I'm only on page 25 but so far I like it. I like Mary Roach's writing style. I thought it might be dry but it moves along nicely.
I really am bad, but Started Moby Dick, and tonight will read A Christmas Carol to the kids.
I'm not too far into it, it's okay. It's hard cause I really like Interview with the Vampire and Atonement but I'm jsut about done with both of those. You should start Moby with me! I think I'm on page 9 or 10.

Now I can relax with a clean conscience.
Celebrating by reading the 'His Dark Materials' trilogy. Never read it, all I know about it is what I saw in the trailers for the movie so I'm excited about it. Especially since Pullman uses Danish words (panserbjørne, dæmon)...

Not happy with this book. Especially the ending. The book is long and you get really engrossed with the characters and the stuff about the dogs and the story ends not the way I thought it would.
Kind of book I want to throw across the room.
So, I'm going to read The Christmas Train. I've already read it and know how it ends and I'm happy. :)
Congrats Christina! Now you can take a nice relaxing break to read!

I am reading 4 books in total:
The Greek Key - Colin Forbes
Lucky - Alice Sebold
When the Bough Breaks - Jonathan Kellerman
In Their Footsteps - Tess Gerritsen

Kellie, sorry to hear that you didn't like Edgar Sawtelle - I am planning on reading it soon ...

I'm now reading:
Falling Leaves by Adeline Yen Mah

Gods Own Country by Ross Raisin - first person narrative about a teenager from Yorkshire that lives in a farm at the top of the hill and watches as the town below grows higher and closer to him. He is mocking of the townfolk and their ignorance of country ways but he then falls for the daughter of some newcomers. Increasingly disturbing yet remaining hilarious at the same time - wonderful.
Also - If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things by Jon McGregor which alternates from third person to first person. Its about the effect of a tragic event on a street and how the residents react to it. Its a beautifully written poetic book and staggering for a debut novel

Cool - at a reading or a workshop or something? And what country is he from? I have no idea. Beautiful book though I havent checked if he has written anything else since.

So Many Ways to Begin (2006)
I met him in October/November for a workshop kind of thing. Listened to him read and he has a soothing voice lol.

Old2New: finished it last night. It's a sobber!

Emilee: What did you read and finish hun?
My Sister's Keeper! Great book. Almost done with Atonement!
My kids gave me four books for Christmas so I really have to get reading so I can start them!

I have several books half-finished right now but the one that has most of my attention is the short book Clash of Civilizations Over an Elevator in Piazza Vittorio by Amara Lakhous.
