message 220: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Dutton | 19 comments Half way through Water for Elephants.

message 221: by Jaime (new)

Jaime (jedipixie) So I am only about 30 pages in with "Bone Fire" by Mark Spragg and I am stopping. I rarely find books that I stop at the very beginning, I actually think this is only my second. When I am 30 pages in and feel the book is ALL over the place, I am out. Reading is enjoyable and I am not going to force myself to read a book I am simply not liking. I chose this book March of last year because the description sounded good but I have never read Mark Spragg before and unfortunately this book did not grip me :/ I feel guilty because I want to be able to read all the books I add on my list but like I said I am not going to force myself. Well on to the next!

I started it today and I gotta say... I'm impressed! I rarely like a book this much in the beginning, and I'm usually skeptical when it comes to new and popular books.

I did the same thing with a book called "CLAWS." It is very rare for me to actually put down a book, but I just could not get into that one at all!

Rebecca (bexsi) I've finished Wuthering Heights Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë Everything about this book makes it makes it truly brilliant. 5 stars
Midnight Sun Midnight Sun (Twilight, #5) by Stephenie Meyer I loved the story from Edwards point of view. 5 Stars
Hush, Hush Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick The storyline certainly keeps you interested, but i personally found it hard to read. 3 stars
My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding (Includes Dark-Hunter, #9.1; Sookie Stackhouse, #6.1) by P.N. Elrod There is not enough here that stands out, Maybe it's a case of trying to cram too many authors in to one book. 3 stars
A Great and Terrible Beauty A Great and Terrible Beauty (Gemma Doyle, #1) by Libba Bray The writing was gorgeously elaborate great, but sometimes so elaborate I didn't actually know what was going on. 3 stars

I am reading WAY too many books at once! I'm reading...
Shiver- Half way through it. So, far it's a little slow. There isn't a lot of action, and the writing is a little choppy. However, I like the idea of the book and I like Sam. I don't see the chemistry between the main characters though...

Greywalker-Just began reading this one. Not sure what I think yet...

Covet- I started this one a while ago and was disappointed. I loved the Black Dagger Brotherhood, so I thought I would love this series too. I'm about half way through it and I am not into the book at all. Although with BDB I didn't like the first book, and ended up loving the rest of the series...

I Am Number Four-I have been listening to this one on audiobook before bed. I'm slightly bored with it. However, I'm not too far into it yet. The movie was awesome, so I am going to stick it out to see if the book measures up.

The Lost Hero- This is a cute book. I have read all of Rick Riordan's other books too, and this one definitely gives the other books a run for their money.

stormhawk | 1184 comments The Sentry - Robert Crais

A cow orker got it as a FirstReads book and lent it to me. It's a really exciting adventure/mystery.

message 249: by Helen (new)

Helen How do you keep track of them Joy? I can only read one at a time!

message 250: by Rachel Alice (new)

Rachel Alice | 34 comments I try to keep my currently reading list down to two books, one to read in my room, and one to carry around with my (because you never know when you'll need one).

Right now I'm reading The Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the Periodic Table of the Elements, it's good, but I can't really do non-fiction for any length of time; I've been reading this one on and off for 3 months.
