January group read nominations thread - POLL LIVE

Nominations for our January 2011 group read are now open (you've got a while to nominate - we are always a bit ahead of ourselves to give time to get hold of the books). Please post your nominations and I'll update this list as we get nominations! If you could give us your top to-read nomination of the month! (Can you believe I'm talking about 2011!!!!)

Please nominate first in the series or stand-a-lone books. (feel free to renominate books which have been before BUT not books we have already featured as group reads - you could try nominating the next book in the series, see below)

If we've already had book 1 as a group read feel free to nominate book 2 and so on!

Timescale:
Nominate up to 15 November
Poll 15 to 30 November
December for you to get hold of the book(s)
1st January - group read starts

The two most voted for books will be our January group reads. You can read either or both.

We will also have a series continuation group read in January - ie book 2 of a series we have done book 1 of etc.

A poll will be posted about 15 November to run until 30 November, which will then give everyone a month to get hold of the book(s).

If your choice does not come top you can either renominate for February or see if any other members want to do a buddy read with you.

I'm thinking that Rogue won't win December's continuation, so I re-nominate it. I also nominate Guilty Pleasures, even though I think a lot of people inn this group are already well in to the Anita Blake series.

Last Sacrifice is a considered a continuation in the series, the very last book. and for the continuation books we have to have read the first in the series, b/c some people mite not have read vampire academy yet. you can nominate the first book in the series though. so basically we have to already have the first vampire academy book as a group read in the past which we havent.

Tracey, unfortunately I can't add Last Sacrifice to the nominations list because it is book 6 in the Vampire Academy series.

Nominations need to be the first book in a series or a standalone book. However, you can nominate book two of a series if we have already had book one as a previous group read (ie the series continuation reads means of book we've had as group reads).

Would you like to nominate Vampire Academy instead?

These rules for nomination are in place so everyone has as much chance as possible to participate in the group reads. As Mariya stated not everyone has read the rest of the Vampire Academy series (don't ask me just yet okay!).

I read Insatiable and it's definitely not innocent like Princess Diaries. :)

It was a good read, actually, but it almost felt like the book should have been made into a series.
