Eeek! Either these are not books I particularly want to read, I've already read them or they are a book or so in front of where I'm up to in the series!! What to do? What to do??!!

Jane - if they are books in a series and you aren't up to that book yet, you can use an earlier one in the series...i.e. faefever is on the list - i'm going to use shadowfever which is the last one in the series since i've already read faefever

OK, that makes it easier - either Lover Enshrined or the first in the Fever series... I'll let you know Yz. :) (Or if I run out of time, the 0.5 novella by G Showalter!!)

I highly recommend the fever series...they are addictive...most people have read all 4 of them in the space of a week

Thanks Dee. It is certainly more achievable than Lover Enshrined (in a short timeframe) but LE meets a lot of my challenge criteria. I'll make a decision as I see how I'm travelling on my monthly challenges :)

i didn't love lover enshrined...but it was ok...that reminds I do have father mine on the pile (the bella and Z short story)

I have previously managed to get 2/3 through Lover Enshrined (about 9 months ago) but wasn't enjoying it. (It was extremely easy to put down!) But I have the next 2 books backing up so I HAVE to read it!!

lol...I think i read it in about a week and it does get better...I know a lot of ppl didn't like it - but I think she did a really good job (at least from my limited psychological perspective) of someone coping with an addiction (but its been a long time since I took any of those classes since its not my speciality)

Now I've just realised that I have to read Darkfever for Random booklist #3 because I can't listen to my Lisa Kleypas (It Happened One Autumn) in time due to the flooding over here (because I'm not able to drive beyond our local township). So now it's back to Lover Enshrined or buying up the next Gena Showalter book - The Darkest Pleasure (LOTU #3)! LOL!

I think this list puts me "out" for this month. I've either recently read the books and not ready to re-read, know the book by heart (Interview with the Vampire), don't want to pay money to read an 84 page book or it's so far forward in the series that I couldn't catch up to read it this month (in order)...I'll keep my eyes out for next month's list.

I'm going to re-read Showalter's Into the Dark - which contains both The Darkest Prison and The Darkest Fire. I'll be deep into reading stuff I have to read, so re-reading novellas will be perfect.

I read The Darkest Prison today. It was short but sweet- Atlas and Nike- a fiery couple. I have only read the first LOTU book but this novella inspires me to read some more :)

I'm going to read Bloodfever. Everyone is so excited about this series that I want to get into it but KMM's books haven't ever thrilled me. I'll give it another try.

I finished The Darkest Fire and I must say I didn't find it very inspiring. The story of how the Demon Lords escaped from Hell.

It is basically the prequel to The Darkest Night and I'm glad I've read the first 3 books of LOTU otherwise I wouldn't bother to read any more. But of course I will continue the series now that I have. LOL.

Hmmm - Good to know Sandra. I'll definitely skip that one and stick with The Darkest Pleasure (LOTU #3) as the next book in the series... (Assuming I don't read Lover Enshrined...)

I just finished Faefever by Karen Marie Moning. Great book, fast pace, excellent addition to the series and best one so far. I love the character of Barrons and the action is top notch. I can't wait to read the next one in the series.

Just finished Into the Dark which includes The Darkest Fire and The Darkest Prison. All a bit meh really... Could explain why I've found it difficult to read the next books in the series - and can barely remember the ones I have read :(... 2 stars.

I finished The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag last night. I enjoyed it although I liked The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie better. I liked the portrayal of English village life in the 1950s. And I really enjoy Flavia. I'm just glad I never had anyone like her in my class while I was teaching elementary school.

Finished Faefever today. The first half seemed yet another filler, but the second half...Well, the second half earned the 5 stars head-on.

Loved the descriptions of the Dark Zone that was Dublin, and the last scene with Mac...Subtle, yet horrific in its subtlety. Masterfully penned.

I finished Bloodfever today. I still have a love/hate relationship with Karen Marie Moning's books. I love the world she's built and the plot and action in each book. The pearl clutching moralizing about these kids today with their sex and video games still drives me a little crazy. It's a little bit like listening to one of my great aunts rant. And that pulls me right out of that great UF world. But I do like that world enough to keep reading the series and I'm getting better at skimming or skipping the other parts.

Finished Showalter's The Darkest Lie, book 6 in her LOTU series, last night. I wasn't really a fan of Gideon, but his book turned out to be a decent read. Will continue to read this series.

Great story, I always want to skim a little bit because of all Mac's rambling but since I do like her a lot I can refrain most of the time, I can't wait for her and Barrons to get together.

Yay! I have finally finished Lover Enshrined! This has taken me 17 months to read. I re-checked when I last tried to read it - I gave up in Sept 2009!!

I actually ended up enjoying the book. There were parts that didn't quite gel for me, but other parts I loved. Overall I rated it 4 stars - it was probably more 3.5 stars.

*rubs hands* - now I can get onto Bloodfever and Dark Peril!! :)

Finished Feb 4, 2011. 4 stars.
Is the grammar the best? No. Do I see similarities to many other UF/PNR series currently in print? Yes. But. There's just something about this series that feels dark and lush and is thoroughly enjoyable to read. Any book that can make me feel like that despite the inherent flaws deserves 4 stars.

I was planning on reading Summer Knight this month so that works well. Usually the series books in these lists are ones I've read already or are way ahead of me. I was just waiting for one to be just right!

although I'll have to borrow one of my grandsons to go get it from the library. That children's librarian is one scary chic. If you go in to the children's area without a little child with you she glares at you like you are a child molester or something.

Sheila, I went to my library today and picked up A Light in the Attic from the children's area. I was chuckling to myself and thinking of you the whole time- we have two young girls who man the desk in that area, and they couldn't care less who comes and goes. Not like your patrolwoman!

Yes, Fran. Thanks for thinking of me. Actually my husband made the library run today so he was the one that got glared at. He actually had to enlist her help in finding it in the poetry section.

This has happened to my husband a few times at the Zoo and in parks. He used to like to use the monkey bars and such to exercise and a few times people have looked at him funny. He's very sad about the Zoo because he loves animals and he likes to go every year but sometimes I can't go with him.
