Ms.soule (mrssoule) I'm going to have to read It's Now or Never since it's the only one I can get ahold of right now that I haven't already read.

message 52: by Annie (new)

Annie (themadnessofhamsters) I finished Believe some time (exact date at home). Fun, but had to disconnect my scepticism.

message 53: by Ms.soule (new)

Ms.soule (mrssoule) Just finished It's Now or Never - a very quick read and surprisingly good, especially for a Christian short story. There was definite passion & intense emotion considering you know the characters for all of 7 pages and they don't do anything "dirtier" than kissing - the sexual awareness through body language and eye contact reminded me of Janet Oke's books. Definitely a Christian author to watch.

Read It's Now or Never. Nothing extraordinary, but not bad either.

message 56: by Valorie (new)

Valorie | 2218 comments I finished I Am the Messenger. Pretty good, not fantastic but good.

message 57: by Caleb (new)

Caleb (ccp981) I finished Captive Bride on 12-10-11.
I've only read one other book by Johannah Lindsey, but I remember enjoying that one more. This one really got bogged down by details that probably were not necessary and I don't think that I liked the female - she was too much a contradiction to herself. I liked Phillip, he was the reason that I kept reading. In the end, everything worked out and I liked it, but I didn't love it.

message 58: by Katia (new)

Katia | 12 comments i finished Bonds of justice yesterday (12/11),i just looove these series and this combo was new!human male+psy female!nice nice nice

message 59: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Read Conquering Kate yesterday (12 Dec). It was an OK way to spend a couple of hours, but not a book that I really liked. 3 stars. I'd probably buy the next book (Capturing Cass) if the author ever writes it!!... just to find out how Jadik fairs in the last of the Oaths. But given the book I read was first published 7 years ago (and the one before it, 8 years ago), I doubt we'll ever see it...

Now I really want to get caught up on the series! I've only read book 1 and 2, I really like the series, I just haven't gotten around to book 3 yet!

message 61: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Finished I Am the Messenger on Saturday, 12-11-10. Although it's hard to review without revealing spoilers, I really liked this book. Ed's journey as the messenger ends up being a lesson for character and reader alike. 4 Stars.

If you enjoyed this one, you should read The Book Thief.

message 63: by Sandra (last edited Dec 13, 2010 10:00PM) (new)

Sandra | 4260 comments Wow, I've never read a book before that was so close to plagarism. I finished Captive Bride and the plot, the characters, the setting are almost the same as The Sheik. I know E.M. Hull died in 1947 but that is no excuse. Still Joanna Lindsey did write well, if not imaginatively, so 3 stars.

BTW, The Sheik written in 1919 was scarier and better.

The second half of the book has them all back in England so that is different at least.

That's great, Fran, since the final book for this series is being released on January. You will not experience the torture we fans had to go through with all the cliffhangers. : )

Kiss of Fire by Deborah Cooke or possibly re-read of Darkfever. I want to read the next one but it has been so long since I read the first one I might need a refresher.

Barbara ★ | 3901 comments Again I'm going with the first book in the series, Storm Born instead of Thorn Queen.

message 93: by Lili (new)

Lili | 343 comments Since I already read It Happened One Autumn, can it trade it for Devil in Winter?
or does it have to be a book from the list?

Yes.

You can read a book within the series. It will not count for the original book, but it will count for you completing the challenge.

message 95: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) I finished Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning Done 1/1/11

Excellent book!

message 96: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Okay I finished Bonds of Justice, not my favorite. I think I'm the only one who could care less about the psy network with the stars. Very boring for me.
