Can I just say I've done most or a lot of those things but being a Queenslander , I think there should have been the question "have you ever seen a cane fire". The smell from a cane fire is entirely different to a bush fire.

Heard a kookaburra laughing. Unfortunately I've only seen one in the zoo, and it wasn't laughing. I wouldn't either.

Hill Hoist - four sided rotating washing line, all Aussie kids have fond memories of spinning around hanging onto one with their feet of the ground

Tim Tams - best chocolate coated biscuit in the world, gaining popular in America and can be bought at some stores - check it out

AFL football - nothing like rugby. Some teams in America (mostly expat Aussies). try Google.

ANZAC (Aust NZ Army Corps) day - April 25th, our war memorial day, commemorates the landing of ANZAC troops at Gallipoli in Turkey in WWI. They eventually had to retreat after 8 months of fierce fighting and thousands killed. A national holiday and services are held at Dawn all over the country.
