i am currently reading the hammer of eden by ken follett. so far it is really good, he is a brilliant author i would defintely read more by him any day. :)

i am currently reading the spy by clive cussler, i am about half way i probably finish it tonight.

im currently read the innocent mage by karen miller, i should finish it later today. then i may move onto the dogs of riga.

im roughly half way through Empire of Sand by Robert Ryan. it is a really good historical fiction book so far i personally think

An intriguing and fascinating book on how countries vie against each other to be top dog on the world stage. Spies, double agents, love triangles -- it’s all in a day’s work for super spy Alexey! In today’s interconnected world, this book gives an interesting perspective on how much competition goes on behind the scenes with ambitions and stakes running high. Hearts are broken and for some power is gained.
Illuminating book on the espionage sphere. Lots of mind games involved. Great book with high drama which makes for a perfect summer read!
i am about to finish the burning wire by jeffrey deaver and havent decided on what i am going to move onto when i have finished the book that i am currently reading. .... god i hate to have to make a decision on what to read next..... :(

Chemical Sensitivity, Volume I
I think this is the most important book you can ever read if you can get a copy. I had to get it on interlibrary loan and wish I could afford to own it.

I read "The Outsiders" in high school and it still is one of my favorite books. Ponyboy "Pony" Curtis is the one I most identify with. I'm interested in your opinion of this book.

I hadn't heard of the book until a few weeks ago, when I read about it on this site. I was really pleased to find it when I went to the library on Wednesday - was reading the Preface last night but just had to go to sleep!!
Today I picked up 4 more books at the library and started 2 of them. One looks very good but there is too much bad language and garbage in the other for me. One the girl drops a cigarette butt in her mother's drink to see if her drunk mother will swallow it. That gets me down right from the start and I had such high hopes for this book. Tithe
and this one is very good so far:

Hi Eric
Well, I finished The Outsiders this afternoon. I think it's an excellent book - I love the characters and yes, I think Ponyboy is a wonderful character. I just wish I'd come across it in the 1970s, when I was teaching English to teenagers. It would have been a great book to teach about characters and for all sorts of discussion topics. Still, better late than never - I've been able to enjoy it for its own sake!

I've no idea why I can't get into it. I'll go back to it in a couple of months. Sometimes you're just not in the mood!

Angela, I was like that with Let the right one In. I didn't like it from the start. Too much nasty imagery!

Dracula in Love looks good. I'd really like to know what you think of it. I'm curently reading Theodora: Empress, Actress, Whore (Sorry, Goodreads is playing up at the moment and won't let me post links). I'm enjoying it so far.
Edited to add - I can add links now! here it is:[book:Theodora Actress, Empress, Whore

Oh My! That look quite something. I'm in two minds whether to add it to my "maybe to read" books. Mind you, there's no way I'd get that out of the library! One of our librarians looks like he's only about 12 (I'm sure he'd be delighted to hear that, since he's clearly old enough for a full time job, but it's the truth). He's definitely not old enough to be handling books like that.

Glad you all warned me as I do not like nasty imaginery myself. Sookie is fine for me. I am enjoying Born on a Blue Day very much and also Fall Down Laughing. Learning lots from both of them.
Born On A Blue Day: Inside the Extraordinary Mind of an Autistic Savant
Fall Down Laughing: How Squiggy Caught Multiple Sclerosis and Didn't Tell Nobody

One of the reviewers of Fantasy Lover said it was really (intentionally) funny and there were lots of references to cheese. Are both those statements true? If they are, I'm going to have to read it, it sounds surreal (hopefully in a good way).
