Anyways, currently reading:

Kelley (shewolf0316) June has been a BAD reading month for me, with barely anything getting finished. Been either too busy or too sick or watching too much DVR'ed TV (there's a reason I resisted DVR for so long and this is why. LOL). I've only finished 7 books so far this month and I usually read twice that in a month.

But I do have several going at present:
Print:
Cassie Palmer Book 1: Hunt the Moon by Karen Chance

Bath Room Book 1 - Once Upon a Kiss by Nora Roberts, Jill Gregory, Ruth Ryan Langan, and Marianne Willman

Bath Room Book 2 - Spellbound: Anything’s Possible by Judith McWilliams

Bath Room Book 3 - In a Fairy Tale World Book 5: Nighttime Sweethearts by Cara Colter

eBook:
On Kobo - Out of the Bottle Book 3: Three Wishes by Jenny Schwartz

On Nook - The Shadow Wolf by Bonnie Vanak

On Kindle - Summer's path by Scott Blum

Audio:
In Car - Cleopatra by Stacy Schiff

On iPhone - The Scent of Shadows: The First Sign of the Zodiac by Vicki Pettersson

Everywhere Else - Eve Duncan: Eve by Iris Johansen

Other Randoms I go back and forth on when I want to in various formats:
Dreg City Book 1: Three Days to Dead by Kelly Meding (eBook)

Dark Days Book 1: Nightwalker by Jocelynn Drake (audio)

message 362: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I finished reading Dark Prince (Carpathians, #1) by Christine Feehan , which I really enjoyed. My plan now is to finish up Paradise by Judith McNaught , and perhaps start another PNR.

mwahahaha! Jinx! I am in your head Michelle! Or you're in mine... it's a bit crowded in here though, with all the other personalities :-p
I was thinking this would make a good buddy read also, it would be fantasmagorical to see what other people think of it as it progresses and how that changes by re-read or first-read... It would be a re-read for me but I don't think I'll ever get tired of Outlander. It's just about timing, but if we could chunk it up well so it didn't get too overwhelming or drag on too long, 'twould be perfect!

So.... anyone else keen for a buddy read on this one? I have it as an ebook, so happy to start whenever!

Just let me know when you want to start. The library opens in an hour here, and now that I've got it in my head, I have to have it! But, I can wait start it once I have it under my roof, LOL! Now, I'm wondering if I want to get the audiobook, or just read it.

LMAO!!! I ken! I ken! I started laughing so hard that my dogs went crazy! Between Kresley Cole's IAD series, and Outlander, I think I have reading the scottish accent down. But you're right, if its narrator uses an accent, it better done well.

No need to apologize! I'm currently on a "stay-cation" myself. Yeah, I've decided to give the audio of Outlander a try. I figured it won't take me half as long to listen as it did to read the actual book.

Lina | 5563 comments Just out of curiousity, where's a good site to get some audio books cheap? My library has less than 50 titles (2 of those are romance, mostly biographies) available and I'd like to give it a try... Any recommendations?

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments Lisa Kay wrote: "First book: 32.5 hours. Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon"

Geez! I don't know what I was thinking. I guess I could look at it like having a second job for a week or so. My commute to work is about 15 minutes now, so getting "reading" done to and from work won't put much of a dent in it. Hmmm.... I guess the bulk of the listening can be done in the evenings after work if I sacrifice my Frasier and Golden Girls reruns, LOL!

I don't know about iTunes, I was looking on there thinking about trying an audiobook, and all the ones I was looking at were $20-some dollars. Having no experience with audio before, I was expecting to pay at the very most $10, so I was shocked to see how expensive they were.

message 382: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yeah, Kit★, they are pretty expensive. Maybe a lending group that works like NetFlix might be better.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments I'm about to start On the Way to the Wedding (Bridgertons, #8) by Julia Quinn because I've actually never read it before, somehow missed this one when I got all the other Bridgertons. I know it'll be good :)

message 384: by Zoe (new)

Zoe For free Audio books, have you tried Libravox? I think that's how it's spelled. I learned about it through one of my knitting podcasts - CraftLit - which is actually only a couple minutes of the host chatting about knitting, spinning, etc, then she launched into 50 or so minutes of a libravox recording of a book (usually classics - P&P, Wilkie Collins, Dickens).

Also, my library is starting to offer more audio books than ever - talk to your librarian about interlibrary loans (getting audios from other libraries) or how to request an audio version of a book. There's not much romance on audio in my library - which is fine, because hearing the naughty bits read out loud STILL makes me giggle - but Amanda Quick, Nora, Lisa Kleypas - they have some of each of those.

What a great system, Thanks Zoe!!
I've been going through the catalogue at Librivox and there are plenty of titles there.

I can understand that. I've never listened to an audio romance, but yeah I think I'd be a touch uncomfortable listening to that while driving. And imagine if it's nice weather and your windows are down?

message 390: by Zoe (new)

Zoe And have any of you checked out the Audio group here on Goodreads? You don't have to join to read some of their discussions - these people are SERIOUS about their Audio books - there's a topic about what listening devices you use and where to get free audio - I think the only word I understood in there was "MP3 player" and after that I got lost, but for some of you who are more technical minded, it's worth a stop!

message 391: by Zoe (new)

Zoe Also, I need to update more! Currently listening to Lost in a Good Book (Thursday Next, #2) by Jasper Fforde and reading The Tale of Hawthorn House (The Cottage Tales of Beatrix Potter, #4) by Susan Wittig Albert but after that I think it's going to be How to Knit a Love Story by Rachel Herron (a ridiculously popular book that I had to purchase because my library isn't crazy about new authors).

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments Finished On the Way to the Wedding (Bridgertons, #8) by Julia Quinn . Another good book by JQ, though probably not my favorite of them all. But it was good, and cute and funny. Pretty much just what I was expecting :)

It's got the backing of Jane from Dear Author and Sarah from Smart Bitches Trashy Books blogs. Both have gone on about how it's a really great contemporary and within the first few pages I've found myself thinking "Oh no... maybe I'm expecting too much now."
I'll let you know how it goes. I have it on ebook if you like.

I have The Lost Duke on my TBR pile, Kit★. I love JQ and I think I'm in a historical-romance mood at the moment, so might have to move that one further up the list. Would love to hear what you think when you're done.
