Hi Cheryl: I don't think that Lois Lowry is Danish. I looked her up in Goodreads and Wikipedia and both listed her as American. I can't count Number the Stars for a European stop.

My brand new PC should be built, delivered ---and--- then intalled next Monday. (Merry Christmas to me!!) I'm so looking forward to replacing my 10 year-old system. Just try to live with a 40 gig hard drive for that long!It's really a bit of a pain to try to do this scorekeeping from my laptop since I don't have a 10-key number pad attached to it. I'm going to give myself a break during the holidays -- and wait to update the scores until my new PC is installed.
I am still reviewing this folder everyday. If I have questions/comments about anything I'll post them as soon as they arise.

Hi Tammy:
Sure you can claim those points for "Room". Since I haven't tallied the points from your original post for that book, just go back and add those points to that message. Then I can get all the points added at the same time when I do the tally.

Joanna is correct. You can't use Task 10.2 when claiming Combo points. Basically with Task 10.2, you can read one book to fulfill the task itself, then the task is retired for the challenge.

I also didn't realize that this worked for 10.9 - Alphabet Soup. I thought the title's first word had to match with the author's name. Now That I've read other posts, I see the word "Prym" in the title goes with the author's last name, Coelho. So can I claim these points too?
And does it work for Tropic of Capricorn?

I was waiting to see if Sam or nsfancy was going to weigh in on this one. But since they haven't here's my take on it. Task 10.8 is about reading a book set in a specific country. If the only way you can infer that the book is set in a specific country is by the author's nationality, then no --- I don't think it counts for the task. When I read the book, I thought it was really location neutral. It could have been set anywhere.
Unless I'm overruled by nsfancy, I won't be allowing Combo points with Task 10.8.
