You see, Sarah, I think telling him it's not a date just relieved him of the pressure of having to be being extra nice to you, while keeping the idea in the back of his mind that he might get lucky (that thought is always there for guys, trust me.)

I didn’t mean that men and women can’t be friends. I’ve had very good friends that were women, some very attractive – I just don’t believe that a guy would happily pursue friendship (especially relentlessly), after being denied the deeper relationship.
