Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Oh, Carob, I've got that on my list. Glad to know it's got humor in it. It may move up my TBR list.

I'm almost finished with The Promise in a Kiss (Cynster, #7.5) by Stephanie Laurens Even though GR says it's 7.5 in the Cynster series, if you read the summary, it's actually the prologue for the whole series.

message 609: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Smith | 415 comments OH yeah! I forgot about that one Carob! I'm planning a bookstore run tomorrow, I'll have to pick that one up too! Almost finished with One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, #2) by Jeaniene Frost and going to see if I can find To Taste Temptation (Legend of the Four Soldiers, #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt so I can do the buddy read on that one.

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments A bookstore run? Can I go with you? I haven't been to the bookstore since May *grumbles* I've been buying at Walmart or the grocery store or ebay heehee I could spend hours (and hundreds of dollars) in the bookstore :)

message 611: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (ihavealwayslovedtoread) I could spend so much money in the book store too! I;ve strted Jodi Picoult Harvesting the Heart but it;s not as good as the Sing Me Home. I've stopped it for the time being s I couldn;t really get into it and have started The Family Man by Fiona Palmer. It;s about life on an Australian Farm. I will get back into Harvesting the Heart. I'm going away next weekend so will get a ton of reading done then!

message 612: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Smith | 415 comments Sure Susan, I live in Arkansas. You can come to the bookstore with me if you can get here by 11:00. LOL. There's a great used bookstore near the doctor's office where I work. I have spent many lunch breaks there :). I always go there first but if I have something specific in mind that they don't have I go to Books-a-million or Walmart next. Today I have a list of specific books, I hope I get lucky at the used store, because I have a stack to trade in and it'll be a lot cheaper than Books-a-million!

@Vanessa, I have a copy of Harvesting the Heart sitting in my drawer waiting to be read, but I haven't been in the mood for something like that yet. Interested to know what you think of it when your done.

No worries! I started reading it because someone recommeded it nd I read a Joid Picoult book a few weeks ago and loved it but this one;s just not doing it for me! I;ve started it and it was okay but I picked up another book today from the book shelf and it looks relly really good and I;ve been l=meaningto read it for ages so I thought I;d start on that. I will finich Harvesting the Heart. I still can;t wait to read other Jodi Picoult's. I bought a whole stack the other week and can;t wait to get into them but this one's just not doing ot for me but will let you know what it;s like

message 615: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Smith | 415 comments Susan I live in Hot Springs, about 45 min. from Little Rock. Where's your hubs working? Mine drives trucks, so he crosses through Alabama a lot :).

Well Vanessa, a book you can put down and walk away from doesn't say much for the book :(. I wasn't sure about this one when it was given to me by a co-worker because I'm not sure if she and I have the same taste and when I read the summary it didn't jump out at me as "oh I want to read that". But it will remain in my drawer until I get around to it.

Tracey Smith | 415 comments Well I struck out at the used bookstore. I think I've learned I never find what I'm looking for when I'm looking for something specific, but find tons of stuff when I'm just randomly shopping. I did however find the next two books in the Night Huntress series. So At Grave's End (Night Huntress, #3) by Jeaniene Frost is on the agenda for tonight :)

Susan, I OD'd on LS several years ago; read all her back-list straight through, LOL! (Stupid me.) But I still read Devil's Bride (Cynster, #1) by Stephanie Laurens about once a year. Love Devil. You can't really call him a hero in pursuit - he's done with that; he's just determined, LOL!

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Lisa Kay, a friend sent me the first 8 Cynster books, so I could easily OD on them LOL I've come to learn that historical romances are my thing. LOVE THEM! And yes, he's determined. Gotta love a man that knows what he wants. Too bad she's just realized she might want to marry him but she thinks there's "no passion" between them. I think I might like to slap her, cause if what they have is no passion, my marriage is dead ;)

Heather (messybar) | 1307 comments Finished The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern . I really wanted to love it. Enjoyed how it started out, but then it became this chopped up swirl of words with no connectable emotion behind them.
It was a very pretty world Erin Morgenstern created, but there was no tangible substance for me and so many things were left open-ended at the end.
Off to read Awaken Me Darkly (Alien Huntress, #1) by Gena Showalter . 180% opposite direction. lol
