Barbara ★ | 3901 comments I finished If I Die (Soul Screamers, #5) by Rachel Vincent and didn't like it as much as the other series books. Kaylee did some things that were out of character and made me question her intelligence. I will continue the series as it is now going in a different direction so it might get interesting again.

message 302: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) I finished yesterday How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire for 'Vamps and the City' by Kerrelyn Sparks. 3 star read. I expected it to be much funnier.

Nicola | 649 comments Can I join this one for the next list, or is it an ongoing challenge? If I join do I have to participate in every two week period or can I pick and choose the ones that work for me?

This site is addictive!!

message 304: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments you can join in whenever you want - you don't have to participate all the time - Yz will post the new list each week and then you have 4 weeks to read it

message 305: by Joann (new)

Joann | 973 comments I finished Micah on 01.03.12. 3 stars - way to short for an Anita book...

I finished reading Divine Misdemeanors over the weekend. It was horrible, I have no idea why I keep reading her books. I certainly don't pay money for them, I get them from the library. How are these things still getting published? Where is her editor?? She must have a formula posted on her office wall that she follows with every single book. Noirish introduction, introduce mysterious plot, have sex, boyfriends argue, placate manhood, have sex, boyfriends argue, placate manhood, have sex, boyfriends argue, complain about having so much sex, use sex to solve mystery. The end. *sigh* It's like a bad car accident. I keep reading because I want to see some carnage or body parts but all there is flashy lights and people standing around staring at each other...

message 311: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) This reminded me, I really should continue with Vampire academy series. :)
I will read Spirit Bound for Frostbite by Richelle Mead.

message 312: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments i've requested Other from the library - either that or Single White Vampire - which I think I have on the pile somewhere

message 313: by Yvonne (new)

Yvonne (selana) another week, another trip to the library in the hope to find one of the books from the list in English... if I can't find any, I might re-read Harry Potter, I already own that.

Unfortunately I'm too broke to buy new books at the moment and in Germany it's hard to find books in the original English at the library. I really prefer not to read a translation

message 314: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I'm going to read Obsidian from this list.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ | 957 comments I want to read Charmfall (Dark Elite, #3) by Chloe Neill but I can't afford at the moment to buy any books in book form or on my kindle and my library currently doesn't have it. :(

message 316: by Joann (new)

Joann | 973 comments I'm going to read Vampire Academy for Frostbite.

message 317: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm going to read Last Sacrifice for Frostbite.

message 318: by [deleted user] (new)

Here we go!
I just finished Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead on [1/28/2012] and I'm giving it ****. I love the whole series including this final book. I expected a more heartbreaking ending though, but the story is filled with unexpected twists (and some expected ones also for that matter). My heart goes straight to Adrian so I can't wait to continue with Bloodlines, a spin-off series to VA. (:

message 319: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments I'm reading City of Ashes for Clare's City of Glass.

message 320: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) I finished Spirit Bound for 'Frostbite' by Richelle Mead on 28.01. Gave it three stars.
I usually do not have a problem with a POV narration, but I do not like Rose as storyteller. Too much digressions. I read the previous books, I know what happened. Anyway, I will read the last book in series but I am not in a hurry to read any other Richelle Mead book.

message 321: by Joann (new)

Joann | 973 comments I finished Vampire Academy for Frostbite on 02.06.12 and rated it 4 stars.

message 322: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I finished Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout Obsidian 2/9. I really liked it. Katy was great, and the comebacks she threw at Daemon were fierce and fun. 4*

message 323: by Yvonne (new)

Yvonne (selana) I just finished Demon Kissed and gave it 3 Stars. The story was rather predictable and I'm not sure if I want to read the other books in the series

message 324: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments I finished City of Ashes for City of Glass this weekend. It just felt okay to me. I give it three stars.

Suzanne (esmerelda1) | 2244 comments Random Book List #65

I finished reading Dead Beautiful (Dead Beautiful, #1) by Yvonne Woon . The story was better than I expected when I first picked it up. It was like a combination of Twilight and Harry Potter, but still enjoyable, 4 stars. I'll give the 2nd one a try.

message 327: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments I'm going to read either The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins or Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins . I'm leaning towards Hunger Games ever since I saw the trailer yesterday.

message 328: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments Vi, The Hunger Games is awesome but I also loved Hex Hall. You can't go wrong with either choice. Hex Hall is much lighter, depends on your mood :)

message 329: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I'm going with Hushed or Existence, both look really good.

message 330: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments I'm going to read Existence.

message 331: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments Unwind is a good read too...but there is one chapter that is just omg...its based on the idea of retro-active abortion...between teh age of 13-18 kids who's parents don't want them, are juvvie delinquents etc...can choose to have them unwound...where all their body parts are donated to others

message 332: by Yvonne (new)

Yvonne (selana) I think this is as good a reason as any to finally read The Hunger Games... if I can't find it, I'll probably go for Grave Sight - I like the Sookie Stackhouse series, so this sounds interesting too

message 333: by Rishika (new)

Rishika | 136 comments I will start with fallen angel by heather terrel .

message 334: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) I am not 100% sure, but I will probably read 'Grave Sight'...

Amy ~Lover of Books~ | 957 comments Fran wrote: "I'm going with Hushed or Existence, both look really good."

I read an ARC of Hushed before it came out. It was a very intense good read!

message 336: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I'm glad you liked it Amy, the reviews make it seem pretty scary and intense. I feel like if I choose that one I will have to read it in the daytime because I will be freaked out at night, lol.

Well, there was one specific scene that was hard for me to read as stated in my review of this book.

message 338: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) I just finished Grave Sight at 04.03. 2 star rating.
I don't know what, but something was missing to get me interested here. I skimmed trough other half of the book just to see 'who did it'...

message 339: by Yvonne (new)

Yvonne (selana) I just finished The Hunger Games and my mind is blown... I have to read the rest of the series as fast as possible. The book didn't let me put it away, I barely slept last night and think I finished it within 18 hours - which included sleep. 5 stars from me, even if it has some disturbing scenes

message 340: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments I finished Hex Hall today (8 Mar). I've rated it 3 stars. I liked the book very much especially the events leading upto the climax. I'm definitely picking up the next book in the series.

message 341: by Fran, Moderator (last edited Mar 08, 2012 05:02AM) (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I finished Existence today 3/8. I really enjoyed the first 70% of the book, but the last 30% lost its way a bit. It just went off track and never really found its way back to the tone or storyline of the first 70%. I give it 3* and I am still intrigued enough to read the next one in the trilogy when it comes out.

message 342: by Joann (new)

Joann | 973 comments I finished Hex Hall on 03.08.12. I rated it 3 stars and intend to continue on with the series.

message 343: by Erin (new)

Erin H I finished The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins on 3/8, (I finally found a book that fits with a list!) The book was sooo good that I had to read the rest in the series and highly recommend it to anyone!

That's what happened to me LOL finished the series in less than a week

message 345: by Megan (new)

Megan (teenqueen) | 58 comments This gives me a good excuse to re-read The Hunger Games before I go and see it at the cinema in about 2 weeks! :)

message 346: by Nicola (last edited Mar 15, 2012 05:45AM) (new)

Nicola | 649 comments Just finished Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins last night. I did enjoy it, really getting into these YA books I guess. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series, but do not have to do so right away like I did with Hunger Games! Think I am giving this ***.

message 347: by Yvonne (new)

Yvonne (selana) This series is addicting, I finished Catching Fire and Mockingjay as well. Catching Fire got 5 stars and Mockingjay 4 - I enjoyed both but the end of Mockingjay was a bit strange, a bit too hurried for my liking. I would have loved to hear more about how government and life for everyone changes

message 348: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments I finished Existence a couple of days ago. I have mixed feelings about this book. I don't think I really like it, but the ending is intriguing enough that I might read the next book. I give it three stars.

message 349: by [deleted user] (new)

I finished Mockingjay (for THG), on 3/21 and I'm giving it 5*.

It's magnificent. Simple as that.
