Vanessa, I read that one a few months ago and loved it! She's been a favourite of mine for years, but there are a few that have felt formulaic. Would be interested to know what you think of some of her other books!
After finishing
I was so impressed with Courtney Milan that I had to hunt down the first of the same series. So, trying to ignore the mixed order and all, I'm reading now
Oh, and if you want to know why: Here's the link to my review.

Vanessa, do you mean a suggestion about a particular Picoult book or a romance? If it's Picoult, I'd probably just suggest ones to stay away from (Songs of the Humpback Whale comes to mind)
CaroB wrote: "Great review rameau!"Hi CaroB,
I was just asking if anyone had anyrecommendations about a Jodi Picoult book to read to let me know. just asking anyone really but put the question to you as you have read some. Anyway, if you have any suggestions for a Picoult book, let me know! That was all!,

Vanessa wrote: "I was just asking if anyone had any recommendations about a Jodi Picoult book to read to let me know."I've been looking at her books, Vanessa. A few would fit into some of my challenges... but I haven't tried her yet. My library has a couple of her's. This is in audiobook:
My library went up with the new icons for all the downloadable Kindle books and they have the second one shown above, plus:
I have a copy of
that a friend gave me. She highly recommended it, but I haven't gotten to it yet. If anyone else reads first let me know what you thought, when I read I'll let you know. We'll see who gets to it first :)
Finished
, rameau and CaroB.I really enjoyed it. Alexia was a hoot and I liked it far more than I thought I would. I have a hit and miss (mostly miss) relationship with anything historical, but this one was witty, funny, snarky and smart. Well written and I hope you both get to read it soon!
Almost finished with Alabama Twilight, haven't read too many historicals. Picked this one up on a suggestion needing to fullfill a challenge requirment. Absolutely loving it!
Harvesting the Heart was an interesting, emotional read IMO. It's definitely not her best, and at times you want to shake the main character and tell her to snap out of it and stop being so selfish. I remember I didn't like the end. But even then I gave it 4 stars. I enjoy the richness of Ms Picoult's words, she creates evocative characters, and love them or hate them, she has the ability to make you feel for them. Also, her books make you think and make you question yourself. I truly love most of her works. Like I said, it would probably be fairer for me to say which of her books haven't worked for me, and those mostly because I began to find, having read almost of her books, that some of the plots were becoming formulaic.

Excellent! Thanks Heather, it's just moved up on my TBR list!
Heather, thanks. I'll see if I can get my hands on it sooner rather than later.I just started my Avenger's Angel (sorry, no link since I'm on my phone) arc and it's a bit heavy start with the world building.

Just finished Alabama Twilight, really enjoyed it. It was exactly what I was in the mood for. Now starting
. I like to mix it up, going from Antebellum Alabama plantations to vampire hunters... :)
Just finished
and loved it. I both love and hate finding out I am going to love a series when there are so many written - because -"Yay" there are so many to read and "Yowza" there are so many to read.Speaking of series, I'm on the 3rd book in the Maisie Dobbs series
. SO good. If you like mysteries, historicals, or audio books, it's a great series about a female psychologist/detective in post WWI england. Very romantic without having any romance - you know what I mean?

I would love to read this too. I really liked the first one.
Oh Heather, can't wait to see what you think of that one!! I kept wavering between 4 and 5 stars for it.
Wow! Different cover, LibraryLass. I read that a couple of years ago, but I noticed my library has it in audio... I may do a re-read via my ears.
Yes it is LK. I am doing a re-read of this. I only got 3 books into series and quit, but I'm going to give it another try.
Finished The Smoke Thief. It was good, but I wasn't head-over-heels with it either. Trying to get into Magic Bites and it's a slow go. Might switch to something else if it doesn't capture me soon.
LibraryLass wrote: "Yes it is LK. I am doing a re-read of this. I only got 3 books into series and quit, but I'm going to give it another try."That is about when I quit too. I think there were a couple that sounded a bit alike - that maybe wouldn't have been so bad if I had spaced them out a bit. I have the whole series... I should get back to it.

I give you a bit about what is going on (though you probably know already) without giving any spoilers... plus, I listed a link to a web page.
I want to read the Sherrilyn Kenyon Dark Hunter series. I read the short story that is part of it, Dragonswan, in an anthology and LOVED it!
