Hi Karen! I can understand why you didn't love DALD at first. It's probably one of my least favorite in the series (but I still loved it!). The Chicago Stars series is one of my all time faves and SEP is one of my all time favorite authors. IMO, you should start at the beginning with It Had to Be You. But...don't let the first part of the book freak you out. Keep reading. :)

I read Living Dead in Dallas. I'm really enjoying this series and hear it just gets better with each book!
I have to put my hand up and confess I'm not going to get my book read in time - Club Dead :( ...But at least it's waiting for another slot somewhere :)
Beyond the Highland Mist, Karen Marie Moning, 3-22-11For "The Immortal Highlander"
3 Stars. Quick, fun read. I read the first five Highlander books when they first came out, but somehow never got around to Adam's story. Which surprises me, because I was really looking forward to that one. Not remembering a lot of details, I decided to reread the entire series while I wait for a copy of Shadowfever from the library and was pleasantly surprised. It was still entertaining and actually pretty good for a first published novel.
Finished Tithe, 03/27, 2.5 stars, didn't enjoy this one very much, I thought it was similar to Need, but a bit better written.

It's so weird with this series. I had The Hunger Games for like a year and never felt like reading it. Then I read it and loved it...but now I don't feel like reading this one!
That's why I'm so glad it came up in the random challenge. Now I'll HAVE to pick it up.
D.G. ~The Devil's Harlot~ wrote: "It's so weird with this series. I had The Hunger Games for like a year and never felt like reading it. Then I read it and loved it...but now I don't feel like reading this one!"I've been the same with this series.
My problem is that there are 4 books on this list in my physical TBR and I can't decide which to pick. I guess it'll come down to what mood I'm in or what I can fit into other challenges but, for now, I'm leaning towards Catching Fire.
Finished Breaking Dawn 4/10/11. This was really good. Probably the best of the series. Now I am prepared to see the movies.
I finished Just the Sexiest Man Alive today, 4/12. I super loved Taylor, the heroine but I thought the hero, Jason was just o.k. I seem to have a problem with jerks that turn around and become half-way lovable in the last 1/3 of the book. But cute story and Taylor was a pleasure to read about, so smart and funny.
Fran, I just read A Lot Like Love and thought it was really good.I think I'll use this as my first challenge. I wish I was strong enough to pick Gone With the Wind (it's been sitting in my TBR for almost 2 years - yikes!). But I'm going to re-read Breathing Room. It's one of my favorite SEPs.
I finished Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare on 04.24.11. Started it yesterday and finished just a few minutes ago. It really kept my attention; I gave it 4 stars.
I've just finished listening to The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Terrific story and great narrator. Highly recommend the book. 4 stars overall - I downgraded from 5 stars because the ending was not really an ending...
I just finished Breathing Room by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. A typical romance where both couples fight the feelings. Enjoyable characters and I give it 4 stars.
I finished Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas and I gave it ★★★★★.It was my first contemporary novel by Lisa Kleypas and at first I didn't think much of it because of the title, but I found myself pleasantly surprised.
Random Book List #28Duration: May 10 - June 7, 2011

Vi- 6/7
Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard (2)
KarenF - 6/3
Vi-5/10
Heaven, Texas by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Glitter Baby by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Faking It by Jennifer Crusie (1)

The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson
Angels & Demons by Dan Brown (1)

Dream a Little Dream by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

I'm thinking about Dream a Little Dream. I haven't liked any of her Chicago Stars books that much, maybe this one will be different.
Random Book List #28Duration: May 10 - June 7, 2011
I'll read The Hollow which is the next book after Blood Brothers
I wanted to read Mr Perfect, but it isn't available on audio from my library (and I already have too many MMPBs to read). So I'm going to give Blood Brothers by Nora Roberts a go. I didn't particularly like my last foray with NR (the Key trilogy) but I enjoy the In Death series - so I'm going to try again :)
OK, I'm reading Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard.Edit: I'm done with Mr. Perfect. ***. The suspense was the weakest part of the book.
Finished Blood Brothers on 05.24.11. I really haven't read alot of Nora Roberts' books although I've read all of J.D. Robb's "In Death" series. Anyway, I really enjoyed this book - 5 stars.
I just finished Angels & Demons. I had a really hard time getting into this book. If I had not been listening to it on audio there is no way I would have finished it. However the last fourth of the book was really amazing. So glad I did finish it.
I finished Mr. Perfect earlier today (6/3/11). It was OK - the hero/heroine were funny together, that was the highlight.
I read Faking It (5/26***) and I really enjoyed it. It's a fairly predictable story but it's amusing and kept me up all night reading - not that that's unusual for me! :D
I am applying for an extension on Blood Brothers. I'm on CD 9 out of 10 - so close to finishing but I won't be driving anywhere for long enough to finish it before 7 June :( ...I have to say, I'm really enjoying this book - if I can pick up the other two in audio, I'll definitely be 'reading' them.
I read
. I really love the books Jennifer Crusie writes and this one is one of my favorites. Davy and Matilda make a perfect pair.
I read Blood Brothers by Nora Roberts, finished on 7 June (just nice). I also read Mr. Perfect on May 10. SO two books for this list. Not bad at all.
