Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) I don't know. One of my book groups is ovetill September so I have a bit of a reprieve but I do need to do some reading for a community book sposored by our Jewish Commuinty Canter and others in the tri state area. The book we choose has to have a Jewish theme and titles range from Unorthodox to The Bookmaker's Son. I have already read some of the titles and will write reviews to help our organizations select a book that we all will read.

message 210: by Holly (new)

Holly | 66 comments Right not I'm reading The Kennedy Women. Then I'm going to read The Kennedy Men. Then I'm going to probably read a classic. I'm thinking either A Tale of Two Cities or The Moonstone. Then I'm going to read the Dark Tower series (so excited!). Then I'll probably read either another classic or something else, then the series by George R. R. Martin. I have a lot of my list coming up. Time to do some heavy reading!

R.J. Askew (rjaskew) | 31 comments The Great Gatsby ... I've got more out of the first 5 pages than the last five novels I read. Oh yes! It's a joy.

message 214: by Aiesha (new)

Aiesha (bigtexasaj) Geez, this is a hard one because there are several series that a bookclub is reading that I want to start but there are also a few I need to read to keep up with the current series that I'm reading. So... here's just a rough draft of what I plan to read next.

The Concrete Blonde (Harry Bosch, #3) by Michael Connelly 10th Anniversary (Women's Murder Club, #10) by James Patterson Trail Of Blood by Lisa Black The Last Coyote (Harry Bosch, #4) by Michael Connelly 11th Hour (Women's Murder Club, #11) by James Patterson

This should keep me going in my Harry Bosch series, caught up in the Women's Murder Club series, and finish the Theresa MacLean series with one more to read after Trail of Blood. I usually stick to one series but it does get to be a little much reading the same author and series back to back so I'll just rotate.

message 215: by Bev (new)

Bev (greenginger) | 296 comments @Aiesha I love Michael Connelly. @Sunny let me know how Matched works out I seem to be "doing" YA dystopia at the moment. Must be a left over from Hunger Games (@ Veronica)! Also enjoyed the 50 shades books oddly hoo hmmmm blush.

I am reading Ashes by Isla Blick so if it goes well I may read another of hers but if not..... Eat Pray Love has to be next. Then I may do either Cranford or ooh choices choices.

Tigana - Guy Gavriel Kay (this months Sword and Laser choice)
Syren (Septimus Heap #5) - Annie Sage
The Golems Eye (Bartimaeus #2) - Jonathan Stroud
Eragon - Christopher Paolini

But the last three could change if something else grabs my attention before I get to them.

message 234: by Razmatus (new)

Razmatus | 57 comments the rest of Malazan series... but if that doesnt count, then it is Dune and then books by I.C. Esslemont :P

message 235: by Bev (new)

Bev (greenginger) | 296 comments Dune is a good book but the rest of the series is not as good.

message 237: by Razmatus (new)

Razmatus | 57 comments Bev wrote: "Dune is a good book but the rest of the series is not as good."

by the advice of a friend of mine who is a huge Dune fan, I will read just Dune, as he said it is pretty standalone thing, without requiring to read anything else in the series... so I will read just that one, after I finish Malazans, that is... as a kind of intermezzo before I resume my Malazan ventures for some time again as I will read through Esslemont's books :)))

then maybe some Abercrombie or Rothfuss, who knows, I hoarded up a pretty big amount of books as of late, so no problem there as to choose :P

message 238: by Bev (new)

Bev (greenginger) | 296 comments Yeah i agree with your friend about Dune. You have a good time ahead reading those authors - enjoy!

message 239: by Razmatus (new)

Razmatus | 57 comments which reminds me I got two books by Ildefonso Falcones (Cathedral of the sea and Hand of Fatima), so those will come either before or after I get to Follett's two medieval books :P

message 241: by Razmatus (new)

Razmatus | 57 comments Bev wrote: "Not heard of those I will go and research them. thanks"

he is often labelled as Spanish Follett, for the sake of the reader being able to imagine the genre he is writing... in those two books he is focusing on spanish golden age / inquisition era, and such, I think
