I think I've read the second book of the Three Sister's Island trilogy and I liked it a lot! I have no idea why I didn't read the rest of them, but now that you mentioned them I'll certainly put them on my to-read list! If they all are like the one I've read, you're gonna have a really good time reading them!!!
Enjoy!

Lisa | 30 comments Thanks Mary ! I've had to actually force myself to read different authors to try to break my Nora addiction, but, here I am running right back to her !! Once I began this one I said to myself..."oh yes, this is Nora!" Feels great to get back into her world again :)

message 58: by Mary (new)

Mary | 22 comments Oh Lisa I believe you, because it's more or less the same with me... It's good to read and experiment with other authors and genres, but it's always so good and satisfying the feeling of being back "at home" when reading Nora's books!!!:)

That's fantastic Alex, I have to say I think that's one of Nora's best if not the best of her series. Ethan and Seth were my favorite. Gloria was absolutely horrid, wasn't she?

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7079 comments Mod
This series ties with the Gallaghers of Ardmore as my most favorite. Thrilled that you love it, too.

Alex is The Romance Fox (wwwaromancefoxblogspotcom) | 24 comments I really can't choose...i just love all her series...i keep rereading them over and over...at least once a year i spend reading all her books...CRAZY,......i know.

message 68: by Julia (new)

Julia (juliace) I've read almost everything she's written. The first book I read by her was Irish Thoroughbred when she was still with Silhouette. I would have to say that my favorite stand alones are The Witness, True Betrayals, Genuine Lies, and Birthright. My favorite series are Born In Trilogy Collection, In the Garden Collection, and Three Sisters Island collection. And I love the whole "In Death" series by J.D. Robb (but from what I understand that's a whole other group)

message 69: by Talya (new)

Talya | 814 comments Mod
That's true Julia, since Nora keeps her titles written under the J.D. Robb pen-name separate from her titles written under the Nora Roberts pen-name, we figured we'd respect that by having different forums for discussions.

I hope to get to all of Nora's titles, I have read 69 of her mass market titles so far, but I hope to get more of her Silhouette works read. So far I've read the first five of the MacGregor series.

message 70: by Julia (new)

Julia (juliace) I have read everything she's written by Silhouette, but (and this is my GGRRRR moment) when she really got popular and left them, I got rid of those books. Now I regret it and it's very difficult to find them w/ their orginal covers. But I have been trying to pick them up when I get lucky enough to find them.

message 71: by Giulia (new)

Giulia | 112 comments The Chesapeake series keeps coming up here. Glad I started there. It's the only books I've read as I'm also a newbie. I started with Cam's natrually, and have all the others. I did like it a lot.

I recently picked her latest Dark Witch (The Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts . Got a bit of a deal on the trade paperback, which was sweet as they wanted over ten bucks for the ebook. I love PNR so can't wait to start this. Thanks for the recommendations and input everyone.

I'm starting it, too, in a couple of days.

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 213 comments I started with Irish Thoroughbred - her first book - too, Julia. I loved it and then went on a mission to get and read them all! According to her book list, mission accomplished! I've never read a book of hers that I didn't like...granted I love some more than others, but never one I didn't like. Starting Dark Witch this week.

Calle | 11 comments I'm a fairly recent NR fan. I got Midnight Bayou for $2 on Kindle last summer and LOVED it. And have been slowly but surely working my way through her books, but had no idea how many books she's written! It's kind of daunting!

But besides MB, I've read Carolina Moon, and the entire Bride Quartet and I literally just finished the Sign of Seven Trilogy and I'm not over it yet. I have couple of books that I've collected but I haven't had a chance to read - Montana Sky, The Reef, Birthright and Dark Witch.

And I have a late birthday Amazon gift card burning a hole in my pocket and I think I'm going to stock up on a couple more. Any suggestions?

I think you'd love her Gallagers of Ardmore trilogy, first book Jewels of the Sun, and the Chesapeake Bay Saga, first book Sea Swept. Both are tied as my most favorite. I also loved the Three Sisters Island trilogy, first book, Dance Upon the Air.

Hey Jonetta,I think that ur really gonna like Dark Witch,it's a great love story! I'm just about finished with it,already on chapter 19 so far and it's so good that I can't seem to put the book down,it's that good, lol! I should have the book finished bfore Christmas! Not only does it have romance but it also has potions and just alotta different stuff in it. I don't wanna give away too much, but I do think that u'll like it! To me, this trilogy book is different as I haven't read any of her witch trilogys bfore! I haven't read the 3 Sisters Island, or any of her trilogys that have alot to do with witches, lol! I'm tryin' to work my way to those, too! But if ur into witches and other stuff then this trilogy book is just for u! I can't wait for Shadow Spell and even Blood Magick to come out next year but that's alright 'cause I gotta lot of catchin' up to do with my Nora collection, lol! Good luck on readin' Dark Witch and let me know how the book goes for ya! Happy readin' to ya!

Lisa Hi, I am a newbie to Nora Roberts, am half way through her JD Robb series so thought I would try her others. I really enjoy her writing. So far only read The Witness, Whiskey Beach and Homeport. I too didn't realise how many books she has written am glad though as will have ample to keep me going for some time to come.

message 80: by Giulia (new)

Giulia | 112 comments I haven't read a lot either Lisa, but I enjoyed Sea Swept (Chesapeake Bay Saga #1) by Nora Roberts and intend to continue the series.

Lisa, sorry I missed your post!!! I agree with Jewels...it's a great series, one of my most favorite.

~~Poulomi Sylphrena Tonk$~~ Hey there! I wanted some help. Recently i decided to start on with J.D. Robb "In Death" series, and as i'm very new to Nora's, in a bookfair, i ended up buying book no. 18 in that series, Divided in Death .. I sure intend to buy the previous ones, but that will have to wait, for now.. Do you all think I can make out all that's happening it this book without reading the earlier ones right now, or should i wait and collect all those, before starting on with this one?

I'm going to give you my honest but biased opinion. This series is best enjoyed reading in order. One of the most critical aspects of the series is the character development, which begins with the first book. Each book represents only one month of elapsed time from the previous book.

With this book specifically, there are relationships with Roarke that you won't really appreciate without having the background on the characters and their intertwined relationships. It's a really good book, too.

Most that read the books out of order later went back and reread the series in order.

Just my opinion:)

~~Poulomi Sylphrena Tonk$~~ Yeah, many of my friends suggested the same, that the characters appear sketchy if not read in order. Okay then, i'll now start my hunt on this series from the beginning!thanks!

You're welcome. I think you'll thank your friends for this advice.

message 86: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 213 comments Ditto what Jonetta said! Definitely in order. Even though these books will stand alone, there's way too many characters introduced and developed from book to book to skip around. I think you'll be glad later on if you read them in order.

message 87: by Quynh (last edited Jan 25, 2014 08:50AM) (new)

Quynh (quynh_o) | 218 comments In my personal opinion, In Death is a series that MUST be read in order. Yes some book can read as a standalone, but I don't think the reader will appreciate the little nuances or tidbits that get thrown in if you hadn't read the previous book. For example, the gray button. you'll have to read and find out. It may sound like a tiny insignificant item, but the meaning behind it is so huge that if it was just mentioned quickly in a passage, you might disregard it instead of having a sigh moment. :)

message 88: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 213 comments Ah yes, Quynh...that gray button. It's the little things that are so big in this series...means so much!

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7079 comments Mod
Are you even more convinced, Poulomi?:) Thanks, Sandra and Quynh!!

message 90: by Lynne (new)

Lynne Agreed: read in order. I started in the middle before I realized this and went back to the beginning.

~~Poulomi Sylphrena Tonk$~~ Jonetta wrote: "Are you even more convinced, Poulomi?:) Thanks, Sandra and Quynh!!"

Oh yes, definitely, couldn't have been more convinced! Who else would've known better about this than Nora lovers! Thanks people! That's really was some great help. :)
