message 881: by Alyne (new)

Alyne Winter | 20 comments Daughters of the Grail by Elizabeth Chadwick. A little too much war and bloodshed for me, but so well written. I recommend it if you like historicals with a bit of mysticalness.

message 882: by Marion (new)

Marion Hill (kammbia1) I'm currently reading Daughter of Light by Morgan Busse.

I've read about 80 pages and it's the story of a young woman who was banished from her village because was considered a witch. However, she is getting a second chance to become someone and is part of bigger plan that I will find out later.

She has a mark on her hand that causes her to look into people's souls. Pretty good Christian Fantasy Novel so far.

Renee Has anyone here read A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin ? My husband and I love the HBO Game of Thrones series and I was wondering what the book series was like.

Lynne - The Book Squirrel (squirrelsend) I am re-reading Jane Bites Back by Michael Thomas Ford as I got the others in the series last month and I needed a refresher as it was a while since I read it. Forgot how funny it was!

Also ploughing my way through The Grapes of Wrath which has been in my library for the last 30 years or so! I am making no headway with Flowers for Algernon so that's on hold at the moment!

The Mammoth Book of Steampunk I am reading between, which is a book of short stories, some good, so not so but easy to read for a change of scene!

I have read all the books released and they are fantastic, better than a fantastic series. Although they are huge they are worth it.
