Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yes, that's a pitfall, Tracey. I think I did that with Serpent's Kiss (Elder Races, #3) by Thea Harrison and then just quit listening to it... I really should get back to that audiobook.

rameau | 90 comments I'm reading A Clockwork Christmas by Stacy Gail
Unfortunately I was nitpicking through the first story, so it took me ages, but I'm enjoying the second story more.

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Tracey, I really don't like reading more than one book at a time. I tend to do that if I get bored with the story...put it on hold while I pick up something else. However, it wasn't the case this time. I LOVE the Victoria Dahl book but didn't have it near me and have been wanting to read the Liz Fielding one so I started it (and finished it today lol)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments I'm currently reading The Memory of Running for another group, but we are leaving tomorrow morning to go to my sister-in-law's until Tuesday night or Weds morning, so I'm taking Skye O'Malley with me as a stress-reliever. I already know these next few days won't be fun, so hopefully some B.Small craziness will cheer me up. Wish me luck guys, see y'all next week! :)

Thanks Vanessa! Just got published last March and so far I've had excellent response. The sequel will be published soon. Feel free to send a friend request on fb :)

Tracey Smith | 415 comments Almost finished with Destined for an Early Grave (Night Huntress, #4) by Jeaniene Frost it's not what I'd expected based on the back cover that Cat and Bones were finally taking a vacation I thought perhaps there would be a little respite for these two. Some romance before the action started. But that wasn't to be. Most of the book they've spent fighting. That being said I read 220 pages in one sitting because I couldn't put it down until I knew what happened between them. So I'm not saying I don't like it, just that if you're looking for love and romance this isn't the book... There have been a handful of hot sex scenes though ;)

Vanessa (ihavealwayslovedtoread) Lisa Kay wrote: "What do you do on Australia Day, CaroB & Vanessa? Fireworks, bar-b-que?"

CaroB wrote: "Australia Day :-)"

It's a public holiday here in Aust Lisa Kay as it was the day Austalia was founded! It's our birthday! Carob may need to help me out but we usually do celebrations and a concert takes place - is this right Carob? Each capital city usually does their own and the capitial city Canberra has a big event thing on this day and it's tele cast around Aust and that's also when they announce Australian of the Year and give them the medal and all that. They might do fireworks at the end of the night and put on a big BBQ but I;ve really been following it for a couple of years so not so sure.

rameau | 90 comments Aww, the life of reading ARCs. I'm reading Marian's Christmas Wish by Carla Kelly and liking it much better than Liar's Guide to True Love by Wendy Chen which I had to flounce. And I do not jilt books easily.

message 826: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Lisa Kay wrote: "What do you do on Australia Day, CaroB & Vanessa? Fireworks, bar-b-que?"

We usually spend the morning on the water, either kayaking/yachting or just swimming at the beach, have an afternoon BBQ with friends and set up somewhere to watch the fireworks (with a glass of wine in hand) in a park. The kids usually go back to school from their 6 week summer break a couple of days after Australia Day so it's kind of a farewell to the holiday season as well. It's what I imagine the 4th of July must be like for you guys. Does that sound similar?

message 827: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments I must admit, I love the idea of thanksgiving, even without the pilgrim tradition here in Oz, but just to have a day to be thankful for all the blessings in our lives seems great to me.
I hope all you US residents had a lovely thanksgiving!

Cheryl (cawils_99) Happy Black Friday to all those nuts who waited in line for those doorbusters! I finished my 12 hour shift at Target this morning at 11:30am. Now after a short nap I'm going to start The Bride (Lairds' Fiancees, #1) by Julie Garwood .

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments I'm back from my oh-so-exciting "getaway" to visit the other side of the family. Finished Skye O'Malley while I was down there and really enjoyed it though it was sort of silly in places. I also finished the other book I was reading, The Memory of Running. Not sure what I want to read next... I need to write my reviews for those two, and catch up on the discussion for Memory... Can't decide... too many choices... lol :)

One of my favorites in the series, but JR Ward's world takes some getting used to, Lisa Kay. Hopefully you'll have success this time.
