Introduce Yourself - Part Deux!
I love all three, Star Wars, Dr. Who, and Star Trek. I can't wait for Into Darkness to be released in May. The thing I really can't understand is the rivalry between fans...the series are great and each has their own merit. I also love Firefly, Warehouse 13, and Dollhouse. Anyone else watch them? Welcome to the new members...we always have lots of fun here!

We have a four step program for that. It goes a little something like this....
1) Buy, beg or borrow Paranormal books
2) Read Paranormal books
3) Discuss Paranormal books here
4) Repeat
:) LOL
I've got Firefly on DVD and I'm DVRing Warehouse 13, but haven't seen either of them yet. Time, where art thou?Dollhouse hasn't played here yet.
Yay!!! New members!!!!
Sara,
I somehow missed you and just realized it. I like a lot of the same authors you do. Glad to have you in the group. I wonder when George R.R. Martin's next book will come out. Have you read all the books in the Game of Thrones series?
I just finished the 2nd book in the GoTs series. I liked it a lot better than the first. I don't know when the next book will be out. I've heard that it should be in the next year or two.
Lisarenee, Hi! Yep, I've read all of the Game of Thrones books along with the Dunk and Egg short stories. Hopefully, the next book comes out soon - the last one ended with the fates of some of my favorite characters up in the air - I need to know if they survived.
Kristin,
Wait until you get to the 3rd book - that will blow your mind - try to avoid any spoilers for it because a lot happens in that book.
Hi - I'm Karen, and I read lots!!My favorite authors are Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Kim Harrison, Seanan McGuire to name a few. I'm always on the look-out for new UF and PNR.
I'd like to discuss books with other readers.
BTW: Spoiler slut here, I'm always looking for them and I don't like a lot of cliff-hangers and TSTL heroines.
Hi. I have been a member of this group for a while now but haven't participated before. Unfortunately I don't get much time to come and chat, so I am one of those who flits in and flits out and occasionally lurks but one of my New Years resolutions was to try to participate a bit more when I can!I love all romance genres and read a lot of PNR. Some of my favourite PNR authors are Larissa Ione, Lara Adrian, Kresley Cole, J R Ward & Christine Feehan but am always on the lookout for new authors to read & follow.

@Sandra...Dollhouse was only on for two seasons (24 episodes) went off the air in 2010. My husband bought me the set for my birthday in 2011 because it was a Joss Whedon series and I'm a huge Whedon fan...love Buffy, Angel, Firefly, so he knew I love this one as well. It's an interesting show!
Hello, I'm Maer and I'm a Book Addict. I've been reading since I was 4. My favorite genres have changed over the years and include historical fiction, mysteries, thrillers, sci fi, fantasy. However, I do tend to always go back to fantasy and sci fi. I discovered UF and fell in love with the genre so much I even wrote my own. Book 1 will be released in May, with Book 2 currently in with my betas readers. Lately, I seem to be reading mostly books for my blog author interviews and podcast author interviews. I do still manage to get the extra book in every week or so and look forward to reading the ones recommended by the group, although I'll most likely be lagging behind. I read Stewart's 3rd book in her series and was pleasantly surprised that this group was reading her first. Gotta love some JJD! Can't wait to see what else we explore.
When I'm not reading, writing, or interviewing, I teach college, play MMOs and play with my dogs.

Welcome Maer! Sounds just like me, I've skipped around a lot of genres, loved them all, and really enjoy scifi & pnr & uf.Unlike me, you're an author, good luck with the new book. Be sure to announce it in the self promotion folder when it is close to being released :D
Thanks, Sandra, I will. I started on a combo of hard sci fi and epic fantasy, but there's just something so seductive about magic and such in our world.
Hello My name is Bob Jordan (pen name, Clanci). I am an author and have a new novel coming out on Valentine's Day entitled, Unfinished Business. It fits in the category of contemporary romance, time-travel and paranormal. The promotional video is available at: http://animoto.com/play/xC8mx7rdPNYuK...
Here's an overview of Unfinished Business: An ancient door provides the portal to a man's past, offering him two opportunities: Return to 1984 to halt the bizarre accident that took his fiancee's life and retrieve a mysterious orb. Without intervention, the orb and its powers will be seized by evildoers.
For Trevor, the risks are high, but the rewards are immeasurable.
Twenty-nine years later Trevor still grieves for his fiancee killed by a hit-and-run driver the day before their wedding. That void can be filled. The choice is his.
An old German who informs Trevor that Janet's death was planned, also provides clues relating to the orb that dangled from her neck on the day she died. Those powers emanating from the orb, perpetuate time travel. Trevor's mission is to return to 1984 to prevent the tragedy that took his fiancee's life, and to keep the orb from the clutches of evildoers.
The fate of the world lies in Trevor's hands. If he refuses the old German's proposal, the necklace will be seized by madmen whose goal is world domination and, ultimately, the control of the universe.
Whooshed through the ancient door and back to the past, Trevor implements a plan—one thwarted when the same hit-and-run driver who killed his fiancee, slams into him. Near death and in a coma, Trevor's fate hangs in the balances. A second attempt on his life is barely averted when a stranger slips into the hospital room and attempts to inject something into his IV.
Trevor snaps out of the coma with, his memory of the past scattered. in bits and pieces. Even if he manages to outwit the madmen who trail him, how can Trevor fit the scattered piece together to rescue his fiancee and save the world...if he cannot recall his mission?

Hello! I'm a new goodreads member, who joined mainly because I'm addicted to books and didn't like the "recommendations" amazon was giving me for my kindle. Some of my favourite authors are paranormal romance/urban fantasy writers, so I joined this group to hopefully pick up a few more books to read!I adore Ilona Andrews, Nalini Singh, Patricia Briggs, Seanan McGuire, to name a few, and have picked up a few good recommendations through good reads!
Welcome Bob & Ses!Ses, there are always recs to be had here, just look around and check the currently reading thread as well ;)
Ses wrote: "Hello! I'm a new goodreads member, who joined mainly because I'm addicted to books and didn't like the "recommendations" amazon was giving me for my kindle. Some of my favourite authors are paranor..."Hello Ses
You're in luck. I just released a brand new paranormal/romance novel today. It's titled, Unfinished Business and it's available here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BDCESAC
Hello everyone. I'm Roni and I'm an avid reader. I love paranormal romance, historical romance, mystries and the like. I've been on a reading binge lately reading a book a day. Have this long list of books I want to read and I'm always looking for more. Anything like Laurell K. Hamilton, Chirstina Dodd, Lynsay Sands, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Ilona Andrews, Kresley Cole and the like.
Hello everyone! Im new to Goodreads and I like to read.. ALOT. My only problem is trying new authors. I absolutely love certain authors and sometimes find it hard to try new ones. Only when theres no new books in any of the series i read do i try someone else. I mostly listen to audiobooks (8-9 hours a day 5 days a week). On weekends ill read ebooks on my phone via kindle app. I love the paranormal (Charlaine Harris, Kim Harrison, Darynda Jones, Kimberly Frost etc...). Ive also delved into the world of Diana Gabaldon "The Outlander" series. Im hoping this group will give me ideas on other authors to try that i havent yet found.
Hey Cyndi!Welcome to our little group. I am sure you will find a ton of stuff to read here.
PNR can be iffy for my but I have found some really good ones.
Happy reading :-)
Welcome Star. Check out our What Are You Reading section. You will always find new authors/books there. You should also go back & check out our Meet Your Mods sections from Jan. We each highlighted our favorite authors & their books. You will probably find quite a few you've never read. Happy to have you.
Hello everyone !I just stumbled on goodreads and I discovered this group.
Like everyone here, I'm an avid reader, and as my presence here shows, I'm more prone to go for Ilona Andrews' books than Emile Zola's.
Only trouble is that for now, I've read everything published by the authors I like and need to find new gems. So here I am...
I hope to discover many new authors by browsing the group, and mayhap make other discover a few ones...
:)
Welcome Melusineistross! You're bound to find new authors to love around here.Check out the Meet the Mods posts, and you'll find some new ones for sure ;)
Thanks you Sandra, for your welcome and your guidance !I'll be sure to check out this section right away :) I sooo need a good dose of reading.
Hi everyone!I'm a big fan of Neil Gaiman (I consider some of his stuff to be Urban Fantasy) and Jim Butcher. I've read most of Charlaine Harris's Sookie books and enjoyed them. I'm looking for more interesting reads in this genre.
Waves hi to Eric. You're bound to find new authors to love here, check out what everyone else is reading ;)
Thanks Sandra. I'm hoping to find something like Jim Butler's stuff... but different, obviously. Or some Neil Gaiman-esque stuff.
Welcome Eric...do you like stuff by Kevin Hearne Patrick Rothfuss Brent Weeks or Seanan McGuire??I am sure you will find others but off that top that is what came to mind.
Eric wrote: "I'm familiar with only Patrick Rothfuss from that list. Thanks. I'll see about those other authors."YAY I am springing new authors on you already lol
