Alexis is finally getting her chance to go to college to study music. Leihsing and Lewis put a new twist on weres. Not born, but created, giving each a uniqueness I haven't seen before.
Alexis has a secret admirer and gunmen after her. Not what she expected after starting college, especially after thinking her father was overdoing it with assigning her yet another bodyguard. Overall she's nice, but she has the spoiled princess thing down pat. Even when her life's in danger she still thinks she has to have her way. At times it's a bit much.
From the beginning Derek is set up like the strong masculine alpha, but as the story moves forward he's portrayed more like a klutzy narcoleptic. In my mind he lost all alpha status. Luckily he has a team who can step up when he falls down on the job. There's also the fact that he's a were only by creation and he and his lion are in fact two different souls occupying one body. A body they can't really occupy at the same time without major awkwardness. However, Brother Lion has no problem taking control when he sees fit.
The continuity throughout the story is not always consistent. There are things that happen that aren't exactly explained and when there's a little glimpse of explanation it's something crazy like dying from hunger in a matter of minutes. The story does move consistently forward, however, the climax is also the ending. Part of me is curious to see what happens in the next book, but a bigger part doesn't really care.

I am more into Epic Fantasy usually. However after reading Princess Meredith I decided to try another similar book that a friend recommended. I was not disappointed the mystery,thrills and laughs all flowed together. The sex scenes were vivid but spaced out in the book so they were part of the characters lives not the point of the book. It's hard to explain lol. I have read books or started them at least where its sex sex and more sex with no or little story. That is not the case here.
The fact that these Weres are always a mix of animal and human never all animal is a nice change of pace on the whole shifter thing. The comedy took me by surprise, I mean a macho Werelion addicted to movies? It sounds corny but just flowed well. I admit I will read the sequel when it comes out lol.

I really enjoyed this book I love Alexis and Derek. The love scenes were out of this world. I liked the action between Derek and Alexis when she tries to go to college. When they are the run and end up in the Sexy Kitties. All in all I truly love this book I cannot wait to read the second book.

May 23, 2016At first I wasn't sure if I would like this book because of all the sex at first. I persevered and I was glad I did. Good read. Can't wait to read the next one. I won this book on Goodreads. Thank you

I loved this book. This is not my usual choice of the types of books I read but I didn't want to put it down. It caught me in the story and flows so well. I am waiting on the sequel.
