Totally agree, Bella was way too winny in the first three. I always wondered why Edward didn't feel like he was babbysitting a four year old. Don't get me wrong I LOVE the series! Great Love Story! I just wish Bella was a little more mature, but then again she is still a teen.

The only thing that bugged me about BD was the fact that there was no real epic battle at the end. The Cullens ..."
Don't get me wrong, I would have been so sad if she had killed off any character but I think it would have been a much better story if Bella had died. It would have been a huge risk but I think it would have opened up Renesmee's story more.

On the other hand, Vampire Academy (the first one) I was just kinda like "that was ok", but by the time I go to Shadow Kissed - it was a complete obsession. It is more action based then the love story that is Twilight.

Twilight is good as well, but not in the same league as Vampire Academy.

I stopped reading HofN by the 6th book.
VA feels more mature and the writing is just so good. And the story line doen't go oof on tangents too much. like HofN.

Posted earlier in the thread to ask if VA got better after book one as I thought it was a bit 'meh'.
Book 2 was better but still just 'ok' and 'good'.
Book 3 though, which I only have a few pages left to read, is 'sooo good'! I love that I have finally reached the hook and can't wait to see what happens next.
Now I know what everyone is raving about and I get it. :D
Thanks for the advice to stick with VA ladies, it was worth the wait to get here.

I have read, and loved, Twilight. VA is on my TBR list, and I will be reading them as soon as I clear off some of the books on my bookshelf, hopefully sometime in 2011.

I felt Twilight started off stronger, but was not crazy about the last book. Don't get me wrong, Also one of my favorite series!

Carri, Snap! Twilight gripped me from the first chapter and I barely stopped reading 1, 2 & 3 to even sleep. Then I got to book 4 and thought it was a bit lacking somehow, compared to the others. It was ok but it didn't even feel like it was written by the same person as the others.
However, it's still one of my all time faves as series go!

But what did you think about the books? It's the books that are being compared...

VA is awesome! I loved the heartbreak of Adrian at the end...only because it was real. I would have been pissed if he was just all, "Well, I know you two love each other, and I don't want to get in the way of that, so I'm happy for you." I feel that if this scenario was in the Twilight series, that's probably what would have happened.
