"Yeah, just fine." Lucas forced the anger out of his voice and turned to Sappho with a smile that hid his fury. "The whole story is just so stupid and foolish."
"Mhm," Sappho said, turning her gaze back to her constantly fiddling hands, now playing with a thick stem of grass. "You've got to feel bad for that poor girl, though," she thought aloud. "Who knew Andrew was such a jerk."
"Eh, most of the Apollo boys are a bit full of it," Lucas mused with a shrug, leaning back on his hands. "But hitting someone with a love arrow is going a bit too far."
"Yeah..." Sappho said with her eyebrow arched. "'Specially when she was already in love, it seems."

((OKIES~))
"That's just wrong," Lucas said. His anger began to veer away from Myra, taking a sharp turn toward the son of Apollo.

"It's a pretty screwed up story," Sappho said with a laugh like silver chimes in a warm breeze. "At least we're not part of it."
Lucas responded with a laugh, but it was edged with bitterness. "Yeah, a pretty screwed up story."
He seemed far more affected by the story than he would have if he'd just been hearing it fresh, Sappho thought, her dark ochre eyes probing his. "Lucas, if something's wrong, tell me," she said softly. "A burden will be lifted/ From every man's sweet sorrow/ And a dawn will follow early,/ Every sunset of tomorrow."
((Phew. I've had that poem since 9th grade. o.o 2 years.))

"Nothing's wrong," Lucas said, keeping his voice quiet so most of the anger was undetectable. "Nice poem, by the way."

"Here's another one," Sappho said, voice meek. "Inspired from the latest events at camp. He craved me once, not long ago,/ And now left my broken wings in snow,/ To freeze and to bleed and to leave the bone bare,/ He has stolen my heart, but he seems not to care." Her voice broke on the last syllable and she turned slightly away, but recovered almost immediately.

Diona sat down, surrounded by strawberries. She picked one and popped it in her mouth. Her thoughts were debating Strawberries and California Grapes...
((Hehehe, funneh emoticon...xD))
Lucas arched a brow at her, puzzled by the the reaction. "The Muse kids are really talented," he said after a moment's awkward silence. "Never paid much attention to them, though."

"Until now," Lucas repeated, the poke lightening his mood more than the poems, how ironic.
Sappho beamed her childish smile at Lucas, amber eyes sparkling with electricity. "Good!" she chirped, crossing her gangly legs.
Lucas chuckled quietly, passing a weary hand over his face. He was definitely not in the mood for Capture the Flag, or much else.
"Well, I'm not exactly a 'cheerful' person," Lucas pointed out with a shrug.
"I doubt you're very melancholic, either, Lucas," Sappho said, teasingly serious.
At that same time, Myra stumbled out towards the field, in a surprisingly drab ensemle of grey denim shorts and a black tanktop. "Lucas?" she called out, voice tremulous. She could just spot his curly head sitting next to a girl from the Muse cabin, but waited until he recognized her voice.

Diona heard the voice. They were just talking about her. Ugh I hate being in the background. And what's up with the detressed look? She thought to herself before akwardly standing up.
"Yeah, well--" Lucas turned around at the sound of his name, raising a skeptical brow at Myra. Is she drunk off love? he thought flatly, tempted to ignore her and continue his conversation with Sappho. "Well, I don't know about that," he finished slowly.

Just about freezing at the cold look Lucas gave her, the tiny sparkle of hope breaking something emotional in her face. No, no, Aphrodite help me.
"Please," she said lowly, approaching Lucas on usually-graceful legs that now stumbled. Her eyes were huge and dark in her ashen face. "I have to talk to you."

Danielle strolled along the field peacefully.
Diona continued walking, looking at the ground. She bumped into Anthony. "What's your problem?" She muttered.

Diona let out a breath. "You realize I'm like half your size, seven, and crippled right?" She asked, retorically. "And it matters if you know what cabin you're in." She said. "I'll show you around. I have nothing else to do."

"Yep. I know who you're talking about. Well c'mon." She said, not thinking about her sorrows for a change.

Lucas held her gaze for a moment, then stood and stooped slightly to address Sappho, "Excuse me, Sappho." His voice was too quiet to tell the emotion, but when he walked over to Myra there was anger clear in his eyes. "Yes?"

"Please," Myra said in a broken whisper. "Please, Lucas. If I had had any choice in the matter I wouldn't have-- have let anything happen." She opened her mouth to say his name, but couldn't do it, and she closed her eyes. When she opened them there was a glimmer of wetness on her high cheekbones. "Tell me," she continued in that broken voice, eyes trained low. "What was I supposed to do?" She seemed childish, afraid, ashamed. The feeling of self-hatred burned in her heart and she couldn't bear looking at the anger coursing in Lucas' eyes.
Lucas. I love you. I'm sorry.
Lucas. I love you. I'm sorry.
Fortunately for Myra, Sappho had convinced Lucas that the one to blame was Andrew. And so, the anger was directed to the one who'd supposedly shot his girlfriend with a love arrow. When I find that son of a b*tch I'm going to do more than just break his wrist.
"No, no, Myra, don't cry, now," Lucas coaxed, almost awkwardly. "It wasn't like you could somehow be immune to the magic of the arrow. It wasn't your fault." Underneath the mask of anger was hurt. Hurt and the feeling of betrayal.

Myra couldn't help it, she broke down, burning tears going down already-stained paths. She turned away and sniffed, her eyes a brighter blue than ever, lit with sadness. I could. It's my fault, I'm sorry.
"He... he reversed it, I think," she said through the tears, her side facing Lucas. "There's only one person I'm in love with now."
She'd done what she'd come to do, and Myra turned completely to walk away, passing a hand over her face and staring at the tears, wiping her nose with the back of her hand. You've ruined it all.

Lucas cocked his head to one side in puzzlement, feeling another pang of hurt as she turned away. "What is it?" he asked, brows knit in confusion.
"Nothing. Nothing than I've completely betrayed you for someone I barely knew." It was the hardest thing she'd ever done to walk away, but Myra did, tears dropping down and wetting her black tank top.
But he wasn't going to let her walk away, because that would fix nothing and they'd fall apart. Lucas trotted up in front of her, blocking her path. "It wasn't your fault, Myra, dear. Please don't cry," he pleaded.
Myra stared at Lucas for several seconds, shock blending into her grief. She took two stumbling steps forward and let her head fall onto his chest, wetting his shirt with more tears. "You don't know how it feels," she whispered once the sobs had receded. "It hurts like Hades."
Lucas wrapped his arms around her in a gentle embrace, peering down at Myra in confusion again. Does it hurt, like, physically...? He wondered if it'd hurt like getting hit by a regular arrow, or if she meant emotionally. Deciding the question was stupid at this moment, he said nothing and tried to comfort Myra. "It's over now, though, you're OK...right?"
"I don't know," she said slowly. "I don't know. I'm sorry, Lucas." Myra looked up at him then, and after a calming breath she said, "I'm in love with you."
Lucas was silent for a moment, looking down at her. Love is when you forget about yourself and only what's best for that other person, Lucas, his mother's voice whispered in his mind. He kissed Myra's forehead softly, then pulled back so they were forehead to forehead. "I'm in love with you, too."
"Even after... what happened?" Myra asked disbelievingly, her blue gaze meeting his black one. Numbness floated throughout her body like an anaesthetic, and her heart felt oddly light.
"I can't expect our relationship to be perfect," Lucas said with a ghost of a smile on his lips.
"And I'm pretty... not perfect," Myra said shakily, trying to keep the apology from her voice but failing.
"I'm not perfect either," Lucas pointed out gently. "Nothing ever is."
Lucas was silent at first, his initial reaction to the shock. "Yeah, that bull," he said in a neutral tone, just when he was deciding ra..."
Sappho shrugged, eyeing Lucas. He seemed fine... but a little off. "Er... are you OK?" she asked, amber eyes gentle as a doe's.
