol). But now I'm on to reading Dash & Lily's Book of Dares. I also recently bought Secondhand Charm and received The Wake of the Lorelei Lee: Being an Account of the Adventures of Jacky Faber, on her Way to Botany Bay, the next Bloody Jack book, for my birthday. Can't wait!!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments So I'm reading The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff and like a lot of people who have said I think it's kinda weird...in the disappointing way. At least so far. It's like the book totally loses directions at some of the point and over describes and I'm asking "why did that scene just happen." The concept is interesting but something is just not quite right.

message 5278: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Heidi,

Thanks for that tip! I am going to look some up.

message 5279: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Stormi wrote: "Heidi,

Make sure to look up "certified preowned Nook". p.s. if you get it from Overstock check around for coupons at places like Fat Wallet because Overstock always has coupons. Good luck!

message 5280: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Sarah I liked Dash & Lily and of course I love Jacky :)

message 5281: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Just started A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb on audio.

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Brittany wrote: "Does anyone remember where Peep posted that info about getting overdrive to work with a MAC. I've downloaded overdrive and have some audiobooks on them, but it's not letting me access library book..."

Hey Brittany here is the stuff that I copied:

Notes on transferring OverDrive WMA titles to Apple devices…

* iTunes v9.1 (or newer) must be installed.
* The Apple device must be formatted for use with Microsoft Windows.
* The iTunes setting 'Manually manage music…' must be enabled for the device before you can complete the transfer. Adjust this setting as follows…
1. Connect the device to your computer.
2. If it does not launch automatically, open iTunes (v9.1 or newer).
3. In iTunes, locate the device in the left vertical navigation panel (under heading 'DEVICES'), and select it.
The 'Summary' screen is displayed.
4. If it is not already checked, place a checkmark next to option 'Manually manage music…'.
5. Click the 'Apply' button.
The iTunes 'Summary' screen refreshes, and the changes are saved.
6. If desired, close iTunes.

Sarah Elizabeth Heidi I wrote: "Just started A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb on audio."

Yay!! I can't wait to read Jacky, Heidi. LOL But let me know how you like this one too! I've heard lot of people say that it was good.

message 5284: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Sarah I am downloading Bloody Jack book 5 on audio as we speak thanks to my friend Peep! I just got my PFL card in the mail yesterday and put a bunch of stuff into my PFL wish list today. Yay!

message 5285: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Elizabeth Oh I love Jacky dearly. hahaha

Thanks Peep.

Now what do I do if I don't have windows? I have a Mac... we don't use windows. My phone is an android and it speaks google/windows, but it's just getting the darn thing transferred.

Suggestions anyone?

message 5287: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I finished Awakened (House of Night, #8) by P.C. Cast and not sure what I'm reading next.

message 5288: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (last edited Jan 08, 2011 05:59PM) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) BRITTANY: nvm, let me check.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I actually wasn't thrilled with A Certain Slant of Light for some reason. The male character fell sort of flat for me.

Just started Red Glove (Curse Workers, #2) by Holly Black and then will read Wither (Chemical Garden, #1) by Lauren DeStefano

message 5290: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Oh you'll be sure to hear if I don't like it Stacia!

message 5291: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) BRITTANY: I got nothing! What kind of phone do you have? Maybe check the app store and download the Overdrive console, but I think that's only on certain phones. Also, DRM protcted WMA files won't play on anything Apple. :(

message 5292: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Overdrive is a picky site (just like audible). I have to download my wma files from Overdrive onto my phone instead of my new ereader and almost all of the ones I have in my wishlist are WMA files! Urg. OH well, at least I can use my phone to listen to them.

message 5293: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I told you you should have gotten the Sansa! Hey, have you tried any of the JD Robb In Death books? Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb I think you'd like it.

message 5294: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Nah Peep I don't need another thing to carry around- I bring my phone with me everywhere and it has external speakers so it is is no biggie just to listen to them on it. I think it is funny because I spent so much time researching ereaders that are compatable with Overdrive ebooks that I did not even think about the audiobook formats. I have not tried the Robb series yet Peep, but see it everywhere.

message 5295: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) The Sansa is TINY though. Plays all audio files.

message 5296: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I've read almost all of the In Death books. I haven't read the 3 newest ones yet. She releases a new one twice a year, I think. (I swear Nora Roberts is a robot or something. I've never seen authors put out books so fast.)

message 5297: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Okay so I don't know a lot about tech gizmos so I am just going to ask. What is a Sansa?

message 5298: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I know all about the sansa ladies! Gee wiz. If I was getting an mp3 player I would be getting a sansa clip 4, but I just bought an ereader and am trying to talk my hubby into getting another roku for my workout room (since the sony blu ray scrolling sucks), so it is not in the plans at this time.

message 5299: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Oh and to add the the sansa comment, my sony phone has an external speaker so I can listen to audio books while I get ready in the morning (as I do everyday), without the stupid headphone wires getting in the way. It is really hard to straighten your hair with ear buds in (I know I have done it several times!)

message 5300: by Tracy T. (new)

Tracy T. I started Bloody Jack Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary "Jacky" Faber, Ship's Boy (Bloody Jack, #1) by L.A. Meyer and I can't put it down. I thought about listening to the audio book, but I tend to get distracted and then before I know it, I've missed half the book.
